Experiencing the death of a sibling at a young age can have long-lasting effects on a person's mental and physical health. Epidemiologists find that a major stressful life event that leads to increased health risks, including higher rates of mortality in adulthood. This shows how experiencing a traumatic event like a death as a child can have lifelong effects, even as an adult. These effects are not only mental, but they can also present physically. Based on the information presented, it is clear that there are physical and psychological effects on children when they experience death and grief.
