did what they did wait a minute in tennessee yesterday they were so lost and needed help i'm so sorry i haven't seen any news i was pretty busy yesterday please forgive me what happened yesterday in tennessee please i did i didn't watch any news i haven't seen anything what happened in tennessee anybody anybody good morning good morning good morning watch that jesus revolution movie was good right wasn't it uh there was a shooting oh my my my a woman killed three a woman killed three children and three adults in a school a christian school wow oh i'm sorry i i just you know it is sad it is sad but folks it is sad but let me share something with you people are hurting they're a loss they're they're they're they're in the sea of hopelessness and it was about what we were talking about yesterday you know uh matter of fact let's let's let's look at that isaiah 26 3 oh i'm gonna leave what i was going to talk about this morning but folks we we we we we need to help some people we need to help some people isaiah 26 verse 3 you will keep me in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because what we trust and you see there are people that don't have trust they don't know what to trust in they can't trust in the media they can't trust in the media they can't trust in their government they can't trust in their their neighbor they can't trust in in the ideologies of the world they are lack of trust but we as christians somebody said this to me yesterday and and i didn't think about it but we as christian folks have to be influencers not just pastor paul on tiktok but each one of you has a responsibility to be an influencer on people's lives each one of you you you what if it's if it's a stay-at-home parent you are there to influence your children if it's working at the bank you're there to influence not only the people that come in to do business with the bank but your co-workers maybe you are a nurse maybe you work at amazon maybe you work at the post office maybe you work at the supermarket you and i are there to influence people because people are without hope my heart goes out that somebody went into a school with a weapon and hurt some people that is a very sad scenario but there are so many people ricky rosa one of the the minister in our church sent me a video of in oregon of a young man who came into a school to shoot it and the security guy somehow got him but he did not wrestle to him to the ground in physical violence but he embraced him in love and the young man kept saying i didn't want to hurt anybody but he was without hope folks people are without hope this is why you get on in the morning on these lives because you need a word of hope from god's word you need a message of hope because faith comes by hearing hearing by the word of god and you come this morning so that you can get that so that you can be fortified in the course of your day not to hear me but to hear god's word because i'm sure some of you when you get off on here you'll go listen to someone else and you listen to a podcast you are continuously in your work because that is where your hope is coming from once again the verse you will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you you trust in god but now you have to be an influencer and let people know that your hope cannot be in your political affiliation it can't be within you know the community membership association it can't be in an organization with regards to lgbt or this or that or so on etc and i'm not trying to pick on a group i'm just trying to tell you that our hope is from god it's from god there's no perfect peace in this world man's ideology his philosophy his his his ologies are corrupt because of the sin nature folks my hope i'm 60 years old i am saddened by the events that i hear that take place from day to day but my hope comes from the lord perfect peace amen comes from the lord there's nothing in this world that you can say is perfect nothing but our hope and our perfect peace can only come from the lord folks pray for me i've been monitoring my blood pressure and for the last year it's just been like high and i don't know why but i do know why because sometimes i get worried about the things i see i get worried about the pain i hear i get worried about the sadness but then i have to go in my word and i say lord bring me that perfect peace calm my body down allow me to believe and trust in you lord but folks we're going to see this kind of stuff more and more and more but we need to be influencers we need to be influencers that and once again i i associate when i hear that word influence i associate that with platforms i associate with that with tiktok i associate that with you know uh uh instagram or facebook no we need to be godly influencers every day in our life so people can hear the message that god has for them just thinking how sad that another school shooting is taking place but i'm telling you folks let's not get on our high horse and judge we don't know what that person's going through and that's another thing folks everybody on this app let me take my glass though because i don't even want to read the comments i want you to hear this everybody on this app you have a story everyone that is coming across my screen you have a story it might be a a a a divorce it might that might be something that happened to you it might be a loss of a parent as a young child it might have been molestation it might have been your story might have been everything was fine but i didn't feel like my parents loved me your story might have been you know i was in a foster home and you know no one cared about me your story might have been you know i've been married a couple times and i and and and and i just can't seem to find the right person your story might be i'm i'm i've always struggled with my weight your story might be i've always struggled with the way i look your story might be you know something that that that no one can relate to but you and everyone has a story and we don't know what that breaking point is for some people we don't know what they're struggling with from day to day i know professional people that have their education that have the finances that