They mention upcoming discussions about music and play a song by Dua Lipa. You're listening to WCCU Radio, Coastal Carolina University's student-run radio station. You guys, you're back on the Anti-Social Butterfly. You know what's crazy? This is my last first day of the semester being back. So what that means is I'm graduating this semester. It's crazy! I've enjoyed this show so much. I've enjoyed you guys listening. Everyone's so interactive and so inspiring. You know, the reason I keep going, you know, it makes my heart tingle. So with that being said, as always at the beginning of the semester, I just like to take a minute, talk about like, I have a guest on here. Just talk about everything under the sun. You know, slowly work our way back into things. But within the future of this semester, you can of course, there's some rumbling in here. I think somebody's like trying to take out the trash or something, but you can expect some more like collaborations, more guests. That's what we love to see on here. But for now, we're just taking it easy. We're gonna be talking about everything from spring, senior year, just fun stuff that happens around this time. Just anything that comes to my head, which is dangerous territory, but it happens. You get to see a little crazy side. But anyways, you guys, I have some songs lined up for you today. If you didn't know, Post Malone is gonna be making a country album soon. He had been interested in it, or he had claimed he was for a long, long time, but never got around to do it. But then at the CMAs, he sang with Morgan Wallen and Harvey. And then later on, he was featured in the song along with some other artists. So I have that playing for you right now. Stay tuned and chants up. You're back listening to WCC Radio, Coastal Carolina University's student-run radio station. You guys, I know I live a little bit less than an hour away from campus, but whenever I'm back on campus, I feel so, so much better. Like you would think if it's like, oh, I'm used to this area. I've been here my whole life. But it feels like Coastal always offers something new. So I'm grateful to be here another semester, you guys. I don't know about y'all's break. I had an amazing, amazing, amazing Christmas break. If you guys don't already know, my birthday is also a week after Christmas. And between Christmas and my birthday, and Rhett and I's annual Anderson Collins Christmas Family World Tour, between all of that, there's just so, so much traveling. And then not only that, I was also a chaperone for one of the youth trips that my youth group went on. But I went to it as a youth myself. But now that I'm a young adult, I was like an assistant chaperone. It was very fun. I had an amazing, amazing time. And then, of course, Christmas was an amazing, amazing time. And then for my birthday, I turned 21. And it's crazy to think that. I still feel like I'm a little seven-year-old stuck in like a grown woman's body. I'm just like, I'm growing up too fast, slow down. But with that being said, you guys, it is just, I don't know. I feel like, I don't even know what to, I don't even know how to say it. I feel like you get it. If you get it, you get it. Not only that, this part of the semester, it's crazy because I'm trying to knock out some final classes, get some fun classes in. I feel like this semester, ooh, I gotta move the mic, sorry, you guys. Anyway, so this semester, my fun quote-unquote classes to fill up the extra credits I needed. No one's yoga. I do that every Monday, Wednesday, Friday. It's a really good way for me, at least, to wake up. I have to get here at like 10 o'clock, which is so early for me. If you know me, I love to sleep. So that's difficult, but it's so rewarding. I've always been flexible my whole life. And it's been, I remember doing sports in high school. I was very flexible, but I wasn't necessarily the strongest or the fastest. So I feel like doing yoga is like a hidden skill that's like, whoa, I'm very flexible, yay. I feel recognized now. I feel like I've just understood a need that was never met. So it's really cool with that. Then I also have a dance class. So the department, the Edwards College, they released a dance minor. And with that, there's a bunch of different dance classes. So I decided, why not take a dance for like the little to no experience dance class. There we go. So it's two credits. So of course I was like, whoa, that's even greater. Let's go. And so I took it thinking it was gonna be like ballroom dancing, very like, what's the show called? Bridgerton, is that the one? I don't know, like with the big, fancy ball gowns, like very, very professional and quaint. I don't know what the words are, but so I thought it was gonna be that and it's not. I'm doing like a lot of ballet. I hated ballet growing up. I begged my mom to take me out and she told me like pretty much to stick it out for another year. And that was the worst year. I gave my