Refugees lack choice and control in leaving their home country. They flee to foreign countries to escape danger or persecution. This lack of control is evident in the lives of Palestinians, who face extreme hardships such as limited food, continuous bombings, lack of healthcare, and dirty drinking water. These conditions force populations to relocate to avoid death. Refugees have little choice or control to leave their country of origin. The definition of a refugee is defined as a person who flees to a foreign country or power to escape danger or persecution. The very definition of a refugee clearly shows the poor control refugees have over their situation. To show a real-life event that ties to this part, in an article discussing the current lives of Palestinians, the author stated that Palestinians are living off just two pieces of bread a day, along with continuous bombings and little to no access to healthcare as well as dirty drinking water. This is just one instance where conditions have forced populations to relocate in masses due to the immense possibility of death.
