I was thinking about men, women, and fashion, and I was like, I think I've seen more men put up with, you know, outfits, rather than young women, based on what I've seen. I mean, I was expecting it also, you know, I think when I came to, like, do work, and the women would be like, that's wrong, etc. I was ready for it, I mean. And it's not like it's an opinion I really held to heart, I just, you know, mess it up. Yeah, because I just came around and found out men can create this concept. But to this day, I've been talking about fashion, and it's different from what I was looking for, but yeah, this is the journey we should be on. At this particular period in my journey, I'm thinking about fashion. So, let's talk about fashion. And I have to make it a topic of discussion today. Yeah, fashion people as well. Some of the fashionistas that have been in my network, and I feel that I'm not so knowledgeable about fashion. So, let me invite people that are into fashion right now, that know fashion, and are getting into it. So, I have Tika, and I have Greg, one of my co-authors, I was not going to introduce myself. But no, we have the culture in this podcast, the culture introduction. We only give you 10 seconds to introduce yourself. We do this because we feel like we have shorter time to introduce ourselves, we won't need to mention certain things, keep out unnecessary jargon. All right. So, I'm going to start with Dolapo. And there's this thing called fashionista. So, I think, I think I'm a fashionista. And yeah, I will agree to the fact that I'm a lifestyle artist. So, let me put it that way. I just hope I'll be able to save time for you. Wow, wow, okay. That was right on time. Lifestyle artist. That's what I'm interested in. Okay, moving on to Tika. Tika, 30 seconds. Okay. Hi, my name is Tika Kuma, and I'm a business owner, fashion. Fashion is the lifestyle that includes everything. So, that's my niche. Amazing. So, you guys are doing pretty well. Now, 10 seconds. Point. Go places. Okay. Right, so I've brought these amazing people to have this conversation. Okay, so I've brought these two amazing people to discuss fashion. I've titled this episode, Fashion in Man's Business. And I think I've kind of creeped in towards that particular point. I mean, I was... I think before we got into the content, I was telling you a bit about my background. I was telling you about this period where I was actually a model. I was thinking about, you know, pursuing fashion as like a side career or something like that. Of course, I got into tech. All of those dreams have paid. And I mean, I just thought about, again, early this year, and I was like, let's probably go back into this business of fashion, and not just the business of appearance, and of course, looking into how we can improve the fashion statement in the country here. So, I mean, I do want to talk about investing into some businesses of fashion as well. And then I started becoming more intentional about my appearance and my layers as well, and then I... Of course, because I was intentional about myself, I started intentionally looking at other people, checking out what they wear, so I can probably take some lessons from them and sort of combine these two together, and see if I can try that out, you know, something like that. And then, I saw something on the other side. I saw the people that, you know, not to be rude or anything, because, I mean, I was once like that. And then, I tried to do like a ratio between these ladies and the guys, and I felt like, I think I enjoy, and not the guy, but like, of course, if there were ladies that were really doing something amazing, sure, I've seen it too, right? I've definitely seen some ladies doing some things too. I mean, that's why we have Chika here. So, yeah, and then I was going into the business. It was starting to actually get my hand into the fashion business itself. I went to start doing some research, some market research, about how fashion businesses scale, and I realized that more men own fashion businesses than women. So, that was the first shock I got. I'm not going to speak about that realization, and I'll just put it out to you guys. I'm talking about men. I'm like, I kind of like Chika here. Men own more fashion businesses than women, but if you put this into more women, go to fashion school, and then, what exactly is going on there? Is it the business, or is it the fashion? I think right now it's the business, because if more men own fashion businesses, they're being managed by women. I mean, yeah, good managers. That's a very interesting angle, okay. So, I mean, sometimes you might have the money, but you just have to take a step back, let the women handle this thing, because you know that they're going to do a great job with the publicity, with the branding, and all of that, so, yeah. That's very interesting. So, I think what I'm trying to say, what you have just said, is that men own these businesses, not because they actually do the fashion thing, but because they have people that are actually producing the wear, in charge of design, and all of those things. I think it's a couple. What would you say to this? Do you agree with what I said, or do you think that men actually own the fashion world? Actually, I think men own it, it's like, come on, you know. Women see it as just a thing, like, they don't have to, because of the agenda, they feel they have to dress, and the way they dress, they just want to, like, dress that way. But men, the intentionality about putting those things up, and, you know, the old masculine that surrounds it, the confidence you wear, putting up that face, putting up that appearance to show about it, come on. If you do something so well, talking about you now, you fashion so well, that you want to make it a business. I think you want to manage and not own. No, let's just talk about it. Let's go there. I mean, I'm not afraid to shake any water, but I think what you have said, I think it's interesting, and it made this kind of pretty nice scenario. I have a background with fashion, I mean, when I was like, you know, being, moving into the role of that, maybe to go back into fashion, but I know I can't, I probably didn't have the time or mental ability to maybe go for shoots or stuff, that is where I can focus on keeping my appearance, and, you know, just making sure I look good. I still enjoy fashion, so instead of doing it, I want to go into it. So, talking about the business, I think that's where I agree with you. I think there, I kind of like lean towards your end. I have my money in this business also. I'm not making the bread, I'm not too