mom so much grief. And after that, she was like, please don't ever pick up it again. And then I went to college. I'm like, yay, let's do it. So I got some dance or some jazz shoes, but we also go over jazz in it. I was a cheerleader in high school. So of course, all the rhythms and more dancey jazz, hip hop type stuff is more my comfort level. But we're also having to do like a lot of plies and a lot of other terms I haven't learned quite yet. So we're gonna see how that goes. And then my favorite of the fun classes is Intro to Creative Writing. I love, love, love to write. It's just, you know, it's fun. And then I have Capstone, honors thesis Capstone, not looking very pretty. It's like, ooh, we had some bumps in the road with that one trying to get it okayed as an honors because if I didn't get it okayed by a certain deadline, it was not gonna happen. I would have not graduated like instantly right off the bat. And that's not a good way to start your semester, right? So we figured that out. And then let's see here. I have Advanced Social Media Marketing. Love that class. And then I had Digital Marketing, which is cool. It's ite, so a lot of stuff there. It's crazy though. Spring is so such, it's, I don't know. I feel like a lot of times when you come in your like fall semester, you give it your all and then you get burnt out. And usually spring, you're kind of feeling that, still feeling that burnout, but there's more going on, not necessarily holiday-based, but more events and things to do, especially, you know, I would argue, especially in an area like here. For example, I love spring because that gives me a reason to go dress shopping. I mentioned it a million times on here, but I will continue to say it for anyone new here that's listening. Thank you for tuning in today, by the way. I internally feel like a frolicking princess, like cottagecore, you know, very like elegant and you know, just nature-based. I just, that's my dream. And anytime I can make that a reality, I'm of course full-steaming it. So let's see here. This year, I have senior photos. Trying to figure that out still, what I want to do, all this, that, and the other. Then I have the, is it called the Ballister Ball? I don't know. It's the law ball that I go with Rhett. I went last year with him and I got like a good dress. I got to pick it out. It was a black dress and I thought like, ooh, that's gonna suit me so well. Like, you know, black isn't my normal go-to for a dress. And then, you know, I feel like I want more flavor. I've been looking at dresses today. And then you've of course got your more like, not really formal, but not as big of an event. You have stuff like Easter. And of course, spring weddings are a big thing. So figuring out like wedding outfits, I think that's always fun. So it's just like, I don't know. There's so many good ones. Today I was looking, there are so many green ones. If you know me, my favorite color is sage green. A lot of those, a lot of tan ones. And I don't know. I feel like wearing a teal dress would be a statement. Oh, and another thing. I just don't like very traditional stuff. So I'm trying to like really be creative about this, what I like, how to capture what I'm thinking internally. Because it's, you know, if I'm not doing it, it's, you know, I have to make sure that I communicate what I'm thinking to others. But with that being said, you guys, if you have any recommendations, you know anything, let me know. Because also for Christmas, I got this little sewing, what do you call it, mannequin. And I'm gonna get some stuff. And I practice sewing a little bit. Whenever I went to the Ren Faire, I had like kind of stitched up like a skirt and like made some things like accessories. And so that was really fun. But it's like, oh, I want to get better at sewing. I want to make my own dresses. How cool is that? But the thing is, I'm pretty much on campus all day. Oh, also, I got promoted, yay! I'm program director of WCCU Radio Now. That's so cool. So I'm really excited. I have a lot of big plans for the station, how we're gonna grow it. If you have any recommendations for me, what would you like to see on here, let me know. As always, you can follow me on Instagram. It's at m-a-c-i-k-a-y-e dot a. And today, I don't really have a questionnaire up because I was supposed to do this show last week, but then I got a really bad migraine. So it was a no-go. I was like, I can't drive. We're just gonna put this off to next week. So I still have your responses. We're gonna be talking about music later on. In the next segment, I'm probably gonna be talking about some heat, especially with the Billboard like top five. I think there's some really interesting stuff going on. So stay tuned. But right now, we have some Dua Lipa Houdini coming up. So stay tuned and chomps up. You're back listening to WCCU Radio, Coastal Carolina University student-run radio station. Before I dive into the good