In this episode of Sports Uncaged, the hosts discuss their initial thoughts on the March Madness tournament. They talk about the competitiveness of the tournament compared to the NBA playoffs and the excitement of potential upsets. They also share their surprising games and upsets, including the James Madison-Wisconsin and Grand Canyon-St. Mary's matchups. The hosts discuss their initial favorite teams and how their opinions may have changed. They also mention the most exciting moments of the tournament so far, such as the Creighton-Oregon game and the performance of Oakland's Jack Kocie. The hosts then discuss the upcoming Sweet 16 matchups, including UConn-San Diego State and Houston-Duke. They share their predictions and discuss the strengths of each team. Welcome back to Sports Uncaged here at WCCU Radio Coast Carolina Student Run Radio Station. I'm your host, Sean Murphy, in the studio with Stone and A.J. And with the first two rounds of March Madness behind us, we're going to talk about our initial thoughts and a lot of action going on in March Madness. So the first thing I want to ask you guys here in this little segment we have is your initial thoughts on the tournament. Obviously, we were just talking previously about how we don't see as many higher seeds in the tournament this year, but you're still down in the Sweet 16, so I just want to kind of get your guys' initial thoughts on what you think is going on right now. Stone? I still love the tournament. I get everyone's always hoping for the big upsets, and we've had a few so far, but I still think March Madness is like the superior playoff sort of just atmosphere in the college or even pro sports. I think it is the superior tournament and superior to anything else like itself. A.J.? Yeah, I really enjoy the tournament because it's a different competitiveness from the NBA. You don't see it too often in the NBA. With playoffs, you kind of see it, but it's a four, usually seven-game series, so it's not the same. The environment's just great, just everything about it, and just the fact that there can be an upset. A 16 seed can come in and wipe out a one seed is insane to me. I like that same concept you said, competitiveness. You have competitiveness between all these top teams, all the Power 5 teams that are trying to prove who's the best, but then you have all the mid-major teams and the teams from lower conferences that bring a whole new competitive aspect to it of a lesser-known team trying to beat a popular team. So I want to ask you guys now, what was the most surprising game to you guys? What were you least expecting to see, whether it was in the first round, second round? AJ? My biggest upset, honestly, I wasn't sure about James Madison. I thought Wisconsin was going to go and destroy James Madison because they have a really weak conference. I know we're in that conference, but that conference is just not much competition at all, so I thought Wisconsin was going to come in there and just show them, yeah, we're bigger, we're better, we play in better games. Stone? I had the James Madison pick, and I was really happy to see Wisconsin go out. Obviously, Wisconsin and Duke are really tough back-to-back matchups for James Madison, and Duke really just overpowered them. But I think my biggest upset pick, I didn't pick it, but I think the biggest upset was Grand Canyon over St. Mary's. I think that was, because a lot of people had St. Mary's even taken over UNC in the Sweet 16, so I think that was one of the biggest picks, and obviously Alabama beat Grand Canyon in that next round of 32, but I think that was the biggest pick, biggest upset I saw during the week. I mean, the Kentucky pick, that was a big upset, but we've seen back-to-back, and even the last three years, Kentucky has not been able to make it in a deep run, so I wasn't too over, didn't see that much, but I think St. Mary's in the Grand Canyon was the biggest upset. All right, we'll be right back after this short break. Thank you for listening to Sports Uncaged. Welcome back to Sports Uncaged here on WCC radio. We're going to continue our talk about March Madness here, and then the next question I want to ask you guys is, who was your initial favorite, and if that has changed, if somebody was eliminated, or how any of your thoughts have changed now that we're in the Sweet 16? A.J.? My initial favorite going into this was kind of Creighton. I really like Creighton's basketball program. I thought they've always been a good basketball program, especially as of recent, and I think they look good, and they have a chance to beat teams like Purdue, and were they facing Tennessee? Possibly Tennessee, or yeah, Tennessee. I think they could make it at least to the Final Four. I'm going to say UNC. That's just who my original pick with my first bracket was, but they