The speaker, Diva Miona, discusses the concept of fighting the good fight of faith based on the teachings of the Apostle Paul. It is described as a holy competition and a race in which faithful Christians must stay loyal to Jesus throughout their lives. This involves staying anchored in the Word and the power of the Spirit, obeying the faith, battling against sin, and showing love to others. The Galatians are given as an example of those who failed to fight the good fight by ignoring the Word of God. The speaker emphasizes the importance of perseverance and obedience in this race. The ultimate goal is to lay hold on eternal life, but salvation comes from God and our commitment to obeying is an expression of that salvation. Welcome to our weekly exhortation. Thank you for joining me. Thank you for your precious time. My name is Diva Miona, servant of God, servant of Jesus. In Saint Timothy chapter 6 verse 12, the Apostle Paul says, fight the good fight of faith. Lay hold on eternal life, for unto thou art also called, and hath professed a good profession before many witnesses. Our question is, how do we fight the good fight of faith? Praise the Lord. In his epistle, the Apostle Paul said, to lay hold on eternal life, every faithful Christian must fight the good fight of faith. What is the good fight of faith? How do we fight it? The good fight of faith is a holy competition. This competition is a kind of race. This race consists in staying faithful to Jesus for your entire life, through tribulation and hardship. To fight the good fight of faith means that we stand firmly anchored in the Word, in the power of the Spirit. If we want to use words that are familiar to us, we can affirm that this passage is related to the Christian duty of obeying the faith. The believer who fights the good fight of faith is the one who holds fast to God, battling against his sin, and who is able to love and show love to those around him, because it is in the believer's interest to know the rules that govern the kingdom in which he is. The good fight of faith is expressed in terms of race by the Apostle Paul. He said to the Galatians, Ye did run well, who did hinder you that you should not obey the truth? Praise the Lord. Galatians chapter 5, verse 7. If we reword this verse, we will get something like this. You did obey well, who did hinder you from obeying the truth? In this context, it is obvious that the expressions run the race and to obey mean the same. We can understand why the Apostle Paul heaved a sigh of relief, saying, I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy chapter 4, verse 7. Friend, see how the phrases, I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have kept the faith, are put side by side. We call this repetition or parallelism. In fact, Hebrew poetry uses parallelism. This means when you have two statements made parallel to each other, one explains the other. It is a repetition of words. So here, I have fought the good fight explains what is meant by, I have finished the race, and I have kept the faith. Parallelism appears frequently in both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. Unfortunately, the Galatians were not able to fight the good fight of faith. On the contrary, they fought the evil battle of faith by ignoring the Word of God. You know, one would have to be a fool not to obey the truth. Don't worry. I'm not the one who says so. The Apostle Paul said of the Galatians that they were bewitched. Paul expressed his disappointment. He said, O foolish Galatian, who had bewitched you, there you should not obey the truth. In other words, the Apostle Paul is saying, who had bewitched you, you Galatian, there you should not run the race, there you refuse to fight the good fight of faith. You will find this in Galatians chapter 3, verse 1. Furthermore, to add to the explanation, I would like to remind you of what the Lord Jesus says. He says, He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. The question is, what should we persevere in? Of course, it is in the race. It is about the good fight of faith. We have to be consistent in obeying from the heart the truth. Conclusion. You give the healing and grace our hearts always hunger for. Our question from the beginning was to know, how do we fight the good fight of faith? And what is the purpose? Well, we fight the good fight of faith by obeying the commandment. We also said that fighting the good fight of faith is nothing but to run with endurance the race that is set before us. Hebrews chapter 4, verse 1. The race is the obedience that comes from faith. We could not pretend to fight the good fight of faith from the time we cease to obey God. The disobedience of faith is what we can call the evil battle of faith. In this kind of battle, injustice is the master. However, the good fight of faith is when we obey from the heart that form of teaching whereunto we were delivered. The good fight of faith consists in laying aside every weight and sin and run with endurance the race that is set before us. Music Friend, the ultimate goal when we fight the good fight of faith is to lay hold on eternal life according to the Apostle Paul. But remember, do not make the mistake of believing that your salvation will come from your commitment in obeying the word of God. No. In fact, our commitment is just an expression of salvation. Our commitment to obeying is the mean by which God will determine His disposition toward us. For salvation comes from God. Music Friend, I hope you enjoyed this message and believe that you have understood what is meant by to fight the good fight of faith. God willing, we will be together next time. God bless. Shalom.