stuff, let me just say, I have like, well, what was I gonna say? Guys, oh my, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry, guys, I just, I'm so scatterbrained today. I think it's the weather, the cloudiness. It really gets me like so sleepy and dreary and just not really fun, right? So the fun thing about having athletic classes every single day, that means I'm in athletic wear. I don't get to dress up very pretty. So if you ever see a sweaty girl with a yoga mat running around campus wearing a sage green garment or purse or whatever, that's probably me. So say hi because I wanna meet you guys. Secondly, there's some good stuff going on in like social media world right now. So one crazy thing is apparently starting tomorrow, like a lot of TikTok sounds are gonna be taken down. I don't know if it applies to Instagram too. Don't know, but I know for a fact it's TikTok. And basically the reason why behind it is the Universal Music Company, there's something with their licensing and all that and then their agreement is it like stops tomorrow. So basically what that means is tomorrow, a lot of artists including like Taylor Swift, I think Travis Scott was on the list, like ABBA, ABBA, ABBA, I've never known how to say that. I'm sorry. So anyways, they will be taken off of TikTok so those sounds and audios won't be there. So this is my public service announcement. If you have a really, really, really good video on TikTok, download it with the audio today. It might get copyright strike later in the future, but at least you have it with the original audio because my worst pet peeve, at least growing up, was me wanting to look back on my musical.lys or memories and just get a good laugh at myself and not be able to because the audio's gone. Like where's the fun in that? It adds flavor, so allow it to do that. And with the whole music industry, all that going on, I think it is hilarious, hilarious, hilarious. The drama that is going on in the top five right now, okay? So there's three people that have top five songs on the Billboard 100 maybe, I don't know, but it's basically iTunes and all that. So the funniest one is What's That Number One currently at the moment. So there's this rapper, I forget his name, but he like talks and like quote unquote controversial, right, just vents what he's feeling, right? So he put Ben Shapiro on it to rap a verse and everybody like was sweeped away because it's like oh it sounds like AI, like this man literally had to slow down his speech when referring to all this. Like this man talks way faster than what he raps but in like a good way because he could like understand what he's saying and he's not rambling. And then it's funny because at one of the verses he like calls out Nicki, quote unquote Nicki. So it's unsure if it's like Nicki Minaj or like Nikki Haley because of the presidential debate, presidential debate, whatever. So what's funnier is that Nicki Minaj, she reacted to it on Twitter and was basically saying like you know, not bad Ben Shapiro, okay, okay, see you there. At first I thought it sounded like this song but like okay, like solid. Okay, so then, that's one segment and then you have the other two on the top view. You have Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion. So Megan Thee Stallion wrote a song called Hiss and basically in there she refers to like these people are mad at me, or these people aren't mad at me, they're mad at Megan's law which you can look that up if you know, you're old enough, whatevs. But basically it hit a nerve with Nicki and Nicki Minaj then tried to diss Megan Thee Stallion in her song like Bigfoot and it's making fun of a bunch of stuff. And then Megan Thee Stallion has been very quiet about it but she's been posting a lot of anime references and the people who have seen those animes, I think one of them was like Tokyo Ghoul with the flowers. People are like, this is only begun, this is not good. I personally don't listen to Megan Thee Stallion or Nicki Minaj. I mean, there's like some songs like that's like oh, like Her by Megan Thee Stallion, yes, love that song. Okay, I think it's, I can't remember what song it was by Nicki Minaj but there's one that just, like I just love but my point is it's so funny and then Ben Shapiro seems to be taking Nicki's side and it's like really funny because it's like all these dramas like at the top and it's like, you know, there's just gonna be a bunch of diss tracks about everything, people and it's just like, oh no, like, it's like, okay, so I don't mind a good diss track. Back in the day, the Jake Paul, Logan Paul, why did I wanna call him Dylan, that's really weird. Jake Paul, Logan Paul, like those diss tracks, like everyone knew it was kind of fake. They're brothers, of course, they're gonna monetize off of it. Same thing with Logan Paul, KSI, same thing, right? But it's like, when it's actually heated, it's, I think it's okay unless it's like, the bars are