Yeah, I want to imagine you've been here throughout the morning, engaging in many of the very, very exciting workshops that we're doing. Who's resigning for the afternoon session? Oh, wow. Okay. We'll try to figure out what we can share with you from earlier today, because we've been attending some of the sessions, and our sessions, there's still a lot of people We're going to be bringing in some of the things and the tools that people have mentioned from the previous sessions, and actually putting these to some work. Okay? So if you've got laptops, you're doing the right thing right now, bring it on, because we're going to have some exercises for you. But before we jump into all that, we're going to introduce ourselves. Please, Maria, if you want to start. Well, it appears my picture is first on the screen. You can see them on that side and the other. So my name is Alexander Talo. As you might have noticed from what I'm putting up, I'm from Nigeria. Okay? And Nigeria is a big crowd. Wow, this is the first time I've seen less than 50% of the people in the crowd from Nigeria. All right. Yes. Well, that's where I was born and raised. Now I live in the Bay Area of California. What I know about artificial intelligence comes from my time at NVIDIA. You might be familiar with NVIDIA. Those of you who like to buy stocks, you might be pretty familiar with it. I spent time there helping start the AI division for cloud. So it was a pretty special position. What I got to learn was the very first thousands of companies across the world were thinking about doing artificial intelligence. It was before 2020. That's where I spent most of my time, but I very quickly realized that it was something of a very small space across the world. And myself and several other people decided to think that it was important to think about democratizing access to these tools, first for people to use them, and then for people to actually build them, build them from Atlanta, build them for the rest of the global South. So that's where I come from. And my partner here is Maria. Please. Thank you. You can move the slide. Hey, everyone. My name is Maria Laws, and I'm coming to you from Oakland, California. And I'm coming from a very different background. I started as a teacher teaching high school science and dance. And then I moved up to UC Berkeley where I was a professor teaching engineering majors about best practice in education. And I also got the chance to do some workforce development at places like Genentech, Lockheed Martin, and a few other spots like SF MoMA, the Museum of Art, as well as some other places. And what I was really excited about joining our team was Alex and the rest of our group thinking about tech and what it can do for everyone, everywhere, and our role in it. I was really interested in global impact, and I was thinking a lot about how we need to build a team of AI, a community of AI leaders, people that can question, that can critique, and then create the tools that they need and want for themselves, for their community, for their families. And so that's why I moved out of my very heavy safety in the classroom into AI, which has been very exciting, because I really do think this is our chance to level the playing field and to move ahead. And I'm really excited to be here with you to share some ideas. And let's think about what's possible for you and for us. Yeah. All right, AI. That's what we're called, by the way. And we're about positioning the workforces right in the age of AI. Said differently, we're a learning company. We're a learning company. We think about the workforce, we think about people as learners, and figuring out what do you need to keep up with this incredible pace of change that's happening with AI. Every week you wake up, there's yet another school, there's another hundred that are getting launched, or existing schools that are providing updates. What do you need to keep up with that? Maybe it's recommendation of what those tools are. Maybe it's prioritization of what those tools are based on your role. Maybe it's providing you with your own personal AI coach, which I'll talk about later. But that's our mission. That's why we're in the world. And we have had the privilege of working with some incredible organizations across the world, from Salesforce, working with the Association for the Nonprofit Digital, to an exciting project you did in Zimbabwe. I don't know if you want to talk a little bit about that. I totally do. It's probably the most favorite thing I've done so far, because it's always my focus. As great as tech is, as great as business is, my focus is always on the learner. That's what I'm interested in. Learning is leading, learning is powerful, and I know that learning is identity work. So this is what interests me. And this amazing group of women that all have their own agribusinesses. So maybe they have a farm, maybe they're raising animals. Whatever they're doing, they're creating products that they're selling as a business. And agriculture does make up one of the top five industries across many countries in Africa, including Zimbabwe. So they were wanting to see how can AI help them with their agribusinesses, whether it be, can it help me figure out a better way of tilling the soil? What is the weather going to be like? Are there going to be floods coming up? What's happening if I show a picture of this plant leaf? Can I figure out if it's healthy? What's wrong with it? And then we also expanded out, like, maybe there's