played UConn earlier in the season, and UConn was just too much for them with their size and their shooting, and I really don't think anyone is as good of a team as UConn is. I think it's going to take UConn to have a really bad shooting night to beat them, and we've seen that they don't do that very often. They don't lose very often. They don't shoot really bad very often, so I think UConn is definitely the favorite to win this tournament, but I'd like to see, obviously, UNC win. Yeah. Like we were just talking about, my favorite was, I was saying this for a while, was Houston. I just think it's their year. I think they're due. A lot of the analytics and the numbers are pointing to them to win this year. They've got a super, super old team. Jamal Shedd, a lot of their guys that have been around there for a while and fall short, a lot of them are still on the team and are looking to win one, so who would you say is your favorite right now, AJ, to win it all? Zaga Bulldogs, baby. All right. Next question. And then this kind of goes along with that. Who do you want to, so you want Zaga to win? I want Zaga to win. You want UNC to win? I probably want Duke to win at this point. Realistically, my favorite is probably around UConn. Who you think is going to win? Okay. I don't think it could be anybody but UConn as of right now. Yeah. There was some clips going viral of them in their last game, like playing their starters and not letting up when the score was going. They were up by, like, 40, and everybody was just saying, that's a team that you don't want to face, and that's a team that's going to be able to win it all. And one question I wanted to ask was, what was the most exciting moment that you've seen watching this year's tournament? Stone? I think that Crayton and Oregon game was just outstanding. Obviously, we've had a few games go into overtime, but I think that Crayton-Oregon game was just outstanding. I mean, Oregon's, I'm going to be honest, I'm not sure what the names are, but two of their players had, like, 42 of the 60-some points. And, I mean, they were just able to will their way into overtime. And, you know, it was a great game. I loved watching it. And, obviously, I have Crayton in a few of my brackets going to the final four and one to the championship. So I was happy to see Crayton win. But Oregon and Crayton, that had to be the best game of the tournament so far. Yeah. AJ, what would you say is your most exciting? I really like, and this is kind of, like, this is everywhere, that Oakland game was really fun to watch. Yeah. Uh-huh. Jack – Koki. Koki lighting it up from deep, not taking a single mid-range throughout the, like, whole game. It's nuts. Like, I feel like I was watching J.J. Redick in his prime out there. And those are the moments that the tournament's all about. We see these guys that everybody, obviously, on social media talks about. It's going to be an accountant in five years. And they come and drop 30 on a team like Kentucky, who many people probably were really high on. I would have really liked to see them beat NC State, though, and make it to the Sweet 16 just to kind of continue that. You got to like D.J. Burns, too, that man. Yeah, I know. He's nice. He's really good. The team Elijah won and Zach Randolph put together right there. So now I kind of want to go through some of these Sweet 16 matchups and kind of talk these out and see who we have winning in these. So the first one up in the east is UConn-San Diego State. I feel like that has been kind of consensus between us. What is this, a championship rematch from last year? This is the one where I don't see an upset happening. Like, out of all the games that we have, I don't think there's a single chance San Diego State beats UConn. A.J., I feel like that's been kind of consensus. Agreed. I mean, honestly, I haven't seen UConn face too much pressure yet. They faced a 16 seed, a 9 seed. So them going against a 5 seed is going to be a little bit different, but I think they still pull it out. It's UConn. Yeah. One of the best games of the tournament I think we're going to see is in that east region, too, with like 3 seed Illinois and 2 seed Iowa State. I really don't know where to go with that game. They're not two teams that I've watched a lot throughout the season, but I know Iowa State's very – obviously, Illinois is very good, but I think I have Iowa State advancing to play UConn in that one. I like Illinois in that one. Weirdly, I know Iowa State's got some dogs. Yeah. And I know this is a woman's, but Taylor Clark's going to put that pressure on us somehow. I'm going to say Iowa State. I'm going to say they're going to outlast Illinois, but I think it's going to be an Iowa State-UConn 1-2. Yeah. Match up in that Elite 8. Going across then a game that I was kind of talking about a little