I'm the host Davis Myers. My co-host and buddy Shane McGee will not be here today. He has not filmed too well so I will just be going here today welcoming you guys to the first show. It was a very beautiful Tuesday day. I hope you're having a great day a great Tuesday and Easter is right around the corner. I'll be going home for Easter so I'm especially excited to be going home for the Easter weekend. So again I'll be talking about like the March Madness games that's coming up on Thursday and Friday and the Sweet 16 is finally here so what could happen? You have four games on Thursday and four games on Friday so don't go anywhere as I talk to you about these games. So first I'm just going to give a shout out to Shane. Shane cannot make it today. Shane's not feeling the best but he'll be with me on my own college football countdown on Friday and again this is sports engaged on WCCU SN. It's a great again it's always great being here as I could talk to you guys and have a fun hour of just me being me and Shane being Shane but again Shane cannot make it today but thank you all for tuning in. Let's kind of begin on what has happened before March Madness. Now we have several upsets and several expectancies on having North Carolina and Duke both in the Sweet 16. Seeing Kentucky fall to Oakland. Yes it's surprising but it's also something that Kentucky has done in the past so it's not like it's like the first time where it's happened. It's happened a few years ago and I believe they missed a tournament either last year or 2022 or 21. I forgot but it's a shame for Kentucky fans because they have a great squad and they keep on coming short and March Madness as as you have a UConn back in it. I'm not really expect not really a surprise as expected but Purdue finally gets over the hump of the 16th seed and the 32 teams so again it's going to be a great few days for all of us basketball fans who are missing it right now but as we wrap up I will see you guys in the next segment. Shane's not feeling too well so you're just back here with me at Sports Incase on the first show on this Tuesday day. So March Madness is upon us and it's going to be a great few days for all those basketball fans who are tuning in to March Madness. So first I'll be going over Clemson versus Arizona on Thursday. Well actually I saved that one for last since I am a Clemson fan. I don't want to see any bias or anything so I'll go to UConn and San Diego State. UConn is 11.5 favorite and they're playing at 739 on TruTV. A very weird time 739 very weird but it's a good time that's not too late. I feel like UConn's going to win this game but it's going to be a close first half. This is a rematch from the national championship from last year so it's always kind of funny seeing teams in a rematch. San Diego State is 26-10 and UConn is 33-3. According to ESPN, UConn has an 86.4% chance to win to San Diego State 13.6%. So ESPN has a clear favorite in UConn winning which I think UConn is going to win. I feel like UConn has too much explosive power but I think that San Diego State has a higher point leader with a Jadon Leidy in a 21.5 points per game to UConn's guard Tristan Newton just having 15.3 points per game. So I feel like UConn, every team has scores but if San Diego State could have put the needle fast and early and keep UConn a few steps behind I feel like San Diego State could pull off this little tiny shocker. I feel like UConn is going to take this one. I'm going to have a score of UConn winning this 78-69. It's going to be kind of a close game but I feel like UConn's going to pull away at the end with free throws. Next we'll be going over North Carolina and Alabama. ACC versus SCC. This is what all of us want to see because the SCC is not doing too well right now while the ACC is 8-1. 8-1 and Marchantis play having UNC, Duke, NC State and Clemson all in the sweet 16. It should be a great slate of games but North Carolina are 4.5 favorites but according to ESPN, Alabama has a higher percentage chance of winning at 52.3 to UNC's 47.7 percent. I think North Carolina is going to win but it's going to come by like a four or five point game. I feel like R.J. Davis is going to make some magic happen but if this game is on Thursday at 9.39 on CBS, it should be a great game. I would definitely tune in to watch that game because it's going to be a high anticipated game going back and forth and I feel like Alabama could make a chip in North Carolina, could damage North Carolina moving forward. So I feel like it's about how tough North Carolina is rather than how good Alabama is and it's really going to be a great sight to see seeing two teams both battling, both teams both from the SEC and the ACC. We always like to see the type of matchups. I have North Carolina winning 76 to 71. It's going to be a very close game. I don't see a huge side. I don't see a a blowout. I hope not see a blowout. I don't want to see a close game but I think North Carolina is going to win and I have them going on to the Elite 8 in my bracket so I would love to see that happen as well. Next we have Illinois and Iowa State. Now this game is probably going to be the best game because how a very similar style of