TikTok has gained popularity among people of all ages. The speaker found a video on TikTok about career options after graduating with a health science degree. The video provided helpful information about unknown job opportunities and potential salaries. However, the credibility of the TikTok creator is questioned as she doesn't provide any background information. Despite this, the information was valuable to the listener as it gave hope for good job prospects after graduation. TikTok is a newer platform that has been piquing the interest of people of all ages and backgrounds recently. The video that I found on TikTok, I thought would fit perfectly for this project because of the nature of the video. I found this video because I was looking for health science related videos, because that's my major. And this was one of the only ones that wasn't a get ready with me or a day in the life as a. So I was really excited when I first watched it. The media is by the creator at Sincerely Drew. It is her speaking about the options that you have after graduating with a health science degree. And I chose it because it has helpful information in it and she was speaking about options that I didn't even know existed. And she also gave me insight into what I could do with my degree following graduation. It opened my eyes to multiple opportunities after college that would be available. She lists some of the jobs available and their potential salaries when she says. You can be a nutritionist after undergrad and make $50,000 doing that and have the option of going to medical school to continue. She also says things along the lines of. I have a video on public health and I think this is probably the best way to go because it provides a really good work life balance. The opportunities in the industry are astronomical, especially right now. She then lastly says. You know, you could also do communication sciences and disorders and become a speech language pathologist assistant and those may pay pretty well too. All of these sound like great options to look into, but I think the main thing to look at would be her credibility as a creator. TikTok creators can be anyone. The beauty of the app is that anyone can post whatever they would like and anyone can see what is posted. The intended audience is not always the audience that receives what you post. From just this video, she says nothing to give herself any credibility. She does not share if she has a degree or if she's even working in the healthcare field in general. We know nothing about her except for that she puts at the top of the video, big sister advice. This is not very helpful in giving her any credibility because her saying that proves nothing. She's not actually your big sister and we can't guarantee that anything that she said is true. She then goes on to ruin any credibility that she did give herself at the end by saying. This is a good statement for her to make, saying that it is all situational, but it would be better if she did not contradict herself by saying take all this with a grain of salt. There again, not making a good case for her credibility. In conclusion, this information was helpful to me because just knowing the job titles is good enough to let me know that I do have options after graduation. Since my major is such a broad major and it doesn't have a specific job field that it goes into, this gives me hope that there are good jobs for me to get post-graduation.