bit, Houston and Duke 1-4. Like I mentioned, I think this is Houston's year to win it all, but I kind of want to just – the fan in me wants to say Duke with how those teams have been playing. But I think I will stick with Houston. I think they've just been playing great basketball, and their defense is going to be too much for Duke. I'm glad somebody else is going to say it. Honestly, Jared McCain is on a hot streak, and if he can keep that going, nobody's going to be able to guard him. I mean, he tied the points record with Zion Williams. With Duke freshman or with Duke, yeah. And that's kind of an insane record to break for Duke because of their level of players. And with those other guards they have, like I could talk about Duke for hours, but having Tyrese Proctor and Roach and then obviously Filipowski playing there, which I don't like. I don't like how Filipowski is kind of forced to play their center position against some bigger teams like we've already kind of seen. That can prove to be a struggle. But, Stone, where do you see that game going? I think Houston is going to blow them out. And that's not just a biased pick, but I think every time Duke has played very well, they really have not been able – the next game, these games, they have not been able to play well. We saw Jeremy McCain absolutely drain. I think it was six or seven threes in that first half against JMU, and he almost had more points than JMU, the entire team, in the first half. So I think Houston's guards are going to take out Duke's guards and make Jeremy Roach work real hard for whatever he's going to get because he's real small and he's not going to be able to do much against those veterans. And if you take Filipowski out after those two, that Duke team has, I don't think, anything else to even remotely compete with Houston. Yeah, I think this definitely will be a shock for Duke. Obviously we know Houston plays that super defensive type of style of game, so I feel like that is definitely going to be a challenge for them. And then also in that region is Marquette, NC State. I'm pretty confident Marquette's going to come out of this. It was a good run for DJ Burns, but I'm pretty confident. Marquette's a good team. They've always been a good team. Obviously where this tournament is, it's all about momentum. NC State going 5-0 in their conference tournament and making this on a hot streak. Honestly, with the way there's been news around Marquette and Tyler Kolick not being fully healthy, which is arguably their best player, if not the second best. So I really could see NC State picking up a win here just with the momentum they have. And obviously they're playing a lot better than an 11 seed right now. So, Stone, how do you see this game? I mean, NC State's been on an absolute tear. Absolute tear, you said. I mean, going through that ACC tournament, the amount of teams they beat. I mean, just the final two games, beat Duke and UNC. Beating those two teams is just incredible. And then taking out Texas Tech, who's been a really great team for the Big 12 this whole season. And then taking out Oakland, which is not that much of an upset. Another Cinderella, another momentum team. And Marquette's had some pretty close games. They pulled away from Western Kentucky late. But it was a four-point game against Colorado. And I could see an upset. I just think Marquette's too good of a team to go down to NC State. And Shaka Smart, their coach, is a great coach. He's definitely going to want to have this game over some of their other ones. And then down here in the west is UNC over Alabama. And I actually have a – actually, I'm not going to bring that up now. AJ, where do you see this game going? Well, we have – okay. I mean, I'm just saying it's going to be a really offensive game. Obviously, the defense in this game is not very good. UNC does not play much defense. Seth Trimble played great defense last game against Michigan State with a few blocks. But other than that, the defense has not been that great. So I'm going to say it's a really high-scoring game, but I feel like North Carolina takes it, obviously. That's kind of the idea I was going for too. Like, if there's one team in specific besides maybe UConn in this tournament that could beat UNC, I feel like Alabama's offense could be, like, a shock to kind of do that. Like, just a super offensive game, 90s, even 100. I'll say, I wouldn't be surprised if Alabama beats them, but I'm hoping UNC. AJ, what are your thoughts on this game? Yeah, I definitely agree with that. I mean, I like UNC. They've been a good team. They played good throughout the whole year. And going into this bracket, they haven't had a lot of competition yet. I mean, Michigan State, Wagner, not a lot of basketball teams you normally think of, you know, when you're thinking of colleges. But