play but Illinois. I haven't really watched that much but I feel like Illinois is like a hit or miss and ESPN agrees with me because Iowa State has a 58% chance to win. I feel like well I'm trying to think because the Iowa State beat Houston look I'm trying to see according to ESPN it sorry guys I'm not really too informed the 69 to 41 and in my bracket I actually have Houston beating Iowa State in the final in a big 12 rematch so it'll be really cool to see how it kind of plays out see what happens but I feel like Iowa State is too much for Illinois. I like Iowa State going to the Elite 8 and then I'm trying to look at the bracket but I don't have ESPN well the bracket challenge open so I can't really see but I feel like I don't know I just I see something I just it's a really close battle because the ESPN has Iowa State by a 1.5 favorite and this game is at 10-09 on True TV on Thursday. I like the mention of the TV channel in case you don't know what it is I can help you out and Iowa State's last two games they beat San Diego wait sorry South Dakota State 82-65 and they beat Washington State 67-56 and I'm trying to think here if they played Wisconsin before no Illinois played Morehead State and won 85-69 and they beat Duquesne 89-63 so I think this is the first real test for both teams like Washington State was was a kind of a test for Iowa State but this game is going to be about the free throws it's the free points how many it's going to be a really low score game it's like maybe like a Tennessee-Texas game I feel like Iowa State's going to win in the end but by like three or four points I'm going to have Iowa State winning this like 65-59 actually 65 yeah yeah 65-59 six point game it's got to be like close the whole game could be like a 30-30 something half it's got to be a really low scoring first and second but it's going to be one of those games where you it could go in either direction so it's going to be one of those games and finally you have the number 60 Clemson making it to the Sweet 16 they are the NC State is the highest seed at 11 but Clemson is number six which is the highest seed on Thursday playing number two Arizona and as a Clemson fan a no bias here I feel like a Clemson does have a a small chance of what the in and out lineup they have but ESPN has Arizona and a 79.1 percent and a 7.5 favorite which I'm not mad at I completely understand Arizona is going to be playing us at 709 on Thursday on CBS I really see I love Clemson of course but um I really see all Arizona being too much for Clemson I feel like it's going to be a close first half of Arizona might pull away at the end uh Caleb Love from Arizona uh really good he's averaging 18.1 points per game while PJ Hall has 18.5 points per game for Clemson both elite athletes who could raise their jacks off raise their draft stocks if they both perform at a high level but here's okay I'm going to be a little bit biased here if Chase Hunter can have another 20 point game and if uh I'm trying to find um our freshman Jack Jackson Jack something Ian Shefflin of the Chef if he could get inside and just a man up and bully of the inside and then I feel like Clemson does have a chance as a biased fan actually hold okay so I'll have two score predictions as a Clemson fan I'm going to choose a Clemson win and an Arizona one I'll choose an Arizona one to be fair I have Arizona winning um let's say I'm trying to think a 75 to 63 if Arizona wins I feel like it'll be kind of like a 10 point swing if Clemson wins it'll be a really close game if Clemson wins it'll be like a 70 no like a 68-66 game I like the only way I see Clemson winning if it's it's close I did not see a blowout I'll be shocked if Clemson wins in a blowout but it's going to be a great set of games I just covered the first four games on Thursday and we have about 25 seconds left so it's so it's really perfect timing how I time this out you know not the best of anything but on Friday you have four more games I will get into those games in a little bit and again you're listening to cover and let's get it started so for the first game on Friday well not the first game well yes it is the first game you have NC State versus Marquette at 7 0 9 p.m on CBS and NC State is 24 and 14 the Cinderella right now they beat Virginia they beat Duke they beat North Carolina and now they are in the sweet 16 and they play Marquette which is 27 and 9 which before the March Madness even started ESPN a professional said that a Marquette is the has the highest chance to lose as a two seed and this game could prove it right here where a Marquette is a 6.5 favorite according to ESPN and they only give NC State a 23.7 percent chance which I think they should have more but that's just me but it should be a great game again it's hard to count NC State out but it's going to be about the start of the game who's going to control the first five minutes yes I know it's a full game of 30 minutes yes I understand I'm sorry 40 minutes I understand that but it's all about the first five minutes which team is going to come out swinging harder than the other team and which team is going to be playing from behind and NC State can beat can have other viewers