How God Connects 03-08-23
Two men, Pastor Paul and Bo, formed a relationship while working together at a medical device company. Initially resistant to the change, Pastor Paul was assigned to work with Bo and show him the ropes. During a trip to Tucson, they bonded and discussed various topics, but never mentioned God or Jesus. However, Bo observed Pastor Paul's interactions with others and sought to imitate his actions. This story highlights how God orchestrates events in life and the importance of consistent faith. All right, good morning everybody, got my tea and water here, all right, good morning, good morning, good morning, good morning, get my desk set up, I'm a very messy person, Ms. Debbie will tell you that, Ms. Debbie will confirm that, I'm a messy person. Good morning Ray, good to see you this morning friend. First on the scene, Mr. Boyce, good morning this morning, good to see you this morning all of you, praise God, I hope everybody's doing well, let me back that up, that's a little close, hang on, let me try to adjust this, all right, there we go, all right, Jim, good to see you this morning friend, I saw you called last night, I'll be honest with you, Ms. Reber, thank you so much, I was, it was a long day, I was at the church all day and then we had to take my daughter to the airport, she had a flight at 7 and me and Ms. Debbie went to go grab something to eat, I was just tired, even today is going to be a tough day, but praise God, tough in a good way, all right, let me say hi to everybody, good morning, Ms. Kim, good to see you this morning, amen, Ms. Karen, good to see you, Ms. Christina, Barry, how are we doing everybody, brother, please praise for my sister Alicia, 8 months pregnant, throwing up blood, oh, Father God, I come before the throne of grace, I come as a humble servant, child of God with regards to Alicia, Lord, you know the situation that is going on in her womb, you know her, what needs to be done, dear Lord, and Lord, I pray, Father God, that you would just watch over her, that you would keep her, Father, that whatever is wrong, dear Lord, that you are able to restore, that you are able to heal, Father God, I pray for her, I pray, Father, but Lord, I pray that your will be done, dear Lord, Lord, I pray that she not be discouraged, Father God, I pray that she not be, lack of faith, but Father, I pray that she and all of us keep our eyes on the cross, on you, Father, we walk by faith and not by sight, Father God, we ask this in the precious name of Jesus, amen, amen, see, I forgot about her going back, yeah, yeah, it was a long day, but she went back, I'm a little bummed out, I'm a little bummed out, I got up this morning, my routine, and her door was open to her room, and I remember, oh, why is your door open, let me go check on her, and I forgot she wasn't there, so praise God, good morning, Ms. Joanna, good to see you this morning, good to see you this morning, Ms. Christina, I pray for my mom to get good, a good deal for her implant teeth today, well, I pray in the name of Jesus that this individual's mom gets a good deal, amen, nothing wrong with that, the Bible lets us know that we're to pray for everything, everything, and so with that being said, amen, well, you know, this is going to be Pastor Paul's story time, let me cover a few things, well, yesterday the roof got on, the news came out, I'm sure some of you saw the little news clip, yeah, are we studying the word today, ready, well, you know what, I'm going to tell a story today, it's going to be story time today, so there you go, but the roof is completed, and it looks fabulous, the news team came out, and they interviewed me, the interview was short, my wife's like, really, all your intellect, your education, being a professional corporate man, and all you could say, being punked, I'm like, yeah, that's all that came to mind, but when I said, when they asked me, they were interviewing me, the guy, I just said, well, you know, I should have said something like, oh, well, is this a scam, but I said, are we getting punked, all the guys behind him all started laughing, so it's all I could think of at the moment, you know, you're sort of caught off guard, it's funny when a camera goes on, how you get nervous, but the roof is completed, and man, it looks great, and I thought it was a little short, no, it was short, matter of fact, he interviewed me with three questions, and like, you know, tell us about yourself, tell us about the history of the church, tell us about the roof, and a couple other things, but they cut it down, but you know what, that's okay, it was really about spotlighting the company that did the roof, and that was Titan Roofing Construction, it was really about them, so I was really, really pleased with that, and the roof is done, so we're excited about that, and I just praise God, Miss Debbie, she woke up this morning and she sent me a Facebook thing, somebody had commented on Facebook, and so of course, people here in Arizona saw it, the interview with the news, and I, so long story short, if you all remember, I'm adopted, and my mother, biological mother's family live in Flagstaff, they're from Flagstaff, the Estrella family, and I, over the course of the years, I've gotten