I think they destroyed it all. All right. We'll be back after this short break. Thank you for listening to Sports Uncaged. Welcome back to Sports Uncaged here on WCCU Radio. Just left you talking about some March madness here, and we're going to continue our Sweet 16 selections down here in the west region with Clemson, Arizona, and Stone. I know you were saying you like Clemson a little bit, which I was kind of shocked to see them get their win over Baylor. But how do you see them performing against Arizona in this game? I think Arizona takes it. Arizona started out really slow in their first game against Long Beach, I think. Yeah. I just think Arizona, I think it's going to be a Caleb Love reunion with UNC in that Elite 8 matchup. But I think Arizona is just too good to lose to Clemson. Obviously, they've had some close games, but I think Arizona pulls that one out with their guard play. With the way that this region was kind of laid out, I thought Dayton or Nevada was going to, that being a tough game in that first round, but I thought one of those teams were going to keep it up because they've been great teams all season, just not in power conferences. I thought one of them were going to beat Arizona in that second round. But, yeah, I also have them winning over Clemson. AJ, how about you? Yeah, I got Arizona in this one. I really like their offense and their play calling, their coaches. They're just a great team. I mean, their play around their big man a lot. The way they move off ball, it's great, man. I think they really destroy Clemson. I'm not going to lie. All right. Over now to Purdue versus Gonzaga. I don't know if you want to say some more about the Bulldogs or not. I like Bulldogs all the way. I also think with this game and with Purdue in general, I feel like I've said this about Houston too, but if they were going to win it, I feel like this would be their year to do so. They have these guys that have been there for years, same with Houston. Obviously, they want to get revenge for last year. How do you see this game going, Stone? I got Gonzaga. But then again, we saw Virginia lose to that one seed, and no one picked them the next year to win it, and they win it. I kind of could see Purdue doing that this year, but I think Gonzaga matches up really well against Purdue. Obviously, we saw Kansas get absolutely blown out in the second half by Gonzaga, which they honestly shouldn't have even been there. I think Sanford should have been playing Gonzaga, and Gonzaga would have beat them anyway. I think Gonzaga beats Purdue just to match up. It's good for Gonzaga. Yeah, AJ, you just like the Bulldogs up there. I already know the victory. I can see the future. I've got Gonzaga taking it all the way, buddy. All right, Creighton, Tennessee. I really like Tennessee this year. I think in one of my better brackets, I had them going a good portion of the way, but this is such a tough game too, just like Illinois-Iowa State, that two versus three, just two super tough teams. But I think I have Tennessee pulling this one out to then play Purdue. I think this is one of the more tougher games and is going to be one of the more competitive games in this Sweet 16. I've really got Creighton, and I don't know. Yeah, it really can go either way, this game, I feel. I don't know how good their defense is this year. I haven't really been keeping up. But as of years that I've watched, their defense has always been really good, and I think they can be able to stop Tennessee. I actually had Tennessee losing to Texas, and in my opinion, Texas should have beat them. I mean, Tennessee shot like three for 20-something from three points. And Texas, honestly, I mean, losing by four to a team that's shooting like 18% from three or something like that, that was ridiculous. But I think Tennessee plays better, but I still think Creighton has what it takes to beat Tennessee to get to that Elite 8 matchup. So then I kind of want to go back to something you kind of mentioned, Stone. I don't know if you saw this, A.J., about Samford and Kansas, what happened late in that game. A.J., did you see when late in the game a guy from Kansas, he was going up for a layup or a dunk, and a guy from Samford chased him down. I did see that, yeah. Chased him down. You can clearly see he hits the ball from behind a very impressive block, but they called it a foul. Many people feel that that kind of swayed the game, yeah. That was a really bad foul call. I mean, even when you're going up, your hands are considered to be part of the ball at that point. Even if you hit his hand while he was on the ball. That's not a foul. Stone, I kind of want to ask you this again. Do you feel like Gonzaga still would have beat Samford had they advanced? I think Kansas is a good team, but that Samford-Kansas game was the most picked