Oh, whoa, whoa Throw the happy dance Hey, y'all Um Well, it's Katie and Mello Back at it again Back in the studio What's up, guys? Hey, y'all Welcome to our first podcast Congrats, yes Um, we're just gonna do like a quick introduction About like, just one thing Like, just talking about us and like I guess one cool thing about us Whatever type Dwayne and like, I don't know Just kinda chill vibes, you know how it is So, I'm gonna let my My broski go Okay, hey guys, I'm Katie I'm a sophomore here at CFC I'm originally from Smithville, Rhode Island Small town in the small state Yeah Um, a couple things about me What I like to do, I love to go to the beach I love to longboard, ride my bike, be outside I love to hang out with my friends Um, learn Yeah, on the side, I guess I mean, I am here Um, what's a little fun fact about me? I mean, you cool as fuck Right? I feel like I really am I know, um, my current obsession Is the gym I go every day The addiction Actually, it's healthy I'm living my best life, to be honest I'm probably gonna do A podcast or something like that She's like really big with that Especially with the gym and everything She's cool with it You introduce yourself? Carmella, you know, I go to college You know how it is I hike, backpack, and I play Sing type shit, you know how it is Oh yeah, we sing Um, so one cool thing I'd definitely say is that I'm cool with shit But, um, I I mean, I play the violin I love music type things Fashion too I love fashion, you know how it is So, um, but yeah Basically, how's your day and everything Just kind of talk about what's been going on And just kind of chill vibes, you know Um, I mean I woke up I woke up like this Um, I woke up, it was pretty chilly out But I've been working on my outfits Because, honestly, I'm inspired by Carmella Yeah So I've been working on my outfits because When you look good, you feel good Exactly Yeah, I've been switching things up Went to my internship At the CSD, we'll probably talk about that later Um, and then I had Two classes, my comm class Which is my major, communications And then Spanish, and then I went to the gym I called my mom, I call my mom every day Mom, if you're listening Hey! Um, and then What did I do? And then I had more internships Internships? Um Yeah, and now we're here I called Bella and We're in the stew What about you, how's your day? I'd have to say pretty chill vibes I have a late night class At like 630, so Um, I mean, the weather's Chilling, so I gotta be chill Chilled too, you know how it is Um, you know, I'm here in the stew And I saw a bunch of my friends and everything Passing, so it was good vibes and everything Um, my fit was actually hard Like I actually had like No, no, no, like I had like these Bruh, I was really fitted today Honestly, to be honest with you Because I'm going to fashion week this week So I'm just trying to like get some inspirations You know how it is In New York Yeah, I'm a stylist for H&M, so it's pretty sick though But um, I think One of the biggest things, like first steps To kind of introduce our podcast and everything And kind of get to know us And see if you're interested Is that like, our friendship, you know what I mean And like the significance of Being friends and like How Katie and I basically became friends To be honest with you It's pretty sick though, like Honestly, it was a massive build up Um, so basically Me and Mela met in our acapella group The Charleston Vibes Follow us on Instagram, at the Charleston Vibes I run the Instagram, the Facebook, and the TikTok Oh yeah, yeah, yeah I am the PR for the Vibes Um, shout out Shout out, hashtag communications major Um, but yeah, we met I mean, Mela was really Like quiet in the beginning, but she was so cool She was so intimidating, like I was like But I was like, nah, I can break it Yeah, she did, she did, she did I know, I was like, once I'm like Once I'm like funny and like She really like opened me up I really did, honestly In the group, but We went mountain weekend, and then we went on a hike I remember it was us and like a few other cool people Yeah, like, it was like a small group And we were on a hike, and then I was like Why are we not friends? Honestly, like, I was just like I love the Acapella Group or any organizations I'm just definitely like At that point, I Didn't really have like a lot of friends and stuff like that Because I was just always so busy And like, I was trying to learn how to like Break out of my shell, and like Katie As someone who's just like so much out there That I see like within myself, but I didn't know How to express that, she really like Opened that door for me, so like Honestly, being like surrounded by people Who put you in a position Where you feel uncomfortable to be able to like Be better, that's basically what she did for me So like, going to Mountain Week and like Her coming up to me and talking to me and everything Like, really allowed me to like start doing The same thing for other people, so like shout out to Katie You know how it is I knew she was cool, I just knew like I was like, I need to get to know her And then, one thing that Yeah, yeah, but after that We won't go too deep into that, into how it happened Can't talk about this, my mom's gonna watch it probably But, yeah But like, I mean like Friendships is like beautiful, you know what I mean And I think like, throughout our friendship and everything Like I said, like it was a massive build up And so, I think within all friendships Or like all relationships, it's kind of like It should be a build up, you know what I mean Like a climax going up, so Would you say the same thing? And I feel like we're definitely, like now that Like we hang out all the time, and it's such a good Friendship honestly, like We know where we stand, we always talk Like, this is why we started the podcast We were like, dude, our conversations need to be heard Exactly, exactly But, yeah, we talk a lot And communication is the key in friendship But not only that, but it's like Communication and compassion Like, the intent of when we have these conversations And like, one of the biggest things that I feel like everyone kind of misconstrued is that Yes, trust is a big thing And communication is a big thing, but Behind all of that is compassion and your intent So we can have a conversation, and like One person feels everything, and the other person Just thinks it's a conversation And like, I think that's what the beauty is Within this relationship, is that like We can have a conversation, and we get something out of it And it's like, either us being loved Or being heard, or like Trying to be understood and everything, but like I think communication and compassion Is the biggest thing, CC, Buddha You know what I mean? But, yeah, like active Active listening Is so important I learned about this recently, and I know it Sounds kind of stupid to talk about like a term From class, but active listening Is so important, actually listening And taking in what someone is saying Like reading their body language, their face Like understanding exactly How they're feeling It makes you care, it makes you care more And then you care about the person more And then you learn more about them And then it kind of gets reciprocated Like, the biggest thing is like You can always listen to people But you have to understand where they're coming from, too And I feel like, CC and I do like A really good job with Understanding and trying to put Each other in each other's shoes Respectively Obviously we're gonna have some disagreements But how we go about it is depending on You know, like Towards the situation, you sit down Have a conversation, or however we end up Dealing with it, but I feel like You just gotta know the person You gotta want to know the person You gotta figure out if you want to keep I don't know, like, keep going with it You know what I mean? You gotta figure out what you want To yourself and in others Yeah, there you go! That was slow, but I know what I'm talking about! I know what you're talking about! But yeah, I mean The biggest thing is that friendship is everything And that's within all relationships Within your relationship with your parents, with your actual friends Or with your lover Or with your acquaintances and stuff like that But like, communication and your compassion Is what really brings us out And like, Katie was just talking about self-care And going to the gym and everything I mean, that's one of the biggest things It carries who you are and everything As you're interacting with others And so Yeah I'll get you a class soon Yeah, yeah, yeah! But like, you'll definitely hear from us at some point You know how it is You got last words, right? I'm so excited for this to start Oh my god You got two northerners And it's gonna be Rhode Island, New York, United Yeah But honestly Guys, as we go, this is just gonna get Better and better Honestly, the weather's getting warmer I'm getting stronger Things are looking up But we're gonna have guests We're gonna have a whole bunch of fun activities And fun new things coming And different topics Discussing about our growth And us being women And us being students And friendships and stuff like that It's just everything You're gonna be hearing from our perspective And our lives, I guess Happy New Year!
