The speaker discusses the concept of trusting God and emphasizes that it is not based on one's goodness or badness, but on faith in Jesus. Prayer is described as a time for fellowship and worship with God. The speaker introduces themselves as Rich Konyali and mentions their experience in teaching and ministry. They invite listeners to tune in to their program, "God Questions, God Answers," and also announce a gathering at Nakasero Primary School. The speaker then continues to discuss the importance of trusting God, stating that it should be a daily practice and comparable to breathing. Trusting God is defined as having confidence and hope in Him and His word. The speaker encourages listeners to remember and reflect on the name of the Lord, which represents His character, nature, and faithfulness. Trusting God should not be limited to difficult times but should be embraced as a lifestyle. Did you know that good people don't go to heaven? I'm telling you when I go to heaven people like me I'm gonna go to heaven and I'm gonna look for good people and I will not find them. What causes a person to go either to heaven or to hell it's not their goodness or their badness. Yes it is their faith in Jesus. The question is this did you believe on Jesus? Prayer it's not I repeat number one it's not a time to petition God. Yes it's a time where you go in and you focus on fellowship with God. Prayer is worship. It's worshiping God. Last time I shared Part 1, Part 1 of Trusting God, the Inevitable of Life. So today I just want to continue on and share with you Part 2 and we'll do probably a Part 3. I pray that this will be a blessing to you because, man, it is powerful what God can do when we trust Him. If you get this revelation, if you get this basic revelation, I should say, understanding of this, it will really transform your ability to receive from God and seeing more and more and more results in your life. So moving along here, let me do a quick recap. We talked about trusting God. We established clearly that trusting God is not something you do one time and quit. It's not something you do and think, well, I trusted God yesterday. I'm not going to trust God today. We established clearly that trusting God is something that has to be done on the daily. We don't quit trusting God. There's no vacation. There's no taking leave. There's no taking vacation. There's no time off from trusting God. We went on to establish clearly that trusting God is like breathing. You know, you don't say, I breathed yesterday. I'm not going to breathe today. You don't say, I'm going to hold my breath for as long as the whole day. And you think you're going to stay alive. You begin to die if you stop breathing. And so we established that from the Word of God. And we read primarily from Proverbs 3, verses 5 through 6. We shared that, you know, the Bible says, trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will and He shall direct your path. We established that trusting God is having your confidence, your hope, and your security in the Lord. And we established that trusting in the Lord, one of the ways you can define that, you can make that practical, is trusting in the Word. If you're not trusting in the Word, you're not trusting in God or in the Lord. And so one of the ways you can trust in God or you can claim to be trusting in God is by trusting in His words, by valuing and esteeming His Word above any other thing that you know or you can think of. And so when you do that, simply because God and His Word are one. John 1.1 says, you know, in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. So that establishes clearly that trusting God is something that is synonymous with trusting in His Word. So I wanted to just encourage you to believe God and trust God because, man, it's powerful. We also established that trusting God is a heart thing. It's not something you do in your head. It's something you do in your heart. It's a heart thing. Faith, trust, believing, all those are heart things. We also established leaning not on our own understanding. It means trusting and leaning on to the wisdom and understanding that comes from God. And of course, if it comes from God, then it comes from His Word. We established that as well. We talked about what acknowledging means. And we said acknowledging is simply perceiving, discerning, and having acquaintance of considering the Lord is giving ear to the Lord. That's what it means in that passage. We established and talked about Isaiah 31, verse 1, which says, Woe unto them that go down to Egypt for help and stay on horses and trust in chariots, because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong. But they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord. And so we established that as well. And we say that trusting the Lord here, the word trust is used interchangeably with the word look upon. And so we established that, well, trusting God is looking upon the Lord. And we say this is not saying take out a picture of the Lord Jesus and put it in front of your face and look upon it. This is literally saying to see with your eyes, to see and look with your eyes. And so this is what this is talking about here. And so we established that, that anything else that you trust that is not God, you are instead looking to it. If you look, sorry, whatever you're looking at is whatever you're trusting. So if you're trusting and going down to Egypt or going down to the world, you are trusting, you are putting your hope, your confidence in the things of the world. And we established that that's not going to bring you any victory. It's not going to bring you losses and sufferings. All right, moving along here. The point I want to establish about trusting God is remembering the name of the Lord. The Bible says in the book of Psalm 20, verse 7, say some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we