Mrs. Hungerford

Margaret Wolfe Hungerford, born Hamilton, was a renowned Irish author in the late 19th century. Her delightful romantic novels gained immense popularity worldwide. Initially, her books were published without her name, and later, she started writing under the name "Mrs. Hungerford". In the US, most of her books were published under the pen name "The Duchess".
