Ok, this book is based on a historical fiction Of the Irish immigrant experience and some people major this book our second generation immigrants I want to learn more about the families This book is based on 16 year old Rose Nolan who traveled to New York City for a better job experience with her family Rose and her family arrive at Ellis Island and they are separated with their dad and her baby brother Joseph because Joseph sadly has trichoma With no man in the family Rose and her family go to their uncle Patrick's Rose and her family soon leave because they treat them poorly However, Rose and Maureen went to stay because they felt like they haven't given America a chance yet The mom in tears decides to let them go as Rose and Maureen settled down.