will remember the name of the Lord. So this passage here also reveals a lot about trust and teaches another thing about trust. Trust, the word trust is used interchangeably with the word remember. So we can say to trust God is to remember God, is to remember the name of the Lord. Now this is not talking about, okay, how do you remember the name of the Lord? Let's make it practical. A lot of people may think you remember the spelling of J-E-S-U-S or you remember the spelling of G-O-D. I remember. No, this is talking about more than that. Trusting the Lord practically or trusting in the name of the Lord here, remembering the name of the Lord is remembering His character, His nature, His reputation, His goodness, His fame, His glory, His position, His authority. Remembering His faithfulness, remembering His wonderful works, His mercy, His grace, His provision, His power, His deliverance, His healing. Every good thing that the Lord does in our lives, when we remember that, we are remembering Him. We're remembering His name. And so this is saying, you know, some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we will remember the name of the Lord. Or you can say accurately that we will trust the name of the Lord. In other words, if you're not reflecting and pondering and recalling, bringing back to memory or remembrance what God has done in your life, His faithfulness in your life, you cannot trust Him. You're going to put your trust in chariots. You're going to put it in horses. You're going to put it in all these external things. But I encourage you to maybe just take time and think about what God has done in your life, where He's brought you from, where He's taken you from. And as you do that, your trust meter will continue to shoot up and then you'll grow your trust muscles and you'll be able to believe God even in bigger and greater things. I also established in the beginning that, I mean, trusting God is not just for difficult times. It's not just you waking up and saying, man, it's rough, I'm going to believe God. No, you have to be trusting God, not just in difficult times, but also in the easy times. You have to be trusting God in the good and the bad and the ugly as well. You have to be trusting God at all times. It's a constant. You don't quit trusting God. You don't come to a place and say, I've arrived. You don't have to trust God no more. No. Trusting God is something that you have to embrace as a lifestyle, something that you cannot quit, something that you should not stop, but you have to intentionally continue to trust the Lord. And so if you understand what I just said there, you understand that trusting the Lord is remembering the name of the Lord. And I've established that the name of the Lord is not talking about the spelling. All the name of the Lord is talking about more than that. The name represents His nature, His character, His authority, His goodness, His faithfulness, His actions, which John, which Acts 10, 38 tells us. You know, He went about doing good, healing all the oppressed of the devil, for God was with Him, remembering those good things that Jesus went about doing. And you are remembering the name of the Lord when you do that. So that's a very clear thing right there. And so I'm just encouraging you from the book of Psalm 20, verse 7, that you've got to trust, some trust in chariots, in their armies, in their airplanes, warplanes I should say, all these things, and their forces, and all that kind of stuff. For us, we will remember, or we will trust Him in the name of the Lord because we've seen Him deliver us. We've seen victories written by the Lord, supernatural victories, and all these other things. So again, understanding that will really set you free, Now, let's talk about this also. You know, what does trusting God also look like? It looks like, you know, if you want to see, let me say it this way, if you want to see, you know, an example of someone that trusts in God, you want to look at the life of David in many ways, and one of the ways, maybe what I want to bring up here, is that David trusted God for promotion. He never took promotion, and wanted to become king in his own hands, wanting to murder and kill. King Saul, he recognized that the Lord was the one that called him, the Lord was the one to promote him. He did not take it in his own hands. And so, if we are trusting God, then we're going to let God promote us. A lot of people are saying they're trusting God, but they're really doing it in their own strength. They're kicking down everybody in front of them, elbows left, right, I mean, they're just crushing every single person in front of them. They're stepping on them to get ahead. I mean, if you're doing stuff like that, truly, truly, truly, you're not trusting God. But we see from the life of David, when he had an opportunity to kill King Saul three times, David had a clean shot. He had a clean opportunity to take out King Saul, to put him to permanent sleep. He did not do that. Why? Because he was trusting God. And that's a good example of a person that's trusting God to promote him. David could have done that. People could have sided with him and said, you know what, the man wanted to kill. I mean, you name it, David refused to take it into his own hands and kill the man to become king the next day. He refused to promote himself. So, in other words, David was trusting God. So, if we're trusting God, we let God promote us. Now, when we hear the word promotion, a lot of people think of pay raise and think of new job title or something like that. Well, that's a little bit about promotion, but that's not what promotion really is. Promotion is bigger than that. Promotion is new levels of influence, impact and provision to advance the kingdom of God. I can name this on and on, but man, it's bigger than a pay increase. It's bigger than a