appear to that everything is going on going well but they're dealing with past pain they're dealing with past circumstances and situations they're dealing with things that they were hurt from as a young person and as a 30 year old or a 40 year old or a 50 year old or 60 they are dealing with those circumstances now but my point is we have to quit judging people and start loving on some folks even the person i thank you you came on and said we need to pray for the folks in tennessee because that person was hurting people are hurting and we are going to keep on seeing uh shootings we're going to see violence we're going to see these things taking place because people are without hope they're without hope you and i our hope is in the lord our hope is in his word our hope is is is trusting in him that's where my hope comes from and if i can be affected by the media if i can be affected by the news if i can be affected by all the negativity what is a person going through who doesn't have a relationship with the lord what is a person going through that doesn't know the word of god that that no one's loving on them no one's speaking into their life no one's influencing them what are they going through we got to put ourselves in their shoes and quit being judgmental quit being so self-righteous and start praying for them start petitioning uh before the throne of grace uh with that access that you boldly received from jesus christ with regards to them start praying for them start going before god on behalf of your neighbor start going before god with regards to your family members you don't know what they're going through you don't know what they're dealing with you don't know their struggles you don't know the burden that they carry day in and day out because you're so hopeless they're hopeless and my heart is so heavy this is why we see and i'm not condoning people who go in a school and shoot up innocent people i'm not condoning people hurting other people but i understand there's a reason for these things happening and we as influencers need to influence those people and love them and embrace them and hug them and let them know that god loves them maybe their parents didn't love them maybe they were abused maybe they were hurt maybe they were abandoned and and they could have had a great childhood but what if that maybe maybe they got married to who they thought was the perfect person and that individual verbally abused them physically beat them violated them and their self-worth just left the building their self-value is not there they believe they're not valued so how does a loving god allow this to happen to them we need to pray for them we need we need to go beyond and and and be available and and and you know what folks i'm going to be honest with you the church has been called to do these things the church has been called i when i go over there at ace there's there's a there's a lady there who for whatever strange reason she just laid her story down her ex-husband tried to kill her she had to leave the state that she lived in because her ex-husband in his insecurities literally tried to kill her by choking her and she tells me my whole life has been abusive she tells me even the so-called christian home i raised and she goes she goes it was a cult she said there was no love in my house she says we had all the material goods we had a big house we had cars we had planes we had everything that anybody can only imagine she was but we did not have god they had i'm gonna just say it like it is this she said i was lds and it was a cult she was but i always knew god loved me but my self-worth my self-value she was i didn't love myself i didn't care because my family didn't love me my relatives didn't love me my siblings didn't love me so my self-love how could a loving god she would ask herself how would a loving god allow this to happen to me folks that's a reoccurring story and some of you some of you might be in that same situation people are hopeless and we need to influence them we need to let them know that they they are somebody valuable in the eyes of god we need to let them know that jesus went to the cross not only for for for them but also for all of us you need to let them know that that that god loves you and your circumstance and your situation can be used to give god all the glory see that's all the things that happen to us we can take that and declare the devil a liar we can take those things that have happened to us and say the reason i'm here today the reason i'm standing the reason i'm talking the reason i'm sharing is by the grace of god that he brought me from there to here and i will give god all the glory and all the praise someone might say well wait a minute why would your loving god allow that to happen to you because god has placed me in front of you today to help you and if god can help me and he can do it for me he can do the same for you and this is why we have these things that happen to us so that we can help each other when i was in the military we used to run in formation we'd go up and down the beaches in san diego and we would run in formation and when somebody would lag back we would double back and circle them so they caught their breath that they could catch up with us we would not leave an individual behind and that is the christian walk we cannot leave people behind we've got to circle back and say man i'm going to help you i'm going to wait for you i'm going to give you my arm i'm going to give you my hand i'm going to give you my shoulder you know yesterday i was in the garage i was doing some tile work and i was listening to an old song from the 70s and i can't remember the song but basically the the writer of the song was just just basically begging for peace he was begging for love he was he was begging for for his brothers and sisters to lend him a hand isn't that the christian call when jesus said when when i and i know i'm going to take it out of out of out of uh uh the way it came but did not jesus say when i was in prison you came and visited me when i when i was thirsty you gave me water when i was hungry you gave me food when when i needed clothing you gave me clothes didn't