some marketing tools that could help. So we really have done a lot of work every week, sharing new ideas for them on our WhatsApp channel. And then we're also partnering with an AI data company called Amini AI out of Kenya, because what we realized is something that we'll talk about today. AI is only as good as the data that you have. And so if there's been no data set from your area or for your use case, you're limited in what you can do. And so Amini is actually partnering with us to create a special data set just for these farmers. So, yes, it's a group of 70 women right now in Zimbabwe. This will have impact in their communities that is significant and immediate. But it's also something we can think about replicating across other countries. I literally get goosebumps thinking about how this small domino is going to just break down the wall. It's phenomenal, honestly. Well, today is going to be your opportunity. You've already heard about a few tools earlier. Today you're going to play with those tools. And we want you to do more than play with those tools. We're actually going to have a raffle at the end of our presentation today, where we're going to – I think we're looking to provide you – you know, a lot of these tools are free. But we're looking to provide you with a small little $50 check for two people to play for one of these tools, right? Earlier on today, we just decided to do this because earlier on people were talking about how many tools you can pay for and should you pay for them. You can use the free ones, but some of them are super awesome when you pay the $20, right? And so with the $60, you can pay for three of those tools instantly. Well, after today, you're all going to have personal assistants. Yes, it's an AI, but it's going to be as impactful. If not, it will unfortunately be more. And we're going to be starting with a question that I love to ask. It's how many new AI tools do you use daily? I say new because new companies, not Microsoft or Google. We know who they are. Outside of those ones, I don't know how many tools you guys use daily. So if you use at least one tool outside of these, can you actually see your hands? All right. Cool. The people putting their hands up, I'm sorry. You might have to leave. Don't worry about it. Two tools. Which people use at least two tools? Okay. Anyone want to find it? He was wondering, man. Sounds like four. Can you tell us about four? Okay. Yeah. Right now, I'm using Corsair, TVP, FYI, Prolo, and things like that. That's super awesome. He uses FYI. Are you in the music space? No. So actually, I am in the music space. So that's why I'm in the music space where you can meet the talent, the music creators, or anybody. Think of it as a M5. That's it. We're a M5. We want to get people to join the space. And I will not be in the music space. I don't have to be a creator. I don't have to play football. I'm that close. When you get to M5, consider me. You can be a part of that. That's super awesome. Really cool. Really cool. I don't know if you're familiar with FYI. I want to tell you it's on this line with IM. It's actually the very first location where Make What Kind of Real was hosted. I think it was November last year. That's where it happened. And awesome to hear that you're in sync with them. So that's very cool. But everyone, don't worry. By the end of this, we need you to get to M5. Because at M5, that's where we say you are AI ready. You're all going to be AI ready by the end of this. Because it leads to amazing things. What happens to your workforce? What happens to your team if 100% of them are using AI tools every day? It's truly phenomenal. The first statement here says that your team is able to accomplish tasks that would ordinarily take two to three teams with two to three times their size to accomplish. If that's doing things like the speaker on stage earlier here today talked about creating websites in five minutes. Being able to create a website in five minutes. It seems kind of like before now, building a website used to be a procrastination. Like you're about to start your new business. People talk about creating a website and you show up just two months later and they're still talking about creating a website. Now you can just get it done in a matter of 10 to 15 minutes. But then I'm sure you have to do things like this. You find out that over a second statement here says that your low performers or as she likes to call them, your emerging performers. These would be people who just literally came out of college. So they are emerging performers. They start to perform like the high performers in your team. That's how you upgrade your team together when you expose them to the right tools. It's pretty similar to, imagine what happened to my classes the first time they brought in the calculator. It wasn't just the people who do math in their heads, but everyone else can calculate and be math geniuses. So with that, let me see. I'll pass it on to you here. Yeah, I do want to talk a little bit more about this, about even now with the most basic tool that most of us probably know the name of, chat GPT or chat. You're on first name basis with that. So there you go. It's called chat. The kinds of outcomes we're seeing, even at the beginning before folks are going to be where we know they're going to be in terms of prompt generation. If you look at the slide here, it's telling us that your team or you, however you want to frame it, is going to see a difference in do you get tasks