to meet them, and they're very sweet people, and so, you know, it was very interesting, one of the cousins had commented on Facebook, something to the degree, and I paraphrase, something to the degree of, yeah, that's great, I wanted to go to his church one time, and he wouldn't let me go because I was family, and I don't want to be a part of a minister or a guy who supposedly shares the word when I'm losing my religion, won't let me go to his church, he can pick and choose, and I was like, Miss Debbie was just upset, she was just like, really, and I said, well, you do know why I didn't want, at that time, I didn't want him to come, and she says, yeah, your father was alive, my father of 93, who didn't want me to find my adopted family, I did it anyway, and my father of 93, I didn't want to hurt him, so this relative, biological relative, and I don't know, gets on Facebook, and just says these negative things, and Miss Debbie was just upset, and I told her, I said, well, I tell you what, I'm doing the Klan's work, wow, wow, let's just see, nothing sadder than seeing a brother doing the Klan's work for them, that is about the silliest remark I've ever heard, and I shouldn't even pay you any attention, and I tell you what I'm going to do, that I shouldn't pay you attention, let's see, first, okay, let's see something here, we're going to fix this, make sure that we, boom, we don't have to deal with your silliness, okay, we're going to get rid of that, because there's nothing, nothing, nothing more, wow, let's just move on, okay, I'm so sorry, but Miss Debbie was upset when she saw that, and I said, babe, you can't allow, you cannot allow people to bug you, as I now catch that, and it bugs me, I said, you can't allow people to bug you, baby, it is what it is, and so I said, if the young man would have reached out and called me, and said, why can't I attend, I would have explained to him, and to be honest with you, that might have been in 2013, 2014, a long time ago, and I'll be honest with you all, I can't even tell you what I ate two days ago, more or less remember what took place in 2013, 2014, so Miss Debbie, keep her in prayer, she loves her husband, and she wants to protect me, so keep her in prayer, alright, guys, I haven't drank coffee in like five days, I've been sticking with water and lemon juice, I don't have any stories, like I feel like running a marathon or anything, but I'm just trying to fight drinking as much coffee, so keep me in prayer, alright, do we got everything covered, we talked about the roof, oh, remember, go on our webpage, you know, our website is under construction, and go ahead and register and sign up so that we can connect it, someone offered to help us with our webpage or our website to redo blah blah, we don't need anybody, we got Jim Taylor, he's handling it, and I say this with all love and gentleness, over the years, no one has reached out and said, can we help you with your website or anything like this, now we've got a guy that's committed and loves, don't you love the Dutch sweater, we need, Google reviews need it, love that sweater, that's from my, Kiana, my daughter, who works at Dutch Bros, how do you know it's Dutch Bros, oh, it says it, nevermind, I didn't know that, so, yes, but, thank you for offering, but we've got somebody that's helping us with our website, alright, good morning, everybody, handmade, oh, I'm not gonna go, soapery, wait a minute, handmade, so you make soap, I go to, I go to Starbucks, since I've quit in coffees, I haven't, I go to Starbucks, I'm not a Dutch Bro guy, it's not good, I do, wait a minute, you, okay, wait a minute, wait a minute, just a second, I wanna do something here, I, okay, I wanna talk to you then, hang on, cold, hang on, I want, how do I invite you to talk, how do we do that, I want, let's do this, we're gonna, we're gonna find about handmade soap, this is what, okay, invite, there we go, we're gonna find out about a handmade soap, if this person is not at work, I wanna hear this process, anybody wanna hear about, Jim, laugh out loud, well, I just sent you an invite, how do we do that, I thought I did, let's do it again, okay, live with others, let's see, I don't wanna do that, I just sent you an invite, I wanna, I wanna hear about handmade soap, I invite it, okay, I just invited this individual, I wanna hear too, right, she needs to join, okay, I'll level it, join, join, join, join, but she might be at work, we won't put that kind of a hand, handmade, handmade by, we're gonna hear about handmade soap, okay, this is cool, all right, I can hear you, how are you doing this morning, I'm doing so good, Pastor Paul, how are you, I'm good, what is your first name, my name is Lacey, Lacey, I'm gonna write that down so to make sure I call you Lacey, Lacey, tell us about handmade soap, I wanna hear about this. Honestly, it's kind of a cool story, it started with COVID, no one in my family had ever owned a business, and it sounds kind of wild for folks that aren't Christians, but I was literally laying in bed one morning, and I kind of dabbled with soap making years ago, and I woke up one morning, it was doodles loud, I was looking out my window and just waking up, and I literally heard the Lord's voice tell