upset of the entire first round because we know Kansas' McCullers was out for the injury and he's out for the whole tournament. So that was definitely one of the biggest upset picks the entire first round. But, I mean, the referee was standing right there. He had a perfect view of it, and it's just – it really took them away. Now I get they would still be down one point. And the Kansas dude didn't even need to be going up. No, yeah, he could have dribbled it out. You've got to have confidence in one of your players being able to make a shot, lay up, or at least draw a foul call to try to tie the game or go win the game. But I still think Gonzaga beats either team. Yeah, I kind of agree with that. I just think, like, as a basketball player, it just does suck seeing a foul like that sort of influence a game like people think it did. But it does happen, and I do think that Gonzaga might have beat Samford. I think it should have been reviewable, honestly. Yeah. I like the NBA, how they have a challenge. They have a challenge, yeah. And I would like the NBA to expand it so you win the challenge, you get another challenge. But I feel like everything in college is pretty much reviewable in the last four minutes. Like you can review pretty much anything. But I feel like that just takes away from the game of you not being able to review that. Yeah, I agree. So what's something else? What's another big storyline happening? I just had something in my head. We were talking about Jack Gokey and Oakland, and a lot of things have been kind of going on Instagram. I've seen of him possibly there's a question of, do you guys think he has an NBA career, could have an NBA career? Stone? One-round talent, maybe undrafted rotational player for the Miami Heat. Yeah, and that's what people are saying in it. It comes at such like a big time when obviously three-point shooting, that's such a high rate now, and it's what basketball has almost become, especially in the NBA. Another point that people make, obviously it's just a reference point, but Duncan Robinson of the Heat getting a – one thing that somebody said sort of as a joke, it makes sense if Duncan Robinson can get a $90 million contract, why couldn't Gokey even get a 10-day contract? My thing is with three-point shooting, it's becoming like 3-D guards, but 3-D is kind of being phased out the league. It's becoming a lot more handles, a lot more ISO ball, not really kicking it out, taking your shots and drawing the foul. That's kind of what we're going in towards the NBA. You don't see a lot of those players like J.J. Reddick or like Jack Gokey or like Duncan Robinson. They're losing minutes to these players that can actually – That can create. Yeah. Yeah, because now everybody in the NBA can shoot threes, but it depends on – yeah, like you said, the 3-D guy is a huge part of basketball because he can shoot a three, but then you don't have to worry about sort of a defensive liability there. My problem with him is why have we not heard his name yet? Obviously, they haven't been on this big stage in ages, but it took one game to hear his name. Yeah. We hadn't ever heard of him before, and that's my biggest thing. It's not very consistent. Obviously, we saw that Kentucky game, he hit 10 or 11 threes, which was absolutely insane. Just taking out Kentucky is insane, but I just don't see him being able to stay consistent and getting those NIL deals. Yeah, great. Go get them. That's great for him, honestly. I just don't see it going into the NBA. I feel like it just won't work out. And I feel like there always is a few of those storylines in the NBA tournament because it does reveal all these players, all these mid-major guys that don't get the publicity that they normally do on these big stages. But I do sort of think there is a chance that some NBA team could be looking to take a chance. I'm not even using a draft pick, but just a signing, like maybe even anything like that. Summer league. In my opinion, this draft class is very weak. I don't like it at all. A lot of the Kentucky players are going to go first round, even though they were bound. Duke players like Jared McCain, he's starting to become a lottery pick in my eyes. I think he always has been. I think he'll stay another year. I agree. I think him and Proctor both will. I don't know about Filipowski, but I think Roach has to. I think this is Roach's last year, but I hope that they do, and I think Proctor and McCain will both stay at Duke. I get that. But I did see in one of the recent mock drafts that they had him go in like 14, or they had him ranked like 14 on a big board. I think he should be top five. He's really good. He doesn't create enough, in my opinion. Yeah, I could see that. I really could. What do you think of Bronny James? Oh, God. He's got me started. I can't stand it. He's