The speaker discusses the topic of deception in the last days, referring to passages in the Bible that mention the prevalence of deception in the end times. They emphasize the importance of being aware of false teachings and false prophets, and urge listeners to pray for a love of the truth and to rely on the scriptures for guidance. The speaker also mentions the presence of deception in the world today, particularly in media outlets, and encourages a return to the basics of the Bible and a reliance on Jesus Christ. Deception in the last days. I've read Matthew chapter 24 over and over. I felt drawn to study what Jesus said about the end times or the last days and there's a lot to talk about but I want to share what I noticed in this chapter. Jesus mentioned or talked about deception quite a bit. So I looked up the word deceived in the strong concordance and I was amazed how many times this word is in passages that are related directly or indirectly with the subject of the last days and the end times. Here are some examples. Matthew 24 verses 4 and 5. Jesus answered and said unto them, take ye that no man deceive you for many shall come in my name saying I am Christ and shall deceive many. Matthew chapter 24 verse 11. And many false prophets shall rise and shall deceive many. Matthew 24 24. For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets and shall show great signs and wonders. And so much that if it were possible they shall deceive the very elect. Mark 13 verses 5 and 6. And Jesus answering them began to say, take ye that any man deceive you for many shall come in my name saying I am Christ and shall deceive many. Second Thessalonians chapter 2 verse 3. Let no man deceive you by any means for that day shall not come except there come a falling away first and that man of sin be revealed the son of perdition. Second Thessalonians 2 8 through 12. And then shall that wicked be revealed whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming. Even him whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness and then that perish because they receive not the love of the truth that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion they should believe and lie that they all might be damned who believe not the truth but have pleasure in unrighteousness. Second Timothy chapter 3 verse 1 verse 13. This do also that in the last days perilous times shall come. Evil men and seducers shall work wax worse and worse deceiving and being deceived. Second Timothy 4 verses 3 and 4. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine but after their own lusts shall they heap themselves teachers having itching ears and they shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall be turned to fables. So as I'm reading the Bible I'm getting a clear picture of how things are going to progress and how they're progressing right now. From what I see in the Bible deception is one of the chief signs of the last days. I'm thinking I'm living in the last days with all the cults and the heresies in the church that are published and promoted through every every conceivable means. I cannot help but think I'm living in the day with deception and delusion is surrounding the church on every side. Let's pray and ask God to give us an intense love of the truth. Receive the love of the truth so that we may walk in the spirit of truth and we will not be deceived by false gospels, false Christ, false prophets, false teachers, and false brethren. Amen. Even so come quickly Lord Jesus. Amen. Deception in the last days. One thing I used to hear a lot. I don't hear it as much anymore but people used to talk about signs or things that were signs of the last days. And you can list all types of things. Earthquakes and wars, rumors of wars, cashless society, all these things pointing to the last days. But one of the things that you see that is the most pronounced sign of the last days is deception. And I just want to simply read some scriptures that talk about deception as a sign of the last days. So let me just read these scriptures. Matthew 24, 4 through 5, And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ, and shall deceive many. Matthew 24 verse 11, And many false prophets shall rise and shall deceive many. Matthew 24 verse 24, For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders, insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Mark chapter 13 verses 5 and 6, And Jesus answered and began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ, and shall deceive many. 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 verse 3, Let no man deceive you by any means. For that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition. 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 verses 8 through 12, And then shall that wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming. Even him whose coming is after the working of Satan, with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish, because they receive not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion that they should believe a lie, that they all might be damned who believe not the truth, but have pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Timothy chapter 3 verses 1 and 13, This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. Verse 13, But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 2 Timothy chapter 4 verses 3 and 4, For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears, and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. More and more as I'm reading the scripture, I'm getting a much clearer picture of how things are going to shape up. From what I see from these scriptures, it seems to me that deception is one of the chief earmarks of the last days. Needless to say, it is my feeling that I am living in those days. With all the cults and the heresies in Christianity that are being published and promoted through every conceivable means, I cannot help but think that I am living in the day when deception and delusion would surround the church on every side. Let us pray together that God will give us an intense love for the truth, so that we may walk in the spirit of truth, and that we will not be deceived by false gospels, false Christs, false prophets, false teachers, and false brethren. And even more so today as we see this fake news and propaganda that's constantly being published through every conceivable media outlet and news. You can't believe anything that you hear today that comes through any type of media outlet. But we need to get back to the basics, to the Bible. We need to study the scriptures to show ourselves approved unto God. And we need to study and meditate upon the truth, and ask God to fill us with the Holy Spirit, and that we might receive a love of the truth, so that we will not be deceived with the rest of the world in these last days. So let us cling to the truth. Let's cling to the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the way, and the truth, and the life. Amen. I pray the Lord will bless you today, and keep you. The Lord make His face shine upon you. The Lord give you peace.
