The host advises listeners to make a conscious effort to enhance their energy levels and build mental resilience. It is important to prioritize self-care and not neglect one's own needs while trying to meet the demands of others. The host shares their personal experience and encourages listeners to evaluate their own situation before making any necessary changes. What is happening team? So, welcome to another Extra Mile podcast guys, okay? And what we're gonna be going over with this one is, you're not burnt out, you're just doing a lot. So, I've seen quite a common theme popping up the past couple of weeks, and a lot of people saying that they are burnt out, right? And like, there is an element where some of these may be a bit burnt out, right? But what I just need you to understand is guys, these are doing a lot. And see, instead of just going to that turning point where you go, do you know what? I'm just burnt out here. It's not a case of you're burnt out, it's just the stuff that you can control. You're not controlling as much. It's as simple as that, guys. So, what I want you to think about is, right? So, see this past week, look at everything that you've done, right? Have you controlled your sleep to the best of your ability? Have you controlled your hydration to the best of your ability? Have you controlled your nutrition? Your recovery? Are you doing your mobility? Everything like this, guys, like, are you doing that? If the answer is yes, and you're still feeling completely fatigued and burnt out, then you're burnt out. If the answer is no, then you're not burnt out, you're just ignoring some of the facts that you can control. And it's as simple as that, guys. And this isn't for anyone to go off the fuck's route, man, and feel bad. This is just to go and say, like, I appreciate that you're doing a lot, but are you helping yourself out in the best way possible? Do you know what I mean? So, I want you to get a think of this, man. Like, what is one area that you have been kind of let's fuck this week or the past couple of weeks that needs to get locked in on as well? And guys, it's always a bit of perspective with this stuff. Like, we all, once we get busy, once we get tired, once we get a bit stressed out, we quite naturally go into default mode, where you go, nah, they'll find this, man. And it's not a case of you can't do it, it's just you're not managing it. And that's as simple as it is, guys, okay? And there will be an element where, yeah, you are a bit burnt out, but what I really need you to really start thinking about is going, right, how can I manage this? And guys, like, use this weekend, use the long weekend to, like, reset it. Reset the bar, put in words there, full reset. Do you know what I mean? But, like, reset your standards, reset your planning, have everything locked in, and just really look at it and go, right, what can I actually do going forward that's going to enhance my energy? Because I guarantee you, see, if I was a fly in the well watching your day-to-day actions, right, there would be bits that I would fix. In fact, if you watch my day-to-day actions, there would be bits that you would fix for me as well. Do you know what I mean? It swings from roundabouts, guys. But what I need you to do is just really be in there and go, right, what do I need to change immediately? What do I need to put more effort and emphasis into? Because at the end of the day, guys, we've got guys varying between, like, their running. We've got guys varying between, like, six days in the gym. Guys that are really deep into a fat loss journey at the moment. People that are training for high rocks. There's all sorts going on. We've got people that have got the count walk right round the corner as well, so they're trying to manage their steps on top of that. So there's a lot going on, guys, and, like, what you need to understand is, right, one, you signed up for this journey. You asked for this to happen, so, like, accept the challenge, right? And two, are you doing everything in your power to control your energy? And it's like, guys, as we've always said, right, this needs to be a healthy obsession. Once you get to that standard, that level, right, it's not a case of, like, you're just going to the gym and ticking a box anymore. It's not enough. Do you know what I mean? It isn't enough. You need to look at every other factor, man. You need to look at your stress, your nutrition, your hydration, your sleep, your movement, who you're sharing your ideas with, what kind of information you're taking in. Like, everything like that, guys, we really need to lock in on, and it's something that I have noticed recently, man, and it happens, man. It generally does happen, man, where you do start to feel a bit tired, right? But it is a case of going to the walk, pull your socks up, and get on with it. It's as simple as that. It's as black and white as that, and going, right, what can I actually do to bring my energy up a wee bit? Because, again, like, I was having a conversation with one of these, right, you can be proactive about a situation, or you can be reactive about a situation. Do you know what I mean? Proactive is going, right, what can I do, looking within, going, right, how can I get on top of my energy a bit more? How can I enhance it a wee bit more while I'm navigating through this very, very busy period? A reactive person throws their toys at the palm and goes, ah, what the fuck's the point? Fuck it, nah, I can't do it. That's just shit. Do you know what I mean? You might not say the exact words to me, but I know that's what you'll be thinking. Do you