me, you're gonna make soap, and I laughed, and I was like, yeah, right, and he's like, no, you're gonna make soap, buy what you need to start, and so I bought what I absolutely needed, I researched how to do an LLC, open my own business, get the insurance, do everything you need to do to start a business, and within the first eight months, I'd made about $19,000 in soap and lotion, I'm dead serious, it just kind of came out of nowhere, and so I haven't been able to do it as much this year as I've wanted to, I want to get back to it, I work for Willamette National Cemetery too, so there's a lot of service that happens there, and I work six days a week doing that, and like 100 hours a week, so that's really taken up a lot of my time lately, but I want to get back to it, I haven't had a release in a while, but I never expected it to take off the way that it did, and we had a whole, during COVID, everyone was like, well, soap, that's a brilliant idea, and I just didn't think of it like that, there's a lot of people that have a lot of skin allergies and things that they struggle with, and when you make soap, anything that you buy out of the store is a detergent, it's not a real soap, this is basic stuff, it's got five ingredients, and so I've seen a lot of people that had skin issues have that completely turn around for them, so that feels good when you do something that you enjoy and that's artistic and that's fun to do, but you're also helping folks while you do it. Now Lacey, so tell us this process, how does this work, how do you make soap, what do you do? So, it's kind of scary, there's lye, and so a lot of people hear lye and they're terrified of it because it is a very caustic ingredient, but when you mix it properly with oils and butters, you get soap, so you mix your lye and you add it to whatever oils and butters that you choose for your particular recipe, and then you mix it together, you add whatever ingredients you want, you can add collodial oatmeal to it, fragrance, natural dyes if you want, whatever you would like, you pour it into a mold or shape it however you want, and then it cures for four to six weeks and you've got soap. Wow, that is, you caught me because my wife, myself, not that we do, but we love natural stuff, you know, we think that's really cool, when I saw them, I'm like, you make soap, who makes soap, that's cool, I love it, that's, you know, I have, and this is going to sound funny, but I haven't used toothpaste in almost seven months now, my wife made this toothpaste concoction that's natural, and I tell you what, I forgot what the powder was, but it, my teeth had been better, and so we tried it, and that's cool that you make soap, that is awesome. Yeah, no, I'm trying, the toothpaste is actually really popular, and I tried some natural ones, and you would be surprised, like you said, how much better your teeth and skin and natural stuff, you would be surprised how much it helps your body, and when you compare it to what you were using before that's out of the store that's filled with chemicals, it's a world of difference, so I'm just blessed that I got to do something I really enjoy that ended up being something somewhat fruitful and that I can enjoy doing that also helps folks, so I mean, I never seen that coming, and I'm blessed, and I still enjoy doing it, and yeah, no, I can't complain at all, it's, there's a lot to learn, I will put it that way, because if you don't do it properly, you can burn someone, there's a lot of science behind it, and I had to take, when I first initially learned, it was a couple of years worth of learning before you actually do it. Now here we go, we've got some people here that are saying, add the link to the soap, so you're busy, but just in case, you're saying, add the link, and you know, and get that chance, then all of a sudden when you get that opportunity to make some more soap, I think you got some folks that are interested, including myself. Awesome, excellent, yeah, I'll be making some here hopefully soon, so I have a couple racks that are drying right now, but yeah, typically a release, I usually put about 3,000 bars out, and it's not uncommon that it sells out in about two or three hours. Are you serious? Yeah. That's for the sake of average bar cost? About $8. Okay. And then some of them get really intricate, I'll do piping, like a cake on them, some of them I put geodes on the top, it is artistic, it is very decorative, so, and there's a lot of times I'll take some of the proceeds and put it towards the animal shelters that are local in the area, there's times that I've had bars that didn't turn out as pretty as I wanted, but there's still nothing wrong with them, so I'll bulk them up and take them to my church, and tell them, hey, spread this out wherever you need it, so yeah, there's a lot of different things I do with it besides just selling it, so a lot of times I'll donate and do things that way too, so. I love it. Well, everybody, you heard it, we were talking about natural soap, please follow her, get on her list, she said what, sells out pretty quick when she makes it, and she'll have some coming out soon, but thank you, Ms. Lacey, for sharing that with us. You're welcome. I so appreciate you every