jesus say that when i was in need when i was without when i was hurting when i was freezing when my stomach was was growling because i hadn't ate in a day or two days or three days or whatever that is when i was in the hospital sick and didn't even know if i was going to make it out of the hospital you fed me you gave me water you visited me you clothed me and then what did they say they said lord when did we ever have to do any of these things to you when did this ever happen to you he said if you did it to the least of mine you did it to me we as christians we have been called to love so we need to get off our self-righteous high horse we need to make it a point to check on your neighbor to check on your friend to listen to them and say i'm here i'm present i'm listening i care about you don't come with with a judgmental spirit don't come with an i-know-everything attitude come to be a listener come to say i'm here to listen to what you're going through i'm here to listen to what you're dealing with and i'm here to hug you and embrace you and embrace you you know the greatest moments in my life is when my wife has encouraged me in tough times words are powerful folks in the book of james it talks about the power of the tongue your words telling somebody it's going to be okay your words encouraging somebody uh uh that god has got a plan and i don't mean once i don't mean just twice i mean to be to to to influence that individual to influence that individual to the point that they have a smile on their face to the point that they have a peace in their heart to the point that they they say you want they look at you and say thank you thank you folks people are hurting i feel it all around me there's moments i could just break down and cry because i just see so much many people hurting but we have to influence we have to take the time to let people know that you care for them how about how about the person how about the person and i'm guilty of it how about the person that you intend to call but you haven't called how about how about how about the parent that that made you mad offended you offended you and and and and and for some strange reason you refuse to talk to them what about what about the child that has left the house and you haven't talked to them for months days months maybe in some cases years what about the person you're mad at right now and you refuse to apologize what about the individual that you had a falling out with you won't call them let's let's get rid of our pride let's get rid of the pride pride does nothing but destroy pride does nothing but separate pride does nothing but create a fall let's get rid of the pride and let's call that person let's let's call them not with a heart like they're going to have to apologize but let's call them and say i'm just calling to check on you because i love you i'm just calling on you to see how you're doing let's get past our pride time is time is winding up folks time is winding up we we don't i was looking in the book of matthew and basically said in matthew 24 basically jesus is saying are you ready let's get ready you got a problem with your brother and sister let's call them up you got a problem with that child let's call that child up i'm guilty sometimes i can i can get upset and and sometimes i can harbor a a a ill feeling with somebody and sometimes we get caught up in our moods and we get caught up in our feelings i get it i'm not here uh uh uh judging i'm just here man let's let's get past that what is that i'm going to read that bear one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of christ look above that in verse one brother if any man's overtaken and any uh trespass you who are spiritual restore such one in the spirit of gentleness consider yourself less you also be tempted let's forgive let's get in that spirit of love i choose love this this is this is a beautiful uh statement but are we choosing love are we are we truly choosing love are we choosing anger are we choosing pride are we choosing hate are we choosing selfishness we have to influence our fellow brothers and sisters and it's not your job it's not my job to make them to believe it is my job to live what i believe as a follower of christ as a disciple a disciplined student of jesus it's imperative and you want me to take you to some other waters i want you to listen hang on a friend of mine named nick came to church on sunday lambro you know nick nick and navita he came to church this was his first time in his life and he was a disciple of jesus and he was a disciple of jesus and he was a disciple of jesus and he was a disciple of jesus lambro you know nick nick and navita he came to church this was his first time entering our church he came in and he said i was going to bring two people i said well what happened he said one of them and you know before i say this do not i know you guys but there's one of you two of you on here do not take my words out of context don't you dare do this because i'm really trying to speak with the spirit of love here so please do not take out of context what i'm about to say and please do not have me banned for what i'm about to say because i want to be very sincere about the church and as a pastor my friend nick was going to bring two friends to church on sunday and i said well what happened he goes one of them is a lesbian and she felt if she came to church she would not feel comfortable no one should feel comfortable in church let me reiterate that no one feels comfortable in church now though let me break that down when the word is preached and teached and articulated and communicated there is not a soul in the room that's comfortable because when the word of god shoots it shoots like a shotgun the recoil jacks me up and then guess what the ammo the the the butt shot fires out and it hits everybody symbolically speaking so trust me when you go to church if you are living a lifestyle and let's not even take the example of a alternative lifestyle let's just take maybe the person that's consumed in alcoholism maybe the individual that's dealing with pornography maybe the individual that that that that that has a filthy mouth maybe the individual