know what I mean? So it's really locking that in and going, right, guys, what do we actually want from this? What do we want to achieve from this standpoint? What do we want to get at the end of this, this target that we've all set out at the moment? And again, guys, what you really want to be building is some fucking serious resilience. That's what you're looking to gain here. Yeah, the physical results will come, the targets will get hit, the body transformations will come, but see if you can build that mental resilience with showing up when most people would shy away. That's the game changer. It's like what Jonathan was talking about, man, like you heard his story. There was so much that went against him, and he still showed up, man. And then we'll have some people who are just feeling a wee bit tired, man, and I guarantee you there'll be some of you who's going, I can't wait to lie into 12 o'clock tomorrow because you've got a Saturday off, or even you've already maybe have done it because you had a Friday off. Do you know what I mean? Like, nah, that's not the standard you wanna be setting, guys. Do you know what I mean? You wanna be keeping in your routines, man, keeping everything locked in and going to that next level. As I say, guys, like, in order to get to places you've never been, you need to do things you've never done, okay? And again, like, the main thing I want you to become aware of, man, is going, right, is my energy just a bit low because I'm not doing what I need to do, or am I burnt out? I feel like we can kind of go to that place where I go, nah, I'm feeling a bit burnt out, and I'm like, you're not burnt out, mate. You're just a bit tired. It's as simple as that, guys. And, like, there becomes a point, like, where you need to just kind of get on with it, within reason, obviously, right? But it's like, the way you kind of think about it, guys, if you are committed, if you are all in, man, then there's gonna be a part of you that's a bit shit. Do you know what I mean? It's like, right now, guys, right, so I am four weeks out from my photo shoot. I'm running three times a week, 70 minutes each, training four times in the gym. I had my double day yesterday, and I'm fucked, right, I'm tired, man. But I'm not burnt out. I just need to get on with it. I just need to keep going. This is what I signed up for. I was gonna be fatigued. This was going to happen. Do you know what I mean? But I'm doing everything that I can control. I'm making sure I'm getting good sleep. I'm making sure my nutrition's on point, my hydration's on point, my movement. Everything that I can control, I am controlling, guys. So I need you to kind of think about and go, what am I not controlling right now that I can control? What have you let the standards put from? What are you letting just kind of go to the wayside? What do you know that you need to basically get a grip of? And that is gonna bring your energy up, man. Because again, since you've got everything under control and you're still feeling low in energy and all that stuff, then we can maybe look at the fact that you're burnt out, right? But I'm looking across the board at everyone, right, and everyone's progressing. Do you know what I mean? If you're burnt out, you're not progressing. Do you know what I mean? You're just tired. You're just feeling it a wee bit more. So just have that in between your teeth where you go, do you know what? I'm going on here. I'm making this happen. And just really tighten the bolt on the areas that are a wee bit slack. Okay, so I want you to kind of think about that before going into Easter, before going into that weekend and all that kind of stuff, and just see what needs to be done, okay? And sometimes there needs to be sacrifice made. Sometimes there needs to be decisions made to bring that energy back up. Because at the end of the day, right, if you're not 100% for you, then how can you be 100% for anyone else? We're all very good at going, but I need to do this for them. Cool. You might have had to do that. I get that. But are you putting yourself first and foremost? No. Well, you're shooting yourself in the foot and you're shooting yourself and you're not shooting the person in the foot and you're letting the other person down slightly because you're not giving them 100% of you. Because you can't give 100% of you because you're not 100%. Do you know what I mean? So guys, I want you to kind of think about that before we go into this weekend, right? Are you burnt out? Are you just a bit tired of the work that you're doing? Because you're doing a lot. It's as simple as that. And if you are doing a lot that the majorities are doing, fucking all of you are doing, then you need to look at areas and go, right, where can I tighten up? Because I guarantee you, there's one or two areas that have usually let slip over the past couple of weeks. It's the reason why your energy's dipped a wee bit, okay? It's always within and never without, okay? 90% of the time, that is the case, guys. Okay, so I want you to kind of think about that, guys, okay? I don't want anyone to say, I'm completely burnt out. We'll decide if you're burnt out. Nah, I'm only joking. But as I say, we'll look across the board. Now you think that's it? You're just saying a bit of a tease, guys. So I want you to look across the board and go, right, what areas do I need to tighten up on? What have I let slip? And ultimately, what's going to bring that energy up, guys? So drop in the comments below. Drop us a message in the energy chat with the areas that you know you need to knuckle down on. Let's make sure it happens.
