This podcast talks about the comedian actor Will Ferrell and why the host chose to discuss him. It mentions that Ferrell brings nostalgia and entertainment, and provides some background information about his life and career. Ferrell was born in 1967 in Irvine, California, and instead of following his father's footsteps in business, he pursued comedy. He started his comedy journey after high school and eventually joined an improv class in LA. In 1995, he gained recognition as a cast member on Saturday Night Live and went on to star in popular movies like Step Brothers, Elf, Anchorman, and Austin Powers. The podcast concludes by praising Ferrell's ability to act stupid and entertain audiences. Good morning, or afternoon, or good evening. I'd like to talk about a well-known comedian actor, Jonathan William Thurl. Why the heck, out of all of the people I could have talked about today on this podcast, did I pick Will Thurl? Well, I'm the host. And because, well, to be honest, he brings some sort of nostalgia in my life specifically, and also, he's not that boring. Let's be honest. Okay, I know I just said he's not that boring, but let's start off with the quote-unquote boring part. First of all, Thurl was born in 1967 in the area of Irvine, California. And instead of taking a normal businessman career like his father, he decided that's not what he wanted to do, because his dad had to spend lots of time away on business trips. Thurl didn't start his journey towards his comedy career until he graduated high school as a high school athlete. After high school, he took the job of a sports commentator, which around that time, he developed a liking for comedy. And occasionally, he'd make the audience laugh. Later on, he joined an improv class down in LA called The Gremlins. As I'd mentioned, it was in LA, and he was in California. So he had to make the decision to move to LA, which his mother also encouraged him to do. In 1995, is when he started to finally get recognized as he'd become a part of the cast on the popular comedy show Saturday Night Live. He would stick on the cast as when he arrived in 1995, and he would leave in 2002. But he's not just known for Saturday Night Live. In fact, you probably didn't know he was on Saturday Night Live. You probably know him from popular movies, Step Brothers, the movie Elf, the movie Anchorman, and he was also a small role in the movie Austin Powers. All of these you probably know. So yeah, even though Will Ferrell's entire career is based on mostly the movies which he'd been in in his earlier days of comedy, which were mostly just movies that didn't take themselves seriously. I still think he's an amazing comedian, as a lot of comedians don't really have the guts to, you know, act stupid. Not to act dumb. Acting dumb is easy, but it's the power to act stupid. And that's what makes him entertaining, because instead of having someone to laugh with, it's kind of, I guess, more funny to laugh at someone. Thank you for listening to my podcast about Will Ferrell. I know this hasn't been very informative and mostly stuff you may have known, but I still appreciate you even listening if you did. So thank you.
