That's right Wally, today we are diving into fruit's nutritional value and how you can add it to delicious meals. But it's even more important to know how to use them, because even though they are good for us, eating too much of them won't be good for us. Fun fact, a fruit is a part of a plant that has seeds. It doesn't have to be sweet or surprisingly edible. Not only are they high in fibre, but that fibre reduces the risk of some cancers. Now, here's Cameron. Thank you for having me, I'm excited to be here today. Well the main reason you are here is because we want to learn more about the healthiness of fruit. Fruit is low in kilojoules and has high fibre and water, making it feel fuller, and it makes it harder to overeat, gain weight, and it's also got vitamin C's and E, which reduce the risk of cardiovascular conditions. Potassium and magnesium lowers blood pressure and colourful fruits, especially yellow and red and orange, have lots of nuts that assist in immune function. People know that most Australians eat only half the quantity of fruit a day. From the age of nine onwards, two serves of fruit a day is recommended, and we want to tell you how to include them in your daily life. For breakfast, you can enjoy fruit on pancakes, cereal, toast, or porridge. For dessert after dinner, you can have a baked apple, stewed apple, or poached fruit, and they are all healthy and taste delicious. For a snack in between meals, you can have lots of fruit, like pineapple, cherries, mangoes, oranges, and bananas. Healthy eating is needed for a happy and energetic life. Fruit can save you from many diseases and conditions. Don't overdo it. Deliciously juicy, naturally sweet, fruit is a good treat to eat.