completed? How good are the work that you do? And how fast is it? I mean, this is like really dramatic. And then as you keep looking down a little bit further, the kind of thing that Alex was talking about, everyone on your team benefits. Your emerging performance is teacher language, right? I also think about it, not only folks that are new or inexperienced, but also perhaps they're working across multiple languages. This is an equalizer. This allows them to have gains. And even your top performers are better. There isn't anyone who can't see a benefit from trying out these tools. And kind of thinking about the next phase of it, I was really struck by some of the comments earlier today. And I put together some of the stats that you'll see on the board here, on the slides here for you, that there's so many things that we're already seeing around statistics that tell us that AI is having an impact on people, on employers, not just in terms of what they're expecting from their new hires. It's also about the return of investment they're getting on any money they spend to get their team ready. So I don't know if, Alex, you've got a favorite stat on here you want to call out. Getting a job. Getting a job is key. Everyone's trying to get a job. And don't worry, we'll be helping you out with that later. It says experience with AI is now a key hiring criteria. Okay? It's a key hiring criteria for employers across all industries and companies. Well, I'm sorry to apologize, but I'm kind of one of those... I barely hire anymore. If you come to the interview and you can't show me how to use AI tools, you're basically not really speaking as productive as everyone else on the team. And I think my favorite statistic, as you probably know, is the one about education with the implications for us as parents and as teachers, right? That we need to get our learners ready. It's not enough for them to figure it out the way we are right now. We need to get them ready so they can leverage that as they move forward. And so that's going to be something that's going to be... If you are a parent in the room, start asking questions at your school to invite those conversations about how that team is thinking about what they're going to do. That's another kind of project we've been working on to help schools develop a strategy so that it's safe and effective and also helpful to students. Sure. Yeah, we'll just set it up right here. Okay. If I can do it. And as my co-founder famously likes to say, AI is easy, but it is hard. Oh, yeah, we can present it bigger. We've got multiple screens going on here. Let's see. Can I present it bigger? Yeah. Go ahead. We're just going to read the words to you. Please. Well... Perfect. Yeah, thank you. It's always fun when we have people need help from the audience about our tech. So thank you very much. I appreciate it. Yeah, it took a little bit to get it up. Yeah. And this particular slide is just a reminder again that even now in the early stages, the data is clear that the folks that are ahead are going to stay ahead. So it's best to get on board right now. And that's for solo folks and also communities as well as businesses. So here's our kind of quest, the kind of frame before we get into individual tools where we ask you to, like, do some homework, get out your computers, is really the best way to get engaged with AI is to think of yourself as an explorer. You don't need to know anything. The knowing is in the doing. You're going to figure it out right now when you're trying to play with it. You're going to talk to the person next to you. You're going to ask us questions. You don't have to raise your hand, but if you do, I'll feel at home with that. In any case, all those things are true. Be an explorer. Be curious. Ask questions and experiment. This is what innovation is. It's those little moments of always asking another question. And if you feel like you're not necessarily the tech person, just remind yourself I have an art background, an ed background, and a science background, and none of them are tech. The more you learn, the more you look, the more interested it is, the more interested you'll be because you'll see the benefit for yourself. So today's the day. And if you're feeling less than inspired, you definitely want to pull in a partner. They're going to get you. You're going to get their energy, and we'll go from there. So, again, AI Explorer is kind of the hat you're putting on today. And we're really excited to help guide you through some things that we think will really be helpful for you literally today. I want to see websites. I want to see all the things. All right. All right, cool. All right, so the first thing we're going to do is something around resonating. I don't know if any of you have a resume that you know is outdated and needs to be fixed. It needs to be updated. Perhaps you don't have a resume. You need to make one. We're going to talk a little bit about how to do that first because it does seem like in our job market, a resume is always a good thing to have around. You never know if it's going to be needed to replace one you have, or maybe you've got a side thing you want to work on as well. So the tool that I'm going to introduce to you is called TealHQ. And if you want to pull out your computer, you can. If you want to wait and just watch on the screen first, that's fine. But I absolutely am going to expect that you take a moment to take a look at this. Almost all of the tools that we're talking about today, we