they can come back I don't know about a Marquette I haven't seen enough for Marquette but again and again when your record shows that it's kind of hard to count you out you know so it's going to be about a game of bigs and I feel like NC State controls that so I just have to weigh the pros and the cons you have to weigh other versus versus matchups and I'm going to pick NC State to upset Marquette here I know it's really tough to but I just don't know enough about a Marquette I really think NC State is going to win you know non-biased ACC I've just it will be like any team if you're on a hot run it's hard to stop that burn and NC State is not going to wear and stop that fire they're going to keep on shooting they're going to keep on jumping inside with that big man I don't know his name he's incredible I feel like NC State is going to go to elite eight I really think so I love it NC State team they're playing with extreme chemistry and it's hard to count NC State out right now so I'm gonna say NC State 82 Marquette 77 but in overtime I feel like it's gonna go in overtime so I'm gonna have NC State winning it next I'm going to go to Gonzaga and Purdue now this one is really tough I really don't know who's going to win this game but Gonzaga and Purdue it could go either way but Purdue is a 5.5 favorite according to ESPN and only gives Gonzaga a 23.5% chance that's being that's being hostile Purdue a 26.5% chance to win again Zach Eady is that man Zach Eady I feel like I feel like Purdue is for real this year I feel like Purdue I'm sorry I feel like Gonzaga I don't you don't know enough about them of course they're a good team but you have to kind of put into consideration that Purdue has been knocked out to twice twice before this they're playing with more hatred than probably any team right now so I gotta pick Purdue here but it's gotta be you know what I might have to pick a 10 to 15 point game I hope I'm wrong I think that's what's going to happen I feel like Purdue is going to win this thing 79 to 65 I feel like Gonzaga just again I don't know they did just knock off Kansas by 20 but again I know on this Purdue team has not exactly been challenged yet Utah State was a challenge but not as a challenge but not as a challenge not excuse me I earlier I did a persuasive speech on Rocky Balboa and I ended up doing a 15 minute speech it's supposed to be a three to five minute speech but again I talked to every Rocky movie in that kind of took a little bit too long but that's okay you know things happen and I love Rocky so talk about Rocky and going back to the situation this just knocked off Kansas by 20 and I feel like Purdue is going to be tested by Gonzaga but Purdue is going to beat that test I have Purdue by I think I said 14 79 65 uh Gonzaga is a great team but I feel like Purdue is really good this year next I have Houston versus Duke number one Houston going against versus four number one Houston versus number four Duke Houston's a 4.5 favorite of Houston's 32 and 4 while Duke is 26 and 8 and ESPN only only gets Duke a 23.3 percent chance to win I feel like that's really too low for a team that's this good like Duke a caliber team that beat our Sunbelt JMU Dukes by almost 40 93 to 55 while JMU is for real Duke is double for real they're for real for real they beat JMU by 40 now now Houston they survived a narrow overtime win versus another SEC school Texas A&M so Houston has been tested they have been battled and I really just feel like man this is a tough one I was not expecting to choose Duke but something about me is leaning towards Duke yes I picked Houston to win the whole thing in my other bracket but I just feel like watching these past games I really feel like Duke's gonna take it it's I feel like the number one seed's gonna go down I picked Houston to win it all but I just wanted to see a big 12 matchup I think Houston's very good but I feel like Duke has the experience Duke has it and I feel like Duke should be going to the elite eight again I hope I'm wrong because my bracket but I'm being honest here it's not a real bracket it's just a paper bracket so it doesn't really matter I think Duke's gonna beat Houston I'm gonna say Duke's gonna win 84 to 70 um 84 74 so it's gonna be a 10 point game it's gotta be close I feel like Duke is gonna pull away at the end with Duke a Kyle Flipowski Flipowski with 16.6 points per game I think he's a difference maker getting inside and I feel like he's gonna bully Houston and he's gonna have a 25 point game again I hope I'm wrong I hope it's a closer game but I feel like that's just gonna help good I think that's just gonna yeah I feel like that's like it's gonna turn out that way I'm having a lot of brain farts on the show what's new next actually finally you have number three Creighton versus number two Tennessee uh this might be an easy one for me I think Tennessee is gonna win it I don't know enough about Creighton Tennessee is a 2.5 favorite court according to SPN they give Tennessee a 57.7 percent chance to beat Creighton in this game is the last game at 10.09 I feel like adult adult night is too much for Creighton uh dull night has 21.1 points per game and like this could just uh