Hello, you're listening to Radio Odal FM 100,3. My name is Amelia and I am in 10th grade. Today we are with Sohana, Natalia and Hovi, who are in 8th grade, and we will be talking about Christmas in Poland, Iceland and Nepal. Natalia and me are from Poland, so we wrote about Christmas in Poland. Sohana wrote about Christmas in her country, Nepal, and Hovi wrote about Christmas in Iceland. Christmas in Poland starts on December 24th and ends on the 27th of December. We always decorate the inside and outside of the house with some lights or some Christmas decorations, such as string lights or even fake snow. We decorate the Christmas tree with some lights, Christmas balls and Christmas chains, and prepare the food for the Christmas dinner. Before the dinner, we share the wafer, make wishes for coming here, then we sit down at the table and start eating Christmas dinner. On the table, you can find red borscht with dumplings, dumplings with cabbage and mushrooms, fried carp, some vegetable salads, latin soups, cold and hot fish, patties with cabbage and mushrooms, mushroom soup or mushroom sauce, russian dumplings, greek fish, cheesecake and poppy seed cake. How many dishes do you eat at Christmas dinner? In general, we eat 12 dishes, because in Poland there were 12 apostles. Everyone must at least try these 12 dishes. After eating Christmas dinner, the children go to look under the Christmas tree to see if there are any presents and then unwrap them. Some people sing Christmas carols or go to church for midnight mass. That's what Christmas looks like in Poland. Now we will be putting on Polish Christmas music for us to listen.
