Tiasani asks Gutierrez about countries that are accepting refugees. Gutierrez says African countries are generally accepting, while Middle East and Asian countries have accepting tendencies. The developed world is more complex due to discussions on refugee protection and security. Bilateral and multilateral cooperation is important. Tiasani mentions Trump's statement about shutting down Muslims entering the US. Gutierrez believes this kind of policy helps terrorist organizations recruit Muslims already in the country. Progressing in the conversation, Tiasani asked Gutierrez, quote, what countries are doing it right. Gutierrez explains that 86 percent of refugees in the world live in the developing world. So African countries are generally very accepting, and Middle East and Asian countries have, quote, accepting tendencies. He also mentions that for a long time, all of the borders in the Middle East were open. Asian countries have accepting trends, whereas the developed world is more, quote, complex due to, based on public opinion, a mixture of discussions between refugee protections on one side and security questions misinterpreted on the other side. He also mentions that bilateral and multilateral cooperation is essential and that everyone needs to contribute to offer support to refugees. Additionally, Tiasani goes to mention that Trump had released a statement earlier in the morning that day stating that he was calling for a complete and total shutdown of Muslims entering the U.S. until the country's representatives can figure out what was going on. He then asked Antonio what his reaction to this was. He – Antonio goes on to state that the reason why he – why Donald Trump and other international political leaders say this is because they think that they are protecting the security of their country. Antonio goes on to say if you say that we are going to close our doors to Muslim refugees, what you're saying is the best possible help for the propaganda of terrorist organizations. He goes on to explain that they are paving the way for Muslims already within the country to be willingly recruited into society-penetrating terrorist groups.