purposely picked them for high access. So they are free, at least to some degree. So all the ones we're picking have high quality features, even the free version. But if they are something where you're finding you want advanced features, or you just use it a lot and need more data, more credits, then those might be the ones that you decide later that you're going to upgrade to paid. And hopefully you'll win a raffle, and that'll help. It'll be on us. So that's kind of our thinking on that. All right. Sound like a plan? Okay. Cool. All right. But I'm going to use this text when I go ahead and work on Teal. The cool thing about Teal is if you don't really have a resume yet, but let's just say you've got like a LinkedIn profile, you can actually use your LinkedIn profile as well as another alternative way for it to build your resume out, which is a great feature if you have a great LinkedIn profile. Mine feels like it's a dinosaur archaeological site of everything I've done since seventh grade. So I'm not going to use that, and I'm going to use my old resume instead. The other thing that I pulled up for an additional thing we're going to talk about is how you can tie your resume not just to a title, but also to a specific job. So I found a job on LinkedIn sort of related to education, and so I'm going to go ahead and have that ready to cut and paste into my space so you can kind of see what happens. All right. So when you go to Teal, this is what you're going to see in terms of your homepage or your dashboard. And I'm going to go to Resume Builder, and I'm going to go ahead and do a new resume right here. So I'm going to go to design first, and that's really the simple one. That's the visual space around different templates I can use. And so this is one of those areas where if you've got the paid version, there'll be more templates. Also, too, if you don't like the templates here, and you don't feel like adding a paid version, once you get all of the text right, you can download that into your own PDF or Word doc, and then find your free templates elsewhere. You're not limited here for this. So I'm going to leave things as they are. I think I'm fine with it. And this is the part I want to show you. It's where you go to analysis. When you look at analysis, you can see the teacher in me, my heart hurts because I have a 48 percent. This cannot stand. I might need to take a break and fix this right now and come back later, Alex. I hope that's all right. A 48 percent. That is not really like the lane I want to be in. And so what's really cool, they'll tell me my resume structure needs a little help and my measurable results. This is definitely an area I know that my resume had a lot of bullet points, but not a lot of numbers. Not how many students impacted, not grades of a certain kind. I didn't do that. Did we miss this somewhere? Right? I think I might have stayed in the back door here at AHORA. But in any case, what you can see is each of them below, I can go to each one. And not only will it tell me some things, I can say show me, and it's going to pull up on the left. And I can either do it myself or I can pick the little magic button here and say improve with AI, and it will go ahead and do something for me. And it's going to go ahead and rewrite it. And again, as always, one thing you'll hear us talk about, this AI is not like magic. It's not God. If you don't like what it is, you don't have to do it. Right? But it's giving you some options that maybe you hadn't thought of, or it's just getting you there faster. And both of those things matter. So this is a great space to do. So I'm going to just say that that works, although the idea of my 20 years is now in three lines is like a little bit much, but we'll just leave it there for now. And actually, it is a pretty good representation. And you can go through each of these that they've identified. Oh, yay, my score went up to 55%. Okay, I'm getting there. Woo-hoo. I might get rehired today. This is good. As I go through each one, it'll raise my score. What I also like about this, and again, more of a paid feature, is there's a section where I can actually add in a job track where I put in that link for my LinkedIn and go ahead and leave it there. And it'll match even more specific guidance so that the words and the metrics that I have in my resume directly match what that post says that they're looking for. So that's pretty great that it's not just a general refresh, but it's a very specific one. All right. How's that feel for you all? Might be something you check out? Even if you feel like you're not going to check it out, you all have nieces and nephews. You've got folks around you, right? You've got cousins. Let's go ahead and make sure folks know about these things. Particularly our young folks, this is not a skill set for most of them yet. They're emerging in that area. And this is where AI can really help them learn for next time, not only for this time. Do you have a question? So the score, is it through this general, like, sort of resume, or does it actually apply to how the resume is distributed? Yeah. It depends on what other things you do. So if I put in a job title that I'm looking for, it'll match to that. If I just put in my resume, it'll just give me a general refresh. If I match to a specific job posting, it gets more granular. So you choose what the level is. And I have to say, I mean, I know we always go to the most specific, but there's something to be gained by seeing the broad