just bad. Some of them seem so lazy and just like, like Nicki's just about like taking a jab just to take a jab, but not even like, you know, it wasn't very methodical, you know, and so it's like, I'm tuning in to see what's gonna happen later, it's, I don't even know. So with that, I keep losing my train of thought, you guys. Oh, right, I was gonna do story times about like everything else going on in my life. So, my phone doesn't want to glitch, that would be cool. I mean, I'm not complaining, it can do what it wants. Oh, this is so random, you guys. I was, oh, two things actually. So, because a long, long time ago, okay, would you believe it, I've played Xbox for a vast majority of my life. I love it, it's a good escape, good way to take your mind off things, right? And there's this one game I started playing from day one, it's called Fortnite, I'm sure you've heard about it. Okay, save the world mode came out and my friend got me the code for it the day it came out. I didn't even have to pay a penny for it. But then, we loved it, and then they were like, oh, we're having a battle royale version come out. We're like, okay, cool. So since season one, I was really, I don't wanna say really, really into it, but season two was really good, right? But then after a while, kids started hopping on it and it became kind of cringe and all that. I was like, mm, it's not as fun anymore, I'm gonna remove myself, right? But then, Avenged Sevenfold, the band that I really, really like. I'm not big into rock, metal type stuff usually, but I love me some Avenged Sevenfold. They created, not really a game mode, but it was something, I don't even know. It didn't get a lot of attention. But I downloaded Fortnite just because of that and I started playing again, and I kid you not, it's really not good, I love it so much. I've gotten a battle royale with 12 kills before and me and my boyfriend, we now do little date nights kind of, of Fortnite dates since we're long distance or either we have some of our friends join and it's really fun, I really like it. But I got level 100 in about a week of having the battle pass. It was not very healthy, but I love it, it is what it is. And then, it's so funny how, because at this point, I don't even care if people are like, oh, that's cringe. It's like, it's really good right now and I know it's gonna hit a decline, but it is what it is, I'm enjoying it right now, right? Well, speaking about the nostalgia and stuff, I'm scrolling on TikTok and there's a Let's Play video that was going live at that point and it was at the PlayStation 2 Madagascar game. Guys, if you played it, you played it, but that opened so many memories for me. I played the Disney one on the PS2, I played the regular Lightning McQueen Cars racing game, so fun, I don't know, it's just, it's like, you kind of forget things until social media opens up your eyes sometimes. So, Whip said, oh, I just had a voice crack. That was not very pretty. There's a song I've been having stuck on repeat. It's called We Had It Good by Chase Matthew. Stay tuned, shots up. You're back listening to WCC Radio, Coastal Carolina University's student-run radio station. You're back on the anti-social butterfly in Britain 301. So, this is probably my favorite part of the whole show. You know, I'm tired of hearing me talk, especially on these whenever I don't have a guest. It's just like, this is my way of getting everybody involved and even if you sent it a week ago, well, just pretend like it's just like right now, okay? So, the question I asked for this week is, point of view, you're being forced to only listen to three artists. Who are you choosing? This is such a hard question for me personally because I feel like, yes, I'm very loyal to certain artists but I also like certain songs. Like, I feel like there's some creators I like, oh, I only like one or two of their songs or oh, I only like these ones. It's hard for me to just pick, you know, because it's like, oh, like I can't listen to those few really, really, really, really good songs. Because some of my favorite songs of all time are from artists that I don't even necessarily like. It's like, oh, they just had that one banger that's just staying on the playlist, always staying on the recently on repeat. But you guys, before I get into these, you can follow me at my Instagram. This is where I always have my questionnaires. It is m-a-c-i-k-a-y-e dot a. Because I wanna see you guys involved. Like, I wanna hear what you have to say. Everyone has a good opinion and it's just like a good way for us to talk. Okay, so I am pulling it up back now because my phone decided to turn off. That's great. Doot, doot, doot, doot, doot, doot, doot. Okay, let's see here. Who are we choosing for today? We had a lot of submissions. There was like, I counted, there was like 17, you guys. So, I'm not gonna be able to go into all of these. Let's see here. Let's see here, doot, doot, doot, doot, doot. Okay, here's