change of job title and all these kind of things. It's bigger than that. But all I'm trying to put across here is that when you are trusting God, you're not going to bring promotion, take promotion in your own hands. You're going to let God promote you. God is the best promoter. You want to let him to promote you. In order for you to do that, you have to recognize that man, God is the one that does that and you have to put your hope and trust in him and let him do it for you. So, that's a clearly established. Let me make another point here from the book of Psalm 37 verse 3. The Bible says, Trust in the Lord and do good and so shall thou dwell in the land and verily thou shalt be fed. This says, trust in the Lord and do good. So what does trusting in the Lord look like? Trusting in the Lord means to do good. If you're not doing good, even in the midst of the difficult times, when someone is trying to hurt you, when someone is trying to take you down and tear you apart and do all these ugly, nasty things to you. If you're not doing good, if you're not doing what's godly, if you're not doing what's righteous, what's right in the eyes of God and you're just trying to, man, just survive and just try to show them what you got and just make them pay and stuff, I'm telling you, this is saying you're not trusting God. If you're trusting God, you're going to do good. If you're trusting God, your heart is going to be bent towards doing the right thing and what is good is what is godly. You see? A lot of people we've all met, they say they're trusting God. They're doing the very opposite of what good is. And if you're not doing what's good, clearly you're saying you're not trusting God because trusting God is doing good. So we have to be doing good if we're going to claim that we are trusting God. There's no way to separate that. There's no way to dock that. It's something that we have to embrace. And so, man, if you understand that, that's another way you can practically trust God and stay apart and trust God. Another passage comes from the book of Psalm 118, verse 8. I think I shared this briefly, but I want to go a little deeper right now. The Bible says it's better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. The word trust here, again, is used interchangeably with the word confidence. In other words, you can accurately say that it is better to put confidence in the Lord than to put confidence in man. Or it is better to trust in the Lord than to trust in man. It is better. Some of you have been told, oh, no, you don't have to believe God or trust God. I got you. I take care of you. No, no, no. It is better to trust in God. It is better to trust in God. It is better to trust in God rather than putting our trust in man. So, why don't you want something that is better? It's clearly said here that it's better to put our trust in the Lord. And so I want to encourage you to do that. It says here, compared to man, it is better to put our trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes. Princes. He's talking about authority, those in leadership. It's better to put our trust in the Lord than to put trust in government. No matter what government can offer you, no matter what government can give you, it is better to put our trust in the Lord than into all those things. And so, this is really reminding us that our confidence is our trust. Whatever you are trusting is whatever you have confidence in. And vice versa is true. Whatever you have confidence in is whatever you are trusting. So, when we see where your confidence is at, we can tell where your trust is at. And so that's a very critical thing to work through and navigate to make sure that man, we are fully trusting God. Now, pay attention to this also. Another passage from the book of Psalm 910. Psalm 910. The Bible says, And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee. For thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. This is saying, if we are trusting in the Lord, it is because we do, sorry, if we're not trusting the Lord, it's because we do not know His name. This is just linking, knowing, and trust. You know, trust is based on knowledge. It's based on relationships. And man, I want to establish this also and say this very clearly that everything, like I said in the beginning, rises and falls on trust. Knowing a person, you know, trust has to be a factor. When you're hired, there has to be some kind of trust. When you're getting into a relationship, marriage relationship, there's trust that is involved. Everything is built on trust. So you cannot not want to walk in trust. That's the way it is. That's the way it's wired. And man, just want to embrace that and just find ways to navigate that and walk happily and peacefully in that. But man, putting trust in the Lord here is revealed as man knowing the Lord. If you know the Lord, you're going to put your trust in Him. If you have a relationship with the Lord, if you have a revelation of who God is, your natural response would be to put your trust in Him. Why? Because the faithful God is a good God. But the Bible also goes on and says, For thou, O Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. The word also, trust and seek, are again used interchangeably, meaning whatsoever you are seeking is whatsoever you're trusting. Whatsoever you're trusting is whatsoever you are seeking. So if you're not seeking the Lord, it's clear that you will not be able to trust Him because trust and seeking here, again as revealed, shows they go hand in hand. But again, when you know the Lord, when you know the Lord, when you know Him, you will trust Him. That's why it says here, That and they that know thy name will put their trust in thee, for thou, O Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. God does not forsake those that seek Him. He does not forsake them. And I'm telling