averaging six points for a USC team that has 14 wins on the damn season, and you're projecting him to go in the first round? Are you kidding me? I feel like that's the kind of effect that LeBron has at that point. Do you think a team will draft him in chances that they could get LeBron James? No, I think it's BS. AJ? Yes. All right, we'll be right back after this short break. Thank you for listening to Sports Uncaged. Welcome back to Sports Uncaged here on WCCU radio. We're going to switch over from the March Madness talk and get into some NFL draft conversations. We've seen a lot shake up recently with some top quarterbacks. So I'm going to get kind of your guys' initial thoughts. We just kind of rambled about it, about J.J. McCarthy jumping up and all the hype around him possibly going top three, whether that be to the Commanders at two or the Patriots at one or even the Cardinals or even anybody. So I just want to kind of get your guys' initial thoughts on this J.J. McCarthy talk. Stone? This is kind of the same opinion I have as Bronny going in the first round. I think it's ridiculous. I mean, the man handed the ball off the amount of time. He was ridiculous in that championship game, and it's just I don't get it, honestly. He's handed the ball off. He's projected to go number two now in some drafts to Washington, and Washington's a poverty franchise. You're going to be even more poverty if you're taking J.J. McCarthy at two or three overall. I just think it's a ridiculous pick when you have three other better quarterbacks, even four with Michael Penick. Yeah, Odex. Yeah, I mean, there's so many great options, and I just don't see J.J. McCarthy being that great. Sure, he's a versatile running quarterback, but have we really seen him throw against really great teams? Yeah. Having Blake Corum and Brian Edwards in the backfield just shredding him apart? Like, no, it's just I think it's a ridiculous pick at two or three. Especially for the Patriots. Like I get their sense like Tom Brady left that kind of with Mac Jones. Like they were a big running team just because they didn't have that kind of trust in Mac Jones and frankly just wasn't really that good. But I just don't see how this mock draft can see J.J. McCarthy then taking a chance on him and expecting a different outcome. Like obviously he was on the biggest stage and he could perform on the biggest stage, but like when you have guys like a line like he had and Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards and the weapons that he had, like it's kind of tough to have him just kind of randomly jump up like this. A.J.? Agreed. I don't see how anything changes if the Patriots were to take him. I mean, it's the same team. You're getting the same player. If you don't make moves around him, it's not really going to change no matter who you really put in that position. And then you've got teams like the Commanders that want to draft him. I mean, they're going to stay a poverty franchise for the rest of their life. You just traded away Sam Howe, and I think Sam Howe is better than J.J. McCarthy. Now, don't get me wrong. I could be totally off about this. I don't see Bailey Zappi and J.J. McCarthy that different. You know, they both can run somewhat, and they both don't have a great arm, and it's just I don't see what the difference is taking him over Jaden Daniels. Jaden Daniels has a great arm. We've seen him absolutely sling it, and he can just run. He takes some massive hits, but he can run the ball, and it's just Drake May can too, and I just don't see J.J. McCarthy amounting to anything like that. I don't understand why J.J. is even being projected to go first or second round, in my opinion. I think quarterbacks like Michael Penix, even Joe Milton, at times look better than J.J. McCarthy. I mean, no disrespect to the man. You see some highlight plays of him throwing some good balls, but it's not much different than these other quarterbacks that are in the draft. One thing I feel, obviously he was already projected top 15, top 10 when these mock drafts started coming out. I feel like one reason that he's kind of getting higher looks in these drafts is being a safer pick than a lot of these guys. We're talking about, you guys are saying poverty franchise and this and that, so that kind of wouldn't make sense for a team like the command. Obviously we think the Bears are taking Caleb Williams. That's kind of set in stone. It'd be almost stupid for the commanders of the Patriots to not take a chance on a potentially generational guy like Jaden Daniels and go the safe route with the past couple seasons that the Patriots have had. I just don't see a world where they should or do go the safe route and take a guy like J.J. McCarthy if maybe a guy like Drake May or even Jaden Daniels is still on the board at that pick. Honestly, looking