a good one. Riley Marlanger, okay. She says, Taylor Swift, duh, one direction, in parentheses. So, I don't have to pick just one, lol. And in five seconds it's over, okay. Taylor Swift, I listened to her whole discography. You know, people like her, people don't, whatever, right? That's fine, okay. One Direction, I loved, loved, loved, loved One Direction. I had the CD for, was it Midnight Memories? I gave it to my sister, but I ended up listening to it way more. I had it downloaded on my iPad. I have this vivid memory of just like, or not driving, but riding in this bus all the way to Washington, D.C. while listening to all the tracks. And not even the popular ones from One Direction. There's just like so many good ones. But then, as the band grew up and started growing apart or whatever, it's like, some of them were hits. You could just tell the vibe was a little bit off. That's how I felt about it, at least. And then, Five Seconds of Summer, okay, so I liked some of their newer music. Like, their, the new music, I honestly think of me starting the radio because the first day I started, the old station manager lived, she did all my songs, she did the whole schedule for me since I was starting out and I didn't know how to do it right. And she put a Five Seconds of Summer song in there and I forgot the name of it. But it was really, really good. And so, I always think of starting the radio when I hear Five Seconds of Summer. And when I was young, there was one particular song I really liked, but I just could never find it again. My friends played it once for me, could never find it. If you ask me today, I still don't know the lyrics. So, if anybody has good song suggestions there, let me know. All right, next one. Okay, okay, okay. Rhett, Rhett, Rhett, okay. That's my boyfriend. Hi, Rhett, you're listening, hi. So, he says, Avenged Sevenfold, My Chemical Romance, and Metallica. Avenged Sevenfold, 100% agree with you. I'm stuttering so bad today, you guys. This is not good. This is not a good look for our first, the last first show of the semester. That is not a good look. But anyways, Avenged Sevenfold, loved it. They have a new game mode on Fortnite to kind of avenge the last one. So, we played it. And then there's also a little hidden Easter egg and it gives you an inside, like a sneak peek of the song that they're gonna upload. And it's like a remix. Rhett, correct me if I'm wrong. Is it considered a remix? But it was really fun. Really fun to play. It was a good kind of puzzle game, if you will. My Chemical Romance, not my vibe. There's like one song maybe. And then Metallica, yes. I like Metallica, all right. It took me a while to get into a lot of the heavy, would you call that heavy metal? I mean, I would. I don't know. I just wasn't big into metal for the longest time. But there's some songs by Metallica that I really, really like, okay. So, very nice. Thank you both for y'all's submissions. Let's see who else we have. Ooh, okay, Olivia, station manager I mentioned beforehand that is already graduated. Olivia West says, Callied, Frank Ocean, and Post Malone. Okay, so for the longest time, Post Malone, he's always been my number one for forever and ever and ever. Past four years on my Spotify, right? Callied, he's been always at my number three, number four. This is the only year, though, that he didn't make my top five, which I was really surprised about. My favorite song by him is Eleven. Really, really good song. Post Malone, I talk about Post Malone any chance I get. I love his music. I don't know. I don't know what my favorite song by Post Malone would be. I don't know. I feel like I have special ones from each of his albums. But there is an unpopular opinion that I have. I really liked his new album. I feel like he's so happy, unapologetically happy, too. He's doing what he loves. He has a daughter now. He's just vibing. And then everyone's like, oh, you're not sad anymore. You're not producing all this angry music. We want the angry music. If he's happy, let him be. That's my perspective on that. It makes me so happy when people still like Post Malone, even though his music's kind of adapted through time. So, you know, that's always fun. Thank you so much for that. Let's see here. Kylie. Okay, Kylie says, I don't know who this is, actually. David Kushner? Did I say that right, you guys? NF and 21 Pilots. I've never heard of the first one. NF, I really liked for a long, long time. I've grown out of it. But for the longest time, he was my top two or three spot. It just varies from year to year. This year and maybe last year, he wasn't there. I don't really remember. I'd have to go back and check. But 21 Pilots, when you think of your middle school phase, that was my middle school phase. Panic at the Disco, Melanie Martinez. Halsey was my big time one. It was Halsey and 21 Pilots for me. Those were my big go-tos. I don't know, Melanie Martinez was kind