like it just because they're in the SEC so I kind of watch them more I don't really know enough about Creighton but it but it could go in either direction I'm gonna have Tennessee winning it uh I don't have really I have a score yet I feel like it's gonna be closer than people think I feel like it's like a 68 it's a 64 topic game I don't think it's gonna go out of reach I feel like Tennessee just knows how to win in those type of situations well those are all the games so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go to the bracket on my phone and then see are the winners a matchup of them and then what the elite eight and then let's see the final four and then finals and then I'm gonna pick the champion again one surprising thing that I just did on the show is I picked Purdue I mean sorry I picked Duke to beat Houston just because I just I've seen more from Duke I like I love Houston but I just like something about me just can't pick against Duke right now I feel like Duke is too much and Duke's gonna show it but what a great time to be a basketball fan but I've I really am missing it right now on Tuesday it's just two games I made all my picks and my predictions and now here's my all right guys here's my uh spicy idea I'm thinking of going to the bracket and uh doing them until the national championship and I'm gonna pick my national champion where I did have Houston winning it all but I I can't I just can't fathom Duke losing I don't think that's gonna happen I think Duke's gonna win so as we have UConn in San Diego State I picked UConn to win it so oh wait I didn't need to click it okay so I picked UConn and then I picked Iowa State so UConn versus Iowa State and then I picked North Carolina versus Arizona again it's hard for me to choose I just don't feel like I just don't I think Arizona is too much I hope I'm wrong though okay so I've Duke versus NC State and an ACC tournament rematch and I Purdue versus Tennessee okay next um let's think about this a UConn and an Iowa State hmm oh my gosh I don't even want to make this pick right now I had Iowa State earlier on winning but I just feel like UConn right now I feel like look it's so hard to win back-to-back in college basketball so you guys might not like me for this but I feel like Iowa State's gonna win something about Iowa State this year I really like them I love Iowa State so I'm gonna pick Iowa State to beat UConn and here's why for everybody say oh oh UConn's gonna go back-to-back UConn's gonna go back-to-back that's really really hard to do in college basketball because of the fast game of play and all the new players I think Iowa State's gonna win and go to the final four um yeah okay next we have North Carolina versus Arizona oh man Shane has Arizona winning at all I don't think they are but I'm gonna choose North Carolina I choose North Carolina um going to the final four of North Carolina wait sorry a score prediction for um for UConn and Iowa State I have Iowa State shocking UConn and winning 79 to 72 as I'm sorry 79 to 76 as as UConn was a clear favorite spot I feel like Iowa State there's just something about them I really like them this year I love I like this Iowa State team next you have a North Carolina versus Arizona I it's gonna be an overtime game I feel like North Carolina is too much for Arizona I feel like Arizona is gonna pull out to a lead but then I feel like I don't know North Carolina is gonna rally back and they're gonna win by two um North Carolina is gonna take this thing a kind of low scoring game but it's gonna be like a 69 to it's a 67 69 to 65 66 game I see a very close game just like all these games I feel like North Carolina is gonna beat Arizona again let's say um you know what the Clemson family let's say it's North Carolina versus Clemson now if Clemson won for example because Clemson already beat North Carolina at home I meant sorry a Clemson already beating North Carolina or at North Carolina on the regular season so it is doable if Clemson were to beat Arizona again which is a high shot but I want to do a what if questioning what if Clemson won and they move on to play North Carolina I think North Carolina is going to win but it'll be interesting to see that match up with how they both line up if Clemson could make a serious again a serious tear in North Carolina but again I don't feel like Clemson is going to make it unfortunately but that's just how basketball works but but uh in the end North Carolina is going to win both games and they're going to be going to final four finally my uh uh Duke versus NC State and the Elite Eight and a rematch so Duke versus wait I'm trying to find something okay so got it okay I'm trying to figure out let's see okay so Duke and NC State oh man this one's so tough oh my gosh this one's tough um I feel like Duke to get the get back I feel like Duke to get the revenge that they suffered and they're going to beat NC State um I'm gonna say it's gonna be a one-point game it's gonna be a buzzer beater it's gonna be a two-point buzzer beater I feel like Duke's gonna break NC State's heart I really loved NC State's uh Cinderella run I feel like I feel like Duke Duke's been there and I feel like Duke's