Since it's good to, I guess, as he says, follow rules as the Ten Commandments. And it's good to keep them so you can, I guess, live a better life than living in sin once you're alive. But then Jesus corrects us. It's still good to follow those rules, but he gives us the two greatest commandments, Love your neighbor as yourself and the other one, I forget, but besides the point. God doesn't want us, I guess, to live by rules. He wants us to be obedient, to follow them, I guess. What are your thoughts? I think this quote is more aimed at trying to show that Christianity is transactional. Meaning, if I do X, Y, and Z, God's gonna like this. If I do good, if I do this, if I do that. God gave us salvation for free. We need to do absolutely nothing but just accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, believe in him, and then try and follow his rules. And we will always make mistakes, we will always sin, but we still have to try to do our best. That's where no amount of works or deeds that we do will get us into heaven. Versus just simply by faith that Jesus saved us. That's what gets us into heaven. And that's what I think it means here by keeping a lot of rules, and you will then, you could say, get saved if you follow all this stuff. Yeah. John 3.16 puts it together nicely. If God so loved the world, he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Yeah, absolutely.