tiny, I'm really not the same, but, I'm making sure that this business actually succeeds, right? So, from, from, purchasing of the materials, up to, the experience process, I'm totally on top of making sure we do this. Like, when it comes to, you have the plan, that the ideas, of course, are built in. So, well, the kind of fashion that I'm about to do, is very, very tailored, the particular sector of people, and even gender, so, it's very tailored. Coming back to, the reality I had of, why men? I feel like men, or, kill rock artists, better than women. Okay, I'm not going to dispute the games. The brand I'm working on, is Pillow State, because I feel, if ladies are not really coming up, don't worry, I'm going to solve your problem. I'm a problem solver. Just like that. Yeah. I'm going to solve your problem, and I'm just going to dress you up. I'm going to, I mean, I just met, a lady who's also, who also has, that same dress. I want to dress her up, because my client doesn't ever, right now. So, that goes to the question, that, what exactly happens, when a lady dresses up? Here's what I'm asking. So, on Tuesday, when I, put out this young post, on my WhatsApp, I got a lot of feedback, about, but the surprising thing, is that, every single lady, that replied to me, had cringe, you know, because, they did agree, that, men workout it, better, than women. I'm going to read, comments, exactly how you said it. Now, this lady says, she likes to, watch the, you know, this Get Ready With Me, trend, online. She prefers, to watch, male Get Ready With Me. I'm not done. Another person says, that, women, because, too confused, about so many things, that they have, a lot of ideas, and they do not know, what to choose, such that, when they eventually, choose something. Off. Yeah. Yeah. It's not off. Yeah, it's off. I don't, I don't agree with that. They have so many options. Yeah, we do have so many options. Right. That's because, we have so many clothes. So, too many clothes, that you don't end up knowing, how to put together. Yeah. True, I agree. Okay, true, then that's it. No, true, true, I agree, like, but then, I think it's, intentionality, right? You don't, I don't think, you want to go out, and then, you're not going to, prepare mentally. Are you saying, your gender, are not intentional, about how they show up outside? True, yes. True, yeah. Let us check. There are very few people, that are interested, but I feel like, fashion is a lifestyle, we should embrace it, and then, probably because, they're not, not too many, female, have the time, I don't even think it's the time, because I mean, now, there are too many videos, for you to watch, and get your style, but I just feel like, they don't have, the strength, dressing up, to go out, the whole world. Like, you have to prepare mentally, for that, and I'm very sorry, for that. Okay, and I'm very serious, so probably, when the day, let's say for example, you have an event, and then, the day is approaching, and I even get to that, and I feel like, okay, I don't want to wear this, it's not that, you don't have to, probably because, you don't have, the gender, or the vibe, or you feel like, you're not doing it, so I think, fashion seeks, more videos, and more encouragement, from like, my fellow, females that are into it, would help them, to put more interest, into doing that. So, if you're recommending, tips, and tricks, and help other teachers out, does that mean, kind of, agree, that, we're educated, right? No, 100% Maybe, it's in terms of, time saving, makeup, fast. Yeah. Oh, wow. Oh, yeah, done. And, the main thing, that gets reposted. Ah, interesting. Look, is this an interesting thing? Wow, I do not know how to comment. I didn't know how to comment. But, to be honest, um, okay, wow, I like that, that particular comment, used this part. So, there was this particular comment, um, I also got, and then this lady said, um, she, when she gets confused, about her wear, she prefers to ask, other guys, like a male friend, what to wear, than a female friend. Because, she feels like, anytime she asks, a female friend, she just gets more confused, and she wasn't interested. So, I'm going to put this question to you, Jonathan. What do you think about, men's choice, when it comes to, um, dressing, well? Okay, I think, men's choice, um, it's more, where are you going to, where you are going to, what are you going to do there? Because there are times, even as, you know, as a guy, you get overdressed, you are well dressed, but you get overdressed, for that occasion. You can say, call a party, if you are really the baller, I don't think you want to make up for it, so you don't get messed up, for the bouncer. Exactly, if you are really the baller, so you don't get messed up, for the bouncer. So, it's all about, where you are going to, what are you going to do there? So, that's where, the old dressing starts from, you know, you get to think about, okay, this is me going to this place, I have to show up in this way, this way, this way, this way, this way, this manner. You don't want to go for a corporate, really, really corporate setting, and wear a lace, you know, it's fashion. But still, you don't want to do that, come on. It's just true, of like, just, take everything off, the balance for you. So, that's the problem. Yeah, I think that's true. Thinking about, how I dress, I spend a lot of time, see, the very small things that I do, that's why I agree very much, when you say, I spend a lot of time, training, and all these things, I spend a lot of time, dressing up, and this is why, for the period of my life, where, I mean, we're talking about this, but, the period of my life, where I didn't care about how I look, was mostly because, I walk, if I have to be, maybe in class, or maybe, there's a test, that's not a test, anyway. So, maybe there's a test, at 12, right, and most likely, we walk in, see, okay, it's 11.45, so, that's the minute, when those things, just grab, grab. Exactly. I just, I just grab, grab. So, if I don't write my test, I'm not back. Exactly. So, I have no, I don't care about, at least, what came in the interview, I want to write the test, and that's all, I want to come back. Exactly. I don't spend any more, I don't spend time, you know, I don't spend time, reading, I don't do all of that. Because, that's what I want to do, I don't care about, where I'm going, or what I want to do, but, maybe, just, you say this, I get emotional, obviously, I know myself, I know that, I'm not going to stop walking till 11.45, I'm not going to stop walking by 11, because I'm going to start the test, I know myself, I'm not going to do that.