you, if you're seeking the Lord, you're putting your trust in the Lord. Otherwise, you wouldn't be seeking the Lord. So, again, that establishes that very, very clearly and encourages us to step out and trust God. Again, as the subject says, trusting God, the inevitable of life. There is no forsaking that. There is no running away from it, like it or not, believe it or not. You have to believe God. You have to trust God. That's how God designed it. That's how God wired it. And so, again, Isaiah 12 verse 2, the Bible says, Behold, God is my salvation. I will trust and not be afraid. For the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song. He also has become my salvation. This passage here brings up another powerful revelation that we need to understand about trusting God. It says, they that trust God should not be afraid. Who not be afraid? I mean, so if you're walking in fear, if you're terrified and fearful, man, you need to check your trust. Where's your trust? Are you trusting in man? Are you trusting in God? Because if you're trusting in God, you have to arrive at a place where you're not afraid. You know, things may fall apart around about you, around you, but at the end of the day, you will be able to stand strong and come through because you are trusting God. Like we said in the very beginning, those that trust God are strong people. They're not weak people. They're not weak people. They are very, very strong people. So if you understand that, again, it's going to be powerful and change your life. But the Bible says this also in the book of Psalm 11 verse 1. It says, In the Lord I put my trust. How say ye then to my soul? Flee as a bird to your mountain. You can tell a person that's trusting God to flee. If you're trusting God, you should not be fleeing. Actually, there's other things that should be fleeing from you because of how powerful you are, how anointed you are. So I want to encourage you that you step out and don't let anything stop you from believing God and things cause you to fear because you are trusting in the Lord. Amen? Praise the Lord. So here, again, in the book of Psalm 37 verse 5, the Bible speaks about committing our ways unto the Lord, trusting also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. This passage is very similar to Proverbs 3 5 through 6. Nonetheless, it's saying commit thy way unto the Lord. In other words, whatever you commit, whoever I should say, whoever you commit your things, your ways to, is who you are trusting. Commit thy way unto the Lord. Trust also in Him. If you're not committing your ways unto the Lord, you're not going to be able to put your trust in Him. Those things go together and you cannot separate both of those two things. So I want to encourage you as you're committing your ways unto the Lord, man, recognize and put your trust in the Lord because man, the Lord is your victor. The Lord is your anchor. The Lord is your backer. The Lord is your victory, man. And so, again, committing our ways unto the Lord, trusting also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. Notice who brings things to pass. It's not us that bring things to pass, ladies and gentlemen. No matter how good you are, no matter how many contacts and connections you have, remember, it's not you that causes things to come to pass. It is the Lord. 1 Corinthians 3 6 says, you know, Paul planted, Apollos watered, you know, God gave the increase. So God is the one that literally gives the increase. God is the one that literally gives the increase. So this is just telling us that we should not be the ones to cause things to come to pass. Don't kick down doors so you can make things come to pass. Just let God. Just let God do it for you. I'm telling you, if you do that, it's extremely powerful, powerful and will change your life. And so, again, this is speaking about committing our ways unto the Lord. Now, there's another passage here that begins to reveal some of the benefits, so to speak, of trusting the Lord. And the first benefit here comes from the book of Isaiah 26 verses 3 through 4. Isaiah 26 3 through 4, the Bible says, thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusted in you. So, in other words, this reveals also that, man, if a mind is stayed on the Lord, it reveals that our trust is in the Lord. But, one of the benefits of trusting in the Lord and having a mind stayed upon him is perfect peace. Peace doesn't just come by prayer. Perfect peace is not a result, it's a result of trusting God. If you're trusting God, you have perfect peace. If you're not, you're not going to have perfect peace, because perfect peace comes from trusting God. So, if you are not at peace, check where your trust is. If you're not at peace, check where your trust is. It's a very critical indication that will help you to immediately get back on track and get back in the right rhythm of where you need to be. So, again, thinking about Moses here, you know the story of Moses and how, you know, Moses really believed God from the very beginning, especially in the very beginning when God called him, Exodus 14, 13-14. Moses told the people to fear not and stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, which he was going to show that day. I mean, who says that unless they're trusting God? Moses was trusting God. That's why he said things like this. This is saying that, man, if you're trusting God, you've got to let God fight for you. We all can fight for ourselves in certain ways, but, man, God is a better fighter. We need to let God and allow God to fight on our behalf. He won't mess things up, but if we fight on our own behalf, man, we are most likely going to cause a mess and, man, it truly indicates that we're not trusting God. So, if you're really trusting God, then you've got to let God fight for you. It says, The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. What else do you want? He just told you the Lord shall fight for you. So, again, this comes from a place of trusting God. We have to be trusting God for the Lord to fight for us and for us to hold our peace. So, I would encourage you, again, to continue to trust God, to continue to believe God, because that's the way we receive from him. So, again, moving along here, the Bible says in the book of Jeremiah, chapter 17, verse 7 through 8, it says, Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord. Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord. So, man, if you're trusting in the Lord, you are blessed. You are super, super, super blessed. No matter what people say, you are blessed if you are trusting in the Lord. Now, that's not very difficult to understand, but yet it's very simple and powerful. You know, many times you're seeking for a blessing, you're seeking for this, you're seeking for that. Well, no, no, no. It says, Blessed is the man. In other words, God set it in motion. As long as you trust in him, you are blessed instantly. So, blessed is that man that trusts in the Lord and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaves shall be green, and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall seeds from yielding fruit. So, this is speaking about letting God fight for us and not doing things in our own strength. Proverbs 16, 20 says, He that handles a matter wisely shall find good. And whosoever the Lord whoso trusts in the Lord, happy is he. Happy is he. Whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he. Happy is he. So, are you trusting in the Lord? Well, let me ask this way. Are you happy? If you're not happy, check your trust. Are you trusting in man or are you trusting in the Lord? Because if you're trusting in the Lord, happy will you be. Happy will you be if you're trusting in the Lord. The Bible reveals this. It's a very critical passage right here. So, how do you handle a matter wisely? It says, He that handles a matter wisely shall find good. How? Well, it's impossible without trusting and depending upon the Lord. You have to depend and trust the Lord to be able to handle a matter wisely. But this is saying that he that trusts in the Lord, not only is he going to handle the matter wisely and find good, happy is he. Happy is he. Hallelujah. That's powerful if you really understand what I just said there. So, Proverbs 28, 25, the Bible says, He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife, but he that putteth his trust in the Lord, in the Lord, puts his trust in the Lord, not in man, in the Lord, shall be made fat. So, if you're fat, you have a scripture to stand on. You have been believing God, you know, and He has made you fat, not skinny. Amen. Praise God. The opposite of this says that, you know, they who do not trust in the Lord, will be made skinny. You know, if you understand what I'm saying, yeah, this is quite funny because at the end of the day, this is just saying, man, just put your trust in the Lord and you shall be made fat. Fat is not talking about your size. It's talking about your territory being expanded and increased, your influence, your domain of provision and all these good things. Fattiness, right? More than enough. Amen. So, that's what this is really bringing out. So, in Proverbs 29 verse 25, the Bible says, the fear of man brings a snare, but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. Whosoever puts his trust in the Lord shall be safe. Trust in the Lord shall be safe. Are you looking for safety? Well, put your trust in the Lord. Luke 9, put your trust in the Lord. Safety is in trusting God. Safety is in believing God. Safety is having a confidence in God. If we're not having a confidence in God, we are not fully trusting God. And this is a very critical thing here, as well. Amen. People are seeking for safety elsewhere, but safety is found in trusting God. Safety is found in being in the will of God. Safety is found in doing what's Godly, what's right, what God has called you to do, what God has anointed you to do. That's where safety is. Doing it elsewhere takes us from a place of safety. Let me say it this way. Not putting our trust in the Lord just takes us from a place of safety. So, I want to encourage you, again, one more time, to put your trust in the Lord. So, that will bring us briefly to the end of our part two of this message of trusting God, the inevitable of life, and then we will be coming back next time, and we'll be sharing on part three. Amen. So, I'm really glad that you joined in, and man, you're loving this, and praise God. Man, we love to hear from you, and blessings to you. Did you know that good people don't go to heaven? I'm telling you, you're gonna go to heaven. People like me, I'm gonna go to heaven, and I'm gonna look for good people, and I will not find them there. It causes a person to go either to heaven or to hell. It's not their goodness or their badness. Yes. It is their faith in Jesus. The question is this. Did you believe on Jesus? Prayer, it's not. I repeat, number one, it's not a time to petition God. Yes. It's a time where you go in and you focus on fellowship with God. Prayer is worship. It's worshiping God. Hi. My name is Rich Konyali. Many of you have heard me teach God's Word here on radio. You've also known me in the past as a director of an international ministry here in Uganda. I have also directed the Bible College. I have pastored for several years in the U.S., and I've taught in Bible colleges both in the U.S. and here in Uganda. My program, God Questions, God Answers, is gonna be airing every Wednesday here on radio, 6 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. Again, that's 6 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. I would encourage you to please tune in, and you will be surely blessed. I love you, and God bless you.