morning, I get up to listen to you and you really just start my day right, I so appreciate you guys. Well, God is good, God is good, I just happen to be the vessel being used at that moment. Awesome. Thank you so much, Pastor Paul. Okay, hey, take care. You too. All right. Bye-bye. Okay. Wow, I love it, organic soap, y'all, I love that, I love that. God told her that you're going to make soap and then she does it and God blesses her. Praise God. I wanted to hear that story, I wanted to hear that story. All right, everybody, let's share a story that I want to, just want to share with you. It's about a friend of mine named Bo, I hope Bo's listening, I know he's out and about, he's a medical device representative, I won't say what company, but Bo. So let's backtrack, let's tell you a little history about Bo and myself. I don't know, and I might be wrong on the timeframe, but I think I'm pretty close, but the year was about 2012 and I was working for a company that brought a new device to market and I was working for them and so we were bought out by a bigger company, I will say that company, the company is called Cryolife, we were bought out by a company called Cryolife. Now this story is with regards to how God is orchestrating things in your life. This story is with regards to, oh, everybody, there's a hand made by Hanson Soapery, right there, that's who you follow, that's the young lady that makes that natural soap, go ahead and give her your phone right there, all right? So this story is with regards to some of you right now, you're not sure what God is doing in your life. You're not sure how God is working something out. And you have to be consistent in your walk with the Lord. You have to be, you know, focused on what you're doing daily. And basically in this story, you're going to see how a relationship between two men just blossomed into something incredible. But watch this. So like I say, I was working for a medical device company and we got bought out by an organization or company called Cryolife. And so I remember working for Cryolife under my boss at that particular time, her name was Donna. And so after about eight or nine months, Donna had made the announcement that we were going to be, I was going to be transitioned to another department, that my boss was going to be a local guy here in Arizona. Well, I was just kicking and screaming, I'm like, I just don't like change. I didn't want to go work for this other guy. I didn't know him. I had already worked for the same manager for many years, and I just didn't want to, I didn't want to. And so finally, I had to, you know, conform to what was going to take place. And I started working. And so this manager within the first month, he says, Hey, I've got, I need you to do me a favor. I need you to work with this guy named Bo. He's a new guy. He just came on board. And I'm like, yeah, he goes, so he's their local in Arizona. He goes, and you guys need to go to Tucson together to meet a physician down there. And I want you to show him the ropes and what you do and understand the device. Well, I was like, okay. So I remember that night before, I said, Lord, you gave me this job. You've given me this opportunity. Remember guys, we're going to go out and share the gospel. We're going to go out and baptize. We're there to display the love of God. So I'm saying, Lord, use me today that I may display your glory, that I may give you all the praise, that I may give you all the worship. And so I remember Bo and I, I think we met at a key point, may it be a Starbucks or I'm not really sure. So we could take one car to Tucson, Arizona, which is about from where we were at, was about a two hour, two and a half hour drive. So I meet him, real nice guy. He's, he's at that time, he's in his twenties. He's new. He's smart. He's just, he's just married, just newborn and had a baby. And it's just, it's just a good introduction. I really liked this guy. And we, we, on the way there, we just talk about everything. We talk about family, we, you know, we talk about, you know, sports. We talk about the company. We talk about the device. And so nothing was ever mentioned about God, nothing was ever mentioned about Jesus, but we were just enjoying each other's company as we went to Tucson. And so, you know, we went to Tucson and he saw how I interacted with physicians and the technicians and the nurses and the staff and just, he just watched how I reacted and what he was trying to do. He was, his, his, his, his objective was to imitate everything I did for the company. Did you hear what I said, folks? It's going to be important what I just said there. His objective was to ride along with me to imitate everything I did with regards to the company. However, I subconsciously knew, and you should know, that people are watching you as a Christian to see how you act and react within your environment. People are watching you. They're looking at you. You say, or you might not have even said you're a follower of Christ. You might not have ever said that you are a Christian, but people are watching you. They're listening to you. And it shouldn't be, watch this, wait a minute, wait a minute. It shouldn't be a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a,