that's dealing with adultery maybe the individual that's dealing with thievery maybe the individuals that dealing with drugs maybe the individual that's dealing with some circumstance or the situation and that that word is just hitting them but guess what we don't come to church to be comfortable we come to church to hear the word and the truth and the truth in love and the love in truth but watch this if you're gay you are welcome to our church if you are a lesbian if you're lgbt you are welcome if you're an atheist you are welcome if you're agnostic you are welcome if you are a christian you are welcome if you're a non-believer you're welcome if you are black if you're a white if you're asian i don't care what your ethnicity is you are welcome in our church however the caveat is this i will not change you but when i teach the word the word of god will change you it's not my job to change you it's god's job but you will be welcome but the word of god will hit everybody there's power in the word sanctification comes through the word this is why we need the word we need to teach the word we need the spirit of love but don't go to church to be inspired that's only a small part of it don't go to church to get motivation don't go to church thinking that you're going to leave in this this this this moment of uh i feel so good and then something happens and you you you you you lose that feeling you go to church and say let the word step on my toes let the word convict me let the word renew my mind let the word transform me let the let the word uh allow me to experience progressive sanctification so that i live for god and not self see we must be we must decrease that god must increase oh see don't too many times we're going to church for the wrong reason some of us go to church so we can we we can see other people some of us go to church because it's it's it's it's a it's a it's a fashion so some of us go to church so that we can be entertained we go to church to learn of god to be disciplined students hang on church if you come to our church you'll be welcome if you come to our church come as you are but i can guarantee you watch this sunday this last sunday the praise and worship sang a song there wasn't a dry eye in the building the praise and worship one of them lost her mom not too long ago she showed up on sunday she sang with the praise and worship for the first time in weeks maybe months but weeks there's another young lady her name is stephanie she's dealing right now with the loss of her kidneys kidney function her husband's standing next to her he's supporting her in love then then you've got another young lady who who's worried about her sister who lost her kidneys but they're singing from their hearts they're they're they're proclaiming god and their praise and you could just feel the anointing and the power of god and everybody in that room had tears in our face folks that's what it's about come to our church and we will receive you in love but when the message is preached when the message is teached when the message is proclaimed it's going to hit you but i promise you this before it came out of my mouth or passed through your mouth before it came out of my mouth or pastor colman's mouth or minister ricky's mouth before it came out of our mouths it hit us first because that's what the word does the word of god changes lives folks my life the moment at 36 years old that i started delving into the bible seriously my life has changed the moment that i at 36 years old took my reading serious my life changed academically physically spiritually the moment that i cracked open ecclesiastics that was one of the first books that i started delving into ecclesiastics my life changed when i started looking in the perfect law of liberty not to not to consume that i had more knowledge than another not to consume that i had more wisdom than another that i knew more than them i i started consuming this because it gave me what i needed to know about life the origin of humanity the origin of the problems that we are doing in dealing with the solution in jesus christ now jesus went to the cross for you and i because when you really really evaluate self there's nothing good about us some of you are nicer than others some of you are sweeter than others some of you are meaner than others but we are all sinners we've all fallen short we've all missed but we are all sinners we've all fallen short we've all missed the mark and in this it lets me know that we're all sinners and we need a savior we need joshua some of you we've got to polish that you do good some of you are really kind some of you are consistent you have been consistent for 20 years 30 years 50 years six years you are just a kind person but the bible says there's none good not one and that goes for the person who went into the school that to shoot shoot it up that goes for the homeless person that's on the corner what a sign saying i'm hungry i'm hungry that goes for the same person that puts on a suit and goes into the job every day that goes for the person that drives the the amazon truck by your house that goes for the person that delivers your mail or works at the factory or is at the grocery store we're all sinners each one of us there's none good not one of us no not one because god's good and our good our night and day god's righteousness is in our righteousness no comparison but you say but pastor paul i serve god i'm a good person but you say but pastor paul what i say to that is god has shown you grace god has blessed you with grace it is god's grace that has got you here today it is by god's grace that woke you up it's by god's grace what watched over you it's by god's grace that you can study the word it's by god's grace and his mercy you say well i'm okay and i don't trust god i don't believe in god and i tell you you are even experiencing god's grace what do you mean you don't believe in god you don't trust in god you don't you don't you don't you don't you you say it's a fairy tale but you woke up to see another day you're experiencing grace god allows you to see another day when god rightfully could take your life right now because why you don't believe