general. Like, what are they seeing before you give anything else? Like, see what amplifies as maybe a skill you hadn't really thought of in that way, and now it's showing up really big on your resume that they're suggesting. So let me consider. Talking about gaps. I believe this tool also shows you, does it show you gaps in how you create an authority plan? It'll show you gaps, but not in the way that you're saying. I'm going to use Chat for that, if that's OK. Wonderful. Yeah. So the other thing is, I'm a big fan of Chat GPT because it does do a lot of good writing, or relatively good writing, in the style that I'm needing. And so one of the things that I've been doing is using Chat to look at this stuff. So, oh, all my things are gone now. That's OK. I can go pull them back up. So I'm going to go ahead and pull out a, I have these already ready to go, so let me just pull it up for you. Ah, here we go. Yeah. So I'm going to go ahead and do this. Yeah, so I'm going to go ahead and ask Chat to do some work on my thing. So I'm going to say, I'm going to give you my resume, and I want you to tell me some things about it. So here's my first thing right here, and then I'm going to go ahead and add in my text for this right now. So if you want to share anything, feel free while I put this together. Just take me a moment. OK. You know, that sums up. I know Chat GPT was the, I would say the second first JDI tool I was able to introduce to, but what's been very interesting is we can find out, sometimes people use it for like 10%, like only 10% of the capabilities that it has. There's just so much more to that one tool, and in a lot of language models, it's pretty interesting. I'm here to give a comment. Yeah, so a lot of the things on it, you can customize text, maybe. But if you go back, I'm just showing you. Yeah. But actually, you can go up to your profile, and you can add like strength, or like you can tell it like, oh, I'm a job seeker looking for whatever title. And then you can just add to it. So when it builds your resume, you can deal with that. Yes. Yes. Yeah, we can do that. That's where we keep getting better and better, with like the prompting. So the prompting or the providing context with the, knowing that you're not just asking for the question. You're just asking the question one time. You can continue correcting it if it gets it wrong. One thing I find kept wrong, more than others, is like math calculations. So I basically use it to go through really big math calculations, but I still eyeball it and try to make corrections. I don't know if anyone's pulled into this before, using Chat 52, making calculations. Has anyone tried to do that? Okay. Yeah. Well, did that go well? Yeah. It was actually for my second grade daughter, who's from math. But I went home. Oh, that's awesome. That's great. Yeah. It was cool. But as a parent, I couldn't figure out the second grade math. And so. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Someone else mentioned that, too, a couple months ago, that she could finally help her kids with their homework. Right? She couldn't do that before. She could do the math. But now, there's something wrong with it. But it's always useful to do a cross-check. I use it to calculate how much I should pay for my taxes. And it's a very high number. I freaked out. Yeah. So I put in my resume, and now I'm going to go ahead and click in the text from the job description. And now, it's giving me some highlights around some things. And it's going ahead and actually rewriting my resume so that it matches sort of what that job posting is looking for. But the next thing I'm going to ask for, you can see it already showing up, skills gaps and areas for emphasis. It's telling me where I shine. So it's not giving me a number score, but it's giving me some narrative sort of qualitative information that's a little bit more in depth than on TEAL. So TEAL is giving me really quantitative things, and this is giving me a more expansive view. I also like that it tells me where the skills gaps are. So maybe then I can start to design a learning plan to fix that, or maybe find some other ways to deal with that in an interview. So I can actually ask chat for help with that. So that's sort of what I'm thinking might be really useful for you all. Let's go back to our slide deck. Here we go. Yeah. Really, we've gone over our TEAL, and we've talked a little bit about our chat GPT that you can ask it to look at your documents. Just tell it that you're going to share, and off you go. It'll remember. You can ask more than one question. I'd love for you to take out your computers if you already have it and try a moment, talk to a partner. Either try to get onto TEAL, see what's on there, or start with chat. You know, that's a really simple way. You can talk about, even if you don't have a resume, narrate what your skills are. What are some other jobs I might be looking for? So let's just take a few minutes and let you explore a little bit around the idea of how AI tools, either chat or TEAL, can help you with your job search, with your resume build. Yes. We have two or three of these where we might create an opportunity for you to talk to a person next to you, because I'm sure you have a great part that you want to share with your manager or share with someone next to you. Or if you don't have a laptop and someone else is trying something, I hope you are comfortable with sharing. So it is really easy to do that. And as that happens, yeah, please go ahead.
