Just to preface this before I start reading it, this is about an uncle we'll all recognize. So as I read it, remember, say your prayers. If you thought for a second I wouldn't be watching, you didn't say your prayers. I see you folks up front and some in the back crying. You must be crying for my children, for world peace, for justice, for the hungry, for unborn children who might have made this world a better place, or for boys that will never become men. Oh, I see some of my children crying too. I know you're not crying for me. All of my long life I've been blessed. You have loved me and I loved you more. Say your prayers. Waste not your tears for me. Count my years. I said my prayers. The master heard my every word and he told me to make his house my home. Say your prayers. When you pray, ask God to deliver you from two bombed ships in the middle of the Pacific Ocean without a scratch and not to let more than a glass of water wet you. Because he knew you couldn't swim, he did it for me. Say your prayers. Life is a bigger ocean than the Pacific and all the seas combine, and the tidal waves of confusion and misunderstandings are far greater than the bombs that hit the ships I was on. But there is my God and he'll be your God too. Say your prayers. Ask God to put a smile on your face and love in your heart. He did it for me. He'll do it for you. Say your prayers. If you are right and it won't bring peace, take wrong. Say I'm sorry and you share the love that only forgiveness can bring. Hold hands in each other, not grudges. Forget past wrongs and when you go to sleep at night and open your eyes and mine, nothing really matters, just as long as you don't forget how to love. Say your prayers. I loved hellos and I hated goodbyes, and I really don't believe there's any good in goodbye. But say your prayers until we meet again. Put your dog glasses on and a bright smile on your face. Turn your cap backwards and your life straight and try and try and try to be as cool as my Uncle Jews. Keep the faith and say your prayers.