at this draft class, it kind of reminds me a lot of Trevor Lawrence's draft class. It's scary. These guys are hit or miss in my opinion. I can see the best two QBs coming out of this would be Caleb Williams and, in my opinion, I think Michael Pennix. Yeah, I've always been high on Michael Pennix. I think it's the three quarterbacks first, and then I think Marvin Harrison goes to Arizona because Arizona is just depleted on offense. They have McBride and they've traded away Rondell Moore and they lost Marquis Brown to the Chiefs, so I think they need to go Marvin Harrison unless they trade down and get a ton of other picks. I think they should trade down, realistically. Obviously, I don't know if teams think this, but obviously Marvin Harrison doesn't want to go to the cardinals. He knows what he's stepping into, but I feel like there's not much to change that. Stone, do you think that J.J. McCarthy is going to be one of those three quarterbacks going in the first three, like you said, or do you think Drake May will? I mean, he definitely shouldn't be, but with the picks now, I could see Jaden Daniels going to Washington. I think he would fit well in that offense with Cliff Kingsbury, but I feel like the Patriots should either go Jaden Daniels or Drake May, whichever two is available, but you never know with J.J. McCarthy now just soaring up these draft spots. I don't know. But, like, with Drake May, are you getting anything different than Mack Jones as well? Yeah. That's the same thing there. I don't even think they should go. I really don't like this quarterback draft, in my opinion. I think they should go offensive talent. Because there's a lot of questions besides, and there's even questions with Kayla Williams, but there's just, obviously with rookies, there's going to be questions everywhere, but yeah, definitely. I think they could get a safer quarterback like Milton or Penix in the late round and get offensive talent like a receiver that they haven't had. Or even Bo Nix, too. Yeah. So do you guys, this draft I'm looking at has Joe Ault then go to the Chargers after Marvin Harrison. Do you guys agree with that pick? Do you like that for the Chargers? I really like that. I think it's a safe pick. I don't think they need offensive talent. I think Quentin Johnson will be just fine next year. He had a bad first year. Rookies do that. That happens. They get nervous. John Harbaugh or Jim Harbaugh, wait, Jim Harbaugh is a great head coach. I think they need offensive line, though. Originally when Brock Bowers was a little higher in this one, he's 10, a little higher in these. I kind of like the Chargers taking him, still having Herbert. They got rid of Gerald Everett and obviously Keenan Allen. Getting a guy like that I thought would be good. And Mike Williams. Yeah, and Mike Williams. Bringing in a guy like that I thought would be a good pick. But yeah, Joe Ault, putting him on the other side from Rashawn Slater. There's not going to be much getting to Justin Herbert then. And then this draft has Malik Nabors going 6th to the Giants. Great receiver. I like that pick. It's good. It's not awful. Aren't they sticking with Danny Dimes? Yep, that's the first sentence here. If the Giants remain committed to Daniel Jones, they must add more explosive playmakers. Yeah, but don't they already got... They don't have wide receivers. They got the one receiver they just drafted last year. Wendell Robinson. Jalen Hyatt. Do they still have Slaten? Yeah, I think so. But I think their biggest problem is going to be corners this year. Or safety. They lost Shaquille Griffin. They lost McKinney. They lost McKinney. They still have Banks. They got Brian Burns, which is good. But they lost a lot of defensive depth. A lot of holes on defense. I think their offense will be fine. I like Singletary. I know it's a huge downgrade. An Eagles fan would say that. An Eagles fan would say that. I don't know, though. He really produced well with the Texans. So, I mean, don't get me wrong. Compared to him, I'm not even saying that it's even proportionate. But I like Singletary as a back. Yeah, I do too. He's not great, don't get me wrong. But he is usable. I don't know. I think he was more usable in the D'Amico-Ryans offense than a Brian-Dave offense. The next pick here is, I can't say his first name, but Foshanu. The tackle for the Penn State. Going to the Titans. I like that. They need to protect Levis. I kind of like that pick there. I think the Titans are going to be good. Yeah, I mean, we said a few weeks ago that we think they were having one of the worst free agencies. But they've really honestly put it together. They have Legere's Sneed they just traded for, and they seem like they gave up nothing to the Chiefs. Weirdly put it together. Like, Tony Pollard, DeHop, Ridley. Yeah, getting Ridley