Alien, the eighth passenger, is a science fiction and horror film directed by Ridley Scott and released in 1979. It stars Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerritt, Verónica Cartwright, Harriet Dane Steington, John Hart, Ian Hall, and Yasef Koto. The plot revolves around a crew being hunted by an alien creature. The script was written by Dan O'Bannon and Ronald Susset, drawing inspiration from various science fiction and horror works.