in him you don't acknowledge him matter of fact you you you mock him that's god's grace so people ask me all the time prove there's a god it's not a hard question to answer but i have to return the question back then how do you prove to me that there there there isn't a god how do you prove to me that god doesn't exist because when i see what i see i see the creator's work when i look at the mountains that surround my house i don't think they just got there i mean i i i i say god created those everywhere but let me just give you one example to prove god if each one of you would do me a favor right now what time is it oh what time is it 7 11 let let me get off here in three minutes i want each one of you to breathe breathe deep out in i want you to breathe and while you're breathing i want you to think about god in with the air out with the air and i want you to take that air deep into your lungs it says in the bible in the book of genesis that god formed man from the dust of the earth and he blew the breath of life and man became a living soul so the very breath that you breathe in and out you don't see it it has no color it has no formation you feel it when it expands your lungs you feel it when it comes out against your your your your hand if your hand is in front of your mouth if it's a cold day you can even see the frost but the very breath that you have that keeps you alive it's from the lord i keep seeing the word proof and i'm assuming you guys there's all kind of proof that god exists i just happen to have a childlike mentality and say that's god he did that i just happen to have that childlike mentality so the evidence friend the birth of a child is enough evidence for me a sunset is enough evidence for me the written word is enough evidence for me the formation of the sky the stars the moon the sun is enough evidence for me the ocean as the waves come rolling in is enough evidence for me the formation of a rock look at this rock that hole is perfect that rock right there god allowed a stone to get in there and as it sat on the beach that that hole was formed that's enough evidence for me folks just looking at my physical attributes my eyes how they work that's enough evidence for me my ears that they they can hear certain sounds and certain levels of sound is enough evidence for me i i i get a a small cut and it heals itself that's enough evidence for me the dilation of my pupils the the heartbeat beats as i sleep at night and keeps the blood flowing throughout my vascular system is enough evidence for me the ability to think and and and and understand and to reason is enough evidence for me i don't need much that's just enough right there prove there's a god you prove that there isn't a god it's too elementary for me to even respond he ransomed me that's enough evidence for me he went to the cross for me that's enough evidence for me he resurrected on the third day that's enough evidence for me he's at the right-hand side of the father that's enough evidence for me and guess what he's coming back to get us as a church and that's enough evidence for me and then when my mom and dad left this world they went home to be with the lord and that's enough evidence for me that's enough evidence folks i gotta get going i gotta go over work at ace today god's gonna use us there i'm gonna ask y'all something all right i'm not even going i'm gonna take my glasses off and i'm not our church in a very very beautiful and good way god is bringing we have a young man named jonathan and grace and jonathan grace he's he's he's this hispanic kid not that that matters and grace is is is a caucasian girl they're in their early 20s they came one time in january and they'd come every weekend they had brought a friend named daisy there's another young man named josh and his wife jenny there's a there's another young man named ricky and and and his fiancee jessica and then they're coming and they sit on the front row and they're listening and you can see god is changing their lives and they want to get plugged in they're ready to do the work something is happening and i venture to say that i believe in the power of the word and i venture to say that i believe we're going to experience revival in this ministry i venture to say that you would pray with me that revival start at southern avenue missionary baptist church i pray that you would pray with me that that that god would allow me to prepare these young men and their fiancees and their wives to take the message and to influence at grand canyon university at asu at nau at u of a that we'll be able to influence to bring these young people in that they may hear the gospel and good news of jesus christ that god would use me as a fatherly figure to share the gospel and good news to each one of them i ask you to pray for me to pray for us to pray for our ministry that god would use us that we may declare his glory his praise his mercy his grace his son i pray that you would do that and i also pray that you would support our ministry that you will go on our website and that you would commit to our ministry with your prayers with your finance with your love if you're on here with us every morning you know camper but everything else the upkeep of the ministry when it comes to health insurance when it comes to housing when it comes to uh paying electric bill and all that that's what that will go to to because i think you want to do that but however i want to bless you as our praise and worship team to develop you so that develop the team so that our praise and worship can now go to other places and share the music i would take the excess of that income and i would keep that church open every day to make sure that the campus had people on it so that we could pray that we could feed that we could love that we can do the things god called us to do because why i want us to make influencers and then we would support every minister and every mission work that's out there that needs help and needs love that's what we would do and i'm asking you to help us and i promise you that we will account for every penny nothing will be abused nothing will be used but only for the progression of the gospel