too. I mean, they spent a ton, but they put together a pretty nice roster. It really comes down to them believing in Will Levis. That he can get the guys the ball and the defense will back him up. I think they just need a game manager like Brock Purdy. Someone that's going to just be able to throw the ball and give DeHop and Calvin those balls. And hope that those guys will be able to do their thing. That's the thing. We saw a few games last year where Levis was able to put some really nice games together. Now he was a rookie and he had a few really bad performances too. But we saw that one game he had three touchdowns on like six throws to DeAndre Hopkins in the first half. And that was just insane. I think they'll be pretty good this year. This draft then has Dallas Turner from Alabama going to the Falcons. I feel like that pick's been kind of set in stone for a while. And then the Bears taking Roma Dunsey at nine. Pairing him up with Caleb Receiver. Washington pairing him up with Caleb Williams. I don't know if they need Receiver. I agree. I think it's a little overkill. I mean, you got Jalen Johnson, but that quarterback. Well, we'll talk about it after this short break. Thank you for listening to Sports Uncaged. Welcome back to Sports Uncaged here on WCCU Radio. We've got a couple more minutes. We're just going to finish up our NFL draft talk starting back with kind of where we left off around eight or nine here. We were saying nine. Roma Dunsey going to the – who do you guys like the Bears taking with this number two pick? We kind of were talking about this. Do you guys like them to go a more defensive route? Stone, who would you like to see them take here with this nine? If it's not who this guy says, Roma Dunsey, who would you like to see them take here? I'm going to be honest. I have no clue. I'm going to be flat out. I have no clue because that offense is pretty good. They added Keenan Allen. They're going to add Caleb Williams in this draft. And it's just I really have no clue what this front office is going to do because the offense is solid. I'd say go to a cornerback, but you said we have a few quarterbacks that are not up to par to go nine overall. They could even trade out of that to get later in the draft even just to get more draft capital this time, just to get more young players. I'm going to be honest. I have no clue where they're going to go with it. Well, I think realistically they will draft here, but they should trade back, get a bunch of capital, build up for young. Because I think in two to three years they're going to be a good team. But also here they could get somebody like a tackle. Maybe their O-line has been weak for a couple years. I don't know how many people they got in free agency. I forget. But I know their O-line was lacking last year. And as soon as Montez Sweat came into that defense, they looked pretty good. Yeah. I don't know. I kind of like the Roma-Dunsey pick here. Kind of the idea of having him as a number three on that team after Darnell Mooney went to Atlanta. And they brought in an older Keenan Allen. I feel like having him be able to learn behind a younger D.J. Moore and an older Keenan Allen, have him be able to grow with Caleb Williams. I feel like that idea of that pick kind of is there. But I could see them going multiple ways with it like we kind of mentioned. And then number ten we'll talk about. I really like Brock Bowers. I think if Brock Bowers is there at ten for the Jets, that would be a great pick for them. How do you guys see the Jets go with that? I mean that's just another weapon in Aaron Rodgers arsenal. Yeah, exactly. That's the reason I love it. I feel like Aaron Rodgers has always done great with his tight ends and the Jets being kind of in that win-now mode with Aaron Rodgers. Yeah, as of recent I don't think Aaron Rodgers has been too connected with his tight ends. But in his early years you saw him with Mercedes Lewis. Mercedes Lewis and another guy they had that was really good. I forget his name. But he's a pretty good tight end all the time. So I think it will be a good pick for them. Yeah, if he's there I think. If Aaron Rodgers is there too because we're not sure if he's going vice president for Clinton or whoever it is. That alternate option, but you never know. We have 30 seconds left here. One question I want to ask. Is there any doubt in your guys' mind that the Bears are going to take Caleb Williams? Any doubt at all? No doubt. I think he could put a million dollars, a million dollar bet on it even if it wins you one cent. I think he'd take it, yeah. Do you feel the same way? It's automatic. Trading Justin Fields was the easiest look into the future I've ever seen. All right, you hear it here first. Put a million dollars on Caleb Williams' first pick. Thank you for listening to Sports Uncaged.
