Bill Belichick should probably be fired because the Patriots are performing poorly. Losing to the Saints, who are not a top team, by 34-0 is unacceptable. Belichick is not giving young players a chance and the current quarterback, Mac Jones, is not performing well. The team needs to start fresh with a new QB. The Patriots are a bad team and Belichick is to blame for their lack of talent. It's hard to watch the Patriots play and fans should consider tanking for a high draft pick. The team should also sell some players before the trade deadline. Patriots fans are in uncharted territory and the focus should be on getting the right people in place to turn things around. Play levels. Alright, let's just get right into it. Bill Belichick should probably be fired. Not really a phrase I ever thought I would say, but I mean, losing to the Saints, a team that's, I mean, debatably a top 25 team in the NFL, and you're going to lose 34-0 to? I mean, that's inexcusable. I mean, you basically just lost by the same margin you did to the Cowboys, who are a good team, so you could kind of, in a way, understand that. But losing to the Saints, that doesn't work. You can't lose a game like that. Well, welcome into the Andy is a fucking nerd podcast. This is a reaction episode to the most recent Saints game. Yeah, I think you have to get rid of Bill, and it may not be for the reason that you're necessarily thinking of. I just don't think that Bill Belichick chasing Don Shula has the ability to do what this team needs to do right now. You know, I think you need to put someone like Gerard Mayo in place. He's the heir apparent anyway. You may as well start that era now, because this isn't working. And Belichick's going to continue to try to win. That's who he is. I think you see it with the lack of young players getting on the field, right? Everyone that was on the field offensively is a veteran. Ezekiel Elliott, Juju Smith-Schuster, Mike Kosicki, Hunter Henry, Devontae Parker, all those dudes have gotten a ton of snaps in their NFL career, and they don't need the work at this point. Like, this is a, I mean, this is a one and four team. Statistically, you have no chance at the playoffs. Your division is really good. You're in the better conference. You're not going to win many games here moving forward. Now is the time to get the young guys involved, and I just don't, I don't think Bill Belichick's ever done that, and I don't see, I don't see a path to him changing his ways so significantly that he will allow for that. You know, at this point, I think we can all kind of wrap our heads around the fact that, you know, Mac Jones, just that he's not the guy. He can't do two performances like that in a row. I've never seen a successful quarterback be able to get away with that, and that's just where Mac's at now. I think he's proven that, you know, he just, he's not mentally tough, you know, like, he just can't handle the adversity and bring his teammates back from. I mean, we watched Brady do this for years, right, where he, the Patriots would be down 20 points, and Brady, through sheer will, would say, hey, we're not, we're not out of this, we're going to keep going. I just don't see that out of Mac Jones at this point. I think he, you know, once this team gets behind, it's over. You know, once the Saints are up 14-0, this game is over. You know, I texted in the group chat, that was it. Like, that's, that's the game. We're not going to win this thing. Now, at that point, was I expecting 34-0? No, I wouldn't say I was expecting 34-0. That feels pretty extreme, but hey, you know, I mean, Mac's not the guy. I think we can pretty safely say that, and we have to go get one of these young quarterbacks. You know, we need to start fresh. We need to start the whole thing fresh, and this is where I'm talking about Belichick. I just don't think he has the ability at this point in his career to say, hey, I'm going to just reset the whole thing. You know, I'm going to just suck this year. I'm going to lose a lot of games, but I'm going to get my young guys a lot of action. He's not going to do that. That's just not, that's not how he's wired, and that, that's the reason I think he needs to go right now, because you're not going to get an opportunity at a draft class, like the quarterbacks coming into this. Like, if you can land Caleb Williams or Drake May, like, you're going to be in a great spot moving forward, and that, that almost has to be the focus at this point. Like you're not a good team. You're just, you're not, you're not going to be a good team. Like Zappi got in there late in this game, and again, I thought they took way too long to pull Mac Jones. Like, he got way too much leash to be able to keep making bad throws and everything, but Bailey's not the guy either. You know, I mean, in the couple games he's gotten in here, I mean, would you really say the offense has moved at all? I don't think he's put up a single point in any of his drives. So to me, that, that's not an answer. You know, to me, the fun answer would be, hey, just bring up Malik Cunningham and see what he can do. They probably won't do that, because you have to totally change your offense to kind of go around Malik, but I don't know. I don't know where, where that kind of leaves us. You know, we, we just, we don't have, we don't have the talent, you know, losing, I mean, you could feel the fact that Judon and Christian Gonzalez weren't on the field today. You know, I saw JC Jackson get burned on a couple throws. Not shocking, you know, coming off for a guy that's just coming out of, you know, not playing too much for the Chargers, but I don't know, I don't know where that leaves the Patriots right now. They, they're a bad team. They should be ranked near, like, 30th in the NFL. There's really not many teams that are worse than them, and that, you have to blame Belichick for that. Yeah, he's the general manager. He doesn't have talent. He's a great coach. Don't get me wrong, but it's been his job, and he chose to do this, to be the guy that gets to pick the talent on this team, and he just hasn't, hasn't done it offensively. It's a nightmare right now. Watching the Patriots is hard. It's a legitimate chore to watch the Patriots right now. I just had my friends. They turned it off. I had to watch it on my phone to watch the end of the game. Like that, that's a bad team, man. That's rough. So, yeah, I mean, the bad game, bad couple games. I think we really got to do some soul-searching with this team to see, see what the next, the rest of this year looks like, at least. I don't think it looks good. I think it looks really bad. So, yeah, we'll see. I mean, I think officially I'm on a team tank for Caleb. I mean, that guy just had three rushing touchdowns, one throwing touchdown, and basically single-handedly won USC the game. I'd like that guy, you know? Mack's clearly not that guy. Mack's, the only way Mack can do well is being a frontrunner, and if he's not that, he's got nothing. And we've learned that, and it's brutally clear at this point. So I don't know. I don't know where we go from here as, you know, Patriots fans. It's going to be a long year. It's going to be a very, very long year, but we'll hang in, and hopefully, you know, we get a high draft pick. We can kind of start fresh with a new QB. Again, if I were the Patriots right now, we should be sellers before the trade deadline. If anyone will take Juju Smichies or Devontae Parker, please do, because they are not worth having on our roster right now. We need to develop the young guys. It's tough. Patriots fans have never been here before, so this is some new air that we're really living in. But hey, go get one of these young quarterbacks next year. You can turn it around quick, and that's what we got to do. We just need to make sure we got the right guys in place to make it happen. So we'll see. But yeah, I don't know. Let's just close this out with that Top Gun scene where they sing, You've Got That Love feeling where Goose and Maverick sing together just because, I don't know, I guess that's happy. I mean, Goose dies in the movie, but hey, let's try to be happy for a second. So here we go. Excuse me. Hey, hey, hey. Don't worry. I'll take care of this. You never close your eyes anymore when I kiss your lips. There's no tenderness like before in your fingertips. You're trying hard not to show it, baby. But baby, believe me, I know it. You've lost that loving feeling. Oh, that loving feeling. You've lost that loving feeling. Now it's gone, gone, gone. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum, ba-da-dum.