gonna win so Duke is gonna beat NC State in a heartbreaker which means Duke will be in the final four I'm sorry NC State it's not personal I just feel like Duke's gonna make that final shot well final score is gonna be 81 to 80 actually no 91 to 90 it's gonna be a high scoring game next Purdue and Tennessee I'm gonna say it right now I love this Tennessee team I really love a Tennessee team I make I I have this pick going and guess what I'm gonna make it again uh Tennessee is beating Purdue I love Zach Eady but I also know that Tennessee is tough Tennessee is tough I think that Tennessee is gonna win it's gonna be I feel like Purdue's got the off game I feel like Tennessee is like it's gonna win by like 15 I I can see Tucker Knight scoring 30 I see Zach Eady scoring 25 still but I don't see the rest of the Purdue squad having over 10 points so I feel like Tennessee is going like 75 up to 59 or something I I really like this Tennessee team actually sorry like 70 to 59 not that much of a blowout but I really like this Tennessee team and I feel like Tennessee could carry this forward to the final four it's gonna be tough it's gonna be very very tough um but so in the end in the final four it will be UConn wait I'm trying to think because I'm trying to okay so it will be I think it'll be UConn versus no yeah no it'll be Iowa State versus North Carolina in the final four and then it'll be I I might be wrong guys Duke Duke versus Duke versus Tennessee because in the elite eight you have wait okay so let's say UConn Iowa State here uh North Carolina Arizona here yeah and then and then uh those teams go play those teams go play okay anyways if I'm wrong I'm wrong okay I thought um UConn no oh my gosh I'm saying Iowa State versus Duke and a Tennessee no oh my gosh Iowa State versus North Carolina and Duke versus Tennessee this is really close um oh man Iowa State and North Carolina uh I think I'm gonna have to go with North Carolina here um this Iowa State team is really good I feel like North Carolina is too much and then Duke and Tennessee just so I oh we don't have two ACC teams I think Tennessee is going anyways I feel like Tennessee I love a Tennessee team like yeah I saw Auburn won the whole SEC I feel like Tennessee is much madness ready so then a Tennessee's gonna go on to the championship again both close games I don't see any blowouts here so so for a championship I have North Carolina versus Tennessee again I might be wrong I might be in the wrong bracket but uh I'll correct myself on Friday a North Carolina versus Tennessee in the final and I think I'm gonna have North Carolina winning the whole thing I think yeah yeah I have North Carolina winning it and again we are on our second to last segment and with this one going down I'm going to wrap it up and I'll be right back guys listen to WCCUS and talked about the first and second day of the Sweet 16 and then I went on to the Elite 8 and Final Four and I have North Carolina beating Tennessee and the final again on my original bracket I actually had Houston beating Iowa State well I like to be silly and switch with sometimes just because it's it's always fun to have a new scheme a new matchup but the key takeaways from today's show is that basketball is fun we love basketball I love basketball I can't wait for Thursday and as a Clemson fan of course I'm excited I wasn't expecting this um because uh Clemson football was something that I always look forward to but it wasn't the best season first four games was not that pretty so it's always good to look something so it's always good to look for the something else like basketball and I certainly got it but just for all the fans in general March Madness is a fun a tournament uh to like participate in or watch with friends lose friends over and just have a fun time as this is the first time where I'm actually like talking about like the games just because of having a show and of just being a board of classes I've been just ready to learn something new and I really love the whole scheme of March Madness and what it brings the joy of the anticipation of the anger is all the emotions are boiled down to uh to it I can't really I got a little brain for it but again I'm Davis couldn't do it um I was feeling like absolute crap I was not having a good time but I'm back now I'm feeling better than ever feeling great I'm back it's a new week I'm going back home for Easter so I'm really just looking at the clouds right now I'm looking sky high and I'm talking about basketball what else does a man need you know well he gets to see his family and he talks about basketball that's really the best thing and I'm going to a patio tonight so it's gonna be a fun time but I'm gonna chop but I'm getting off topic here but in the end Sweet 16 is upon us then the Elite Eight and the Final Four in the championship the only bad thing about it is that they have breaks in between so you have to wait for each game which makes it more anticipated and I know all the fans in the Sweet 16 are ready for it and are making predictions putting money towards it it's gonna be a great few days and again I'm David Smiles listening to WCCUS and guys have a great rest of your day God
