Right, and you know what? We talk about this often. I mean, there's no surprise that points are going to be scored continually. These guys are electric, they're young, they're fast, they're strong, they're going to be a force to be reckoned with. But the thing we have to address, obviously, from the 2024 season is that horrific defense we had. Let's go ahead and just beat some stat notes real quick and dive into. We were averaging 24.9 points per game against us. Total yards passing against us was over 4,000, total rushing yards over 2,000 against us. Allowed 31 sags, and that's more on the offensive line, but this defense is 45% of the time on third and long conversions, you're getting the first down. And then over 50% on fourth down conversions against our defense. And Travis, this is one that I looked this up and I just internally was yelling, thinking to myself, this just can't be true, this can't be true, this can't be true. Red zone conversion rate, 28th in the league with 65% chance, if you're in the red zone, you are scoring on the Atlanta Falcons, 65. So, we're going to go ahead and just beat some stat notes real quick and dive into what we were averaging. We were averaging 24.9 points per game against us. Total yards passing against us was over 4,000, total rushing yards over 2,000 against us. Allowed 31 sags, and that's more on the offensive line, but this defense is 45% of the time on third and long conversions against our defense. Right. Hey, man. Let me tell you what, man, I can't agree more, and 2024, that's the past, you know, no one's ever been successful, no team's ever been successful looking in the rearview mirror. Let me go ahead, that's why, you know, the windshield's a lot bigger than the back window. We're looking forward, we're looking ahead. We are, I mean, like I said at the beginning, I am, my blood has been boiling, I've been seizing at the mouth like a pit bull waiting to see this team hit the field. But, you know, changes had to be made when it came to free agency, and actually, you know what, changes didn't have to be made, but we made poor financial decisions in the past, signing Kurt Cousins, and that being said, we had to let Gray Jarrett walk. I mean, longtime Falcons veteran, I thought that man was going to be a Falcon for life. I've wanted him to be a Falcon for life. I mean, such a good team leader in the locker room, a real blue guy. I was at a Falcons fan rally last night. Chris Lindstrom was talking about, when he was on the mic, about how Grady Jarrett was such a good mentor for him to really, you know, iron sharp, sharpening iron on the field and in practice, and it's just, it's such a shame the Falcons, you know, generational talent right there, just having to let him walk away because we could not, we don't have the money for him. Oh, yeah. Yeah, so we can start with the draft, right? The draft, we got, we got James Pierce out of Tennessee. What a beast. I mean, just seeing him in that preseason made me remember that a defense can actually sack a quarterback. I know, I know the offensive line was the backup guys against Detroit. I get it. Okay. The Tennessee team, whatever. It's the backups. I understand. But if you were watching the game that I was watching out there and seeing that man come out like a loose cannon, just head hunting. I mean, that's, I got chills in my body. Just, oh my God, the quarterback sack. Back to back plays. Oh my God, the quarterback is sacked. I cannot wait and I really hope to see these two rookies that we drafted in the first round of the 2025 draft. I cannot wait to see these young guys go out there and make a name for themselves because that seems like all they've been wanting to do in training camp. Yep. Insane. Yep. And to address all the people that have been hating our drafts over the past five years, let me, yeah, hey man, eat your heart out. Look at that offense. You can't be mad at that offense. We finally got the defensive players. I understand. Wasn't a little late. We didn't really go after anybody in the past couple of free agencies except for Calais Campbell and Matthew Judon, which, love those guys. Love their addition to the team. But we've got the defensive players. Okay, everybody, shut your mouth. We're coming. The defense, it's here. It's young, it's youthful, it's fast, it's hard-hitting. They're going to get in them trenches and they're going to get to that quarterback. I'm sick of hearing everybody, you know, over the years, like, wow, we really got Drake London, Dijon. Okay, I can kind of side with the Michael Pennix pick back then, but come on, fooling on Pennix. We're Pennix riding. We're Pennix riding. I bet you I wasn't. I bet you I wasn't. Yeah. Of course, of course, of course. Absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. A hundred percent, man. And to have that chemistry of just consistent of, you know, the guy that you're going to be next to on that field lining up. You know how he plays and how he moves, and it's way better to be able to communicate instead of, you know, looking across and not knowing, is it going to be this guy? Is it going to be that guy? Of course, you know, with extensions and everything and the free agency, I also would like to say and, you know, note a couple notable defensive pickups we got to help out. We got D-Tackle Morgan Fox from the Charters on a pretty good bargain deal, two years, nine million, to really enhance that interior pressure. He hasn't been really huge on the sacks, but we really just need a big guy in the trenches there to go ahead and stop that run game. We got Divine Diablo, hard-hitting dude, hard-hitting dude for the Raiders. He, I mean, absolutely electric, absolutely. The guy, the guy's a beast out there. He's scary. He's, I wouldn't want to line up against him. Yeah. We got Jordan Fuller, safety, one-year signing veteran from, well, he was on the Panthers last year. He only played nine games, was out with a hamstring. But hey, man, if we could just get this man healthy, what a depth piece we got. Yeah. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yeah. No, agreed. Again, with just some notable extensions, like you said, Jake Matthews, another guy, another huge piece on our offensive line is we got Caleb McGarry in there for a two-year season and up to $30 million. Unfortunately, we will not be getting to see him this season due to an injury in training camp. Real shame there. Real good guy to have there on the line, protecting our quarterback. However, we did, you know, we didn't pause. We didn't say, oh, didn't hold our head. We went out and immediately traded for Michael Jarrell from the Seattle Seahawks to help, you know, fix the gap we had there. And I'm interested to see this rookie. You know, this seventh-round rookie from Wisconsin that we got for, you know, whether it be depth or whatever, he was looking solid out there. I mean, he is a big boy. And I mean, you know, I can't wait to just see that offensive line as it's improved. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep.