of not the vibe. I thought it was kind of weird, to be honest. I was a little bit too much for my comfort level. But she did have some really good songs. I liked her songs. But 21 Pilots, I was actually re-listening to some the other day. I forgot even what the name of the album is. But it's the one with the nine dots. I really, really like that album. That's still probably one of my favorite albums of all time. It's just so good, so good. Let's see here. And then last one, we have Xander. Xander says, Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, and Conan Gray. Okay, so Taylor Swift, I mentioned earlier. Olivia Rodrigo, I feel like, I don't know, I'm at this stage in my life, I can't really relate to her music as much. Or, you know, it's like, I'm happy, I'm in a relationship. Like, it's like a lot of, you know, breakup songs or just, you know, like just venting. You know, I'm happy where I am. I just kind of don't relate to it. But she's still a talented musician. And then Conan Gray, there was like one song I think he made way, way back in the day. I'd have to fact check it. But it was such a nice song. When I say nice, I'm talking about middle school Macy enjoyment, that's what I mean by that. Conan Gray, I'm pretty sure. It was like a long, long time ago. He was like a, is it him? Oh, I don't see it on here. Maybe it wasn't him. Oh, well, we have a mystery artist on our hands. All right, guys, I'm not done with the show. I still have more coming up for you in just a little bit. But until then, we have one more song for you before I close. It's called Perfectly Loved. But thank you guys for the submissions. And stay tuned, and Sean's up. You're back listening to WCC Radio, Coastal Carolina University's student-run radio station. You're back with Macy on the Antisocial Butterfly. You know, it's good to have these types of shows. You know, the ones that kickstart and, you know, not always perfectly well organized. You know, it's just a way we can talk and, you know, just have kind of like a ground base, you know, so I'm really excited. I'm gonna be bringing on some really, really fun and special people, a lot of which are probably gonna be graduating. So this will be a really, really good time to put a bow on the whole show, you know. Maybe if you had anybody that you really, really liked from previous shows, DM me. Let me know, because chances are, I wanna bring them back, too. And so that's gonna be really, really fun to do. But another crazy thing, before I, you know, wrap everything up, so to say. Something crazy happened to me today. Nothing like really, like life-altering crazy, but just something that really stuck with me. So there's like this person, right, and I didn't like think of this person, I've never thought of, like, I mean, I occasionally think of this person. It was like a girl I went, like, a girl I knew back in the day, right? So I just like randomly started thinking about her today. And, you know, I've ran across, like, friends and stuff of hers, and she's like not on campus. You know, she's kind of doing her own thing and all that. But it was like a crazy thing, because I actually saw her on campus today. So why am I saying that to you guys? The reason I'm saying that is because you never know what opportunities are gonna be coming your way. Sometimes you think about something, and you're like, oh, well, I haven't thought about this for a long time, or maybe I shouldn't, like, you know, think about it or act on it. You know, it's just all a spur of the moment. But sometimes opportunities just come your way. You know, or just people come your way that you're like, oh, I had no idea. Like, you're still doing good. Because for me, it was like a forbidden, not really a forbidden concept. That's not quite the term I'm looking for. But kind of, like, surprising, because it's like, oh, this person never comes on campus, like, ever. And I just, like, walk past this person as I'm going to the show. I'm just like, whoa, like, that's crazy. I think of something, and then it just, like, magically happens, like, not really magically, but you know what I mean. So, my point of saying all that is, I feel like this is gonna be a great start to the semester. Remember to keep in touch with people, you know, have friends, have a good friend circle. And, yeah, that's really all I have to say. But with that being said, I still have some closing songs. I kind of finished the show a little early, so I hope it's okay. I don't think anybody's gonna complain with listening to music. But let's see here. I don't know when it's gonna cut off. I don't think it's necessarily off of the rotations, but right now I have some Avenged Sevenfold Nobody. Apparently it's, like, easy metal, light metal, I think's the term, but I like it. So, we're listening to Avenged Sevenfold, and right after that, it's Post Malone. No guilt trip. No guilt. I'm just, I'm happy. I love these artists. Okay, bye!
