Nothing to say, yet
The speaker reflects on receiving their retirement benefits and initially feeling uneasy about being called a senior citizen. However, they also recognize the benefits and respect that come with age. They contemplate their purpose in life and receive a card reminding them of their gifts and passion to help others. They decide to obey God's plan and surrender to His will. They encourage others to take care of themselves, physically and spiritually, and trust in God's strength. They emphasize the importance of faith and belief in God's promises. The speaker concludes by affirming that in the kingdom of God, there is no retirement, and God is always present with us. Well, the day finally arrived. I received my retirement benefits notice in the mail. I said to my husband, I guess I am a bona fide senior citizen now. Deep down inside, I did not want to be called a senior person, it just seemed so old. Our bodies sometimes remind us of maybe how long we've been living and that our performance is not as sharp as when we were younger. We had a great time laughing about it. But then I began to think about all of the benefits that come with being a seasoned person of our society. I can finally check out AARP, what those acronyms mean, enjoy all of those discounts they offer. Being counted amongst the ones who have paid their dues to society is probably special. Finally, to give respect from those younger than you, they just may even open a door for you. You know, the more I sat back thinking about what I was going to look forward to in my new game retirement years ahead, something did not seem right or settled. Telling someone as I go about my day, God bless you, that should be enough and not cause a lot of waves, you know, these days. Lord, not now, especially since I'm retired and out of the mainstream of life, so to speak. I've done my part and it's time for others to step up to the plate. I began to rationalize in my own thinking, making excuses of why I could not start again. God had other plans, of course, and do you know, I received a card from a beloved one who reminded me of my gifts and passion to help others find their place in the kingdom. At that point, I could only agree that it's better to obey God than man and to follow the prompting of his spirit. I was convinced that God still has a plan for my life and something for me to do. As I began to surrender to the Lord, I felt immediately his presence all over me and his peace. I thought about the scripture, Philippians 1 and 6 in the Passion Translation, he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion. Remember God rules with wisdom and purpose. Our freedom is in our obedience. God wants us to take care of ourselves, our temples, our bodies, so I encourage all of you who are out of the game, on the fence, to begin intensely studying his word, show yourself for proof, pray without ceasing, increase practicing his presence. Get your physical rest and do not burn the candle at both ends. Do bodily exercise and eat to live. He promised his strength, yes, 2 Corinthians 4 and 16, for which cause we think not, but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. So, he wants us to ask him for physical strength and stamina, yes. Do at least 30 minutes of some sort of aerobic exercise daily. Psalms 37 and 25 in the Passion Translation says, I was once experienced, but now I am old. Not once have I found a lover of God forsaken by him, nor have any of their children gone hungry. You've got to have faith and believe what God's word says. It doesn't matter what stage of life we are in, young at heart, in the prime of life, or one of God's little children. With God, all things are possible to him or her that believe. Psalms 40 and 11, God has a people who haven't bowed their knees to them. Submit your way to him, my friend. The Passion Translation also says, so, Lord, don't hold back your love or without your tender mercies from me. Keep me in your truth and let your passion overflow to me. No matter what I face. When you present God, he wants success and good for you, his child. He is willing and able to help present the best you. He loves his children and will see us through in completing his will in our lives. God will put super on our natural and we will be able to accomplish great exploits through him. Amen. God keeps reminding us to trust him in our faith because again he rules with wisdom and purpose. If this is you today, remember how God has used your gift before. Begin to yield to him today because he is looking for those who will serve him wholeheartedly. Jesus was our perfect example doing what the Father told him. Do things his way and he will sustain you. The word says we will not faint. Praise God. If God be for us, who could be against us? Lastly Isaiah 40 and 31, but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary and they shall walk and not faint. In the kingdom of God, I was told there is no retirement. Our Father is ever present. He will never leave us or forsake us.
