Yo, what is up everybody? I know it has been a minute. It feels good to be back So with further ado, my name is Joby My name is Adam and I'm Jay. Welcome back everybody. Welcome back Good to see you Good to be back. Yeah has been a little bit but I think we're ready. I missed you guys Yeah, definitely Probably be titled like we're back or something that we are back or with like that Man it's it's been a minute. I've missed you guys, but What have you guys been up to? You know, it's been a it's been a minute. What do you guys been up to? What do you like to go first? Nothing, I mean just a lot of work lately just and then we had Easter We had the first Easter at our house in a few years We used to do them often, but we've been doing like different houses and stuff each year But we brought it back to our house this year. That's a lot to get ready for me Exhausting but we had a lot of fun. We had a lot of food a lot of our family helped us put it together So I wasn't too bad in the end the team effort, but it came out really nice We had a good time a little bit of rain, but we managed to I think me and Jay We're still sitting out there is letting we had there's a tarp above us. So it was like a mesh It wasn't necessarily pouring on us, but it was pretty bad. We were just like now do it Yes Yeah But we just hung out for a while, so that's pretty nice We've got an awesome picture of we hadn't used to bunny show up and take pictures with all the families But my god daughter did not have too great of a time meeting the bunny Awesome picture just her like it's a little sad, but it's adorable. She's just screaming. I mean Yeah, but it was cute Later and laughs at this, but that's why the highlight of Easter Yeah, well, I mean long day, but it was worth it in the end. I mean, I had a good time There's not seeing all the family because it's been a while since we grouped up like that But um, yeah beside that I'm like preparing for that week before I'm just a lot of working getting busier with all that Movies Godzilla came out and that hasn't been Slowing down. So I think we expect that to be busy for another week It's not too bad, I mean even slow last couple months So it's nice to pick up again get something to do and we're not just kind of walking around trying to figure out what to Clean so it works out. It's been fun. That's what I've been up to just kind of working being with family It's been nice. I've been all over the place. That's a little lately I've talked to you guys a bit about it, but I can ask you see I'm actually a moving back to California Sometime this may so I Make I'm excited to be with you guys and a little teaser for what's going to come next But we're hoping to do, you know, a few more things in person. I'll hype you guys up a little bit I'm excited for all of that. But um You know, we're not there yet You know, we're starting to do a few things and move a lot of things so it's been a lot of moving a lot of homework a lot of stuff with um a Little bit of my career going on with acting and stuff. It's been been insane I was able to perform in a monthly monologue contest with the actor Diego Tanoco. He's from on my block He played Caesar and it's just been a it's been a wild ride a crazy experience I mean so much stuff just happened so fast and I mean it just keeps happening You know life just keeps moving forward and it's been nothing but good things and I'm honestly just excited to be back home Excited to be back with you guys. It's gonna be insane. It's gonna be fun. There's so much good stuff coming our way and Honestly, I I just can't wait for it Especially for everything we get to do you get to do with each other with this podcast? So I'm hot I'm excited and that's all I say for now I won't reveal too much of what we're gonna have going on. But uh, Jay, how have you been man? How's it going? It sounded like you said you're excited to do each other You heard what you wanted to I Heard you rewarded and I was like, okay. Okay. Okay. He meant he meant he's with each other. No I know it's been an eventful last couple weeks About two weeks ago. We celebrated my fiance's 21st birthday went to Vegas. It was fun. It was cool I Didn't lose actually any money. I'm surprised I actually made some of it back which was great and I was proud of her because she turned $5 into $90 So I was like, whoop. Let's do it. Nice, man And then the week after was a little scary because my mom hi mom, if you're listening I know you're gonna be listening because you've been wanting me to put out an episode for the last two weeks She got surgery done she had like an accident a long while back with her back and Caused some nerve damage from her job box fell on her is crazy But she she she went to surgery she went through with it and Everything went good. Everything went really well The Monday that we got back. I was fucking stressing out so bad. I was just like, oh my god, it's tomorrow Oh my god, it's tomorrow. It was Tuesday and when we got back the week, so I was freaking out I was talking to Marlene about it and I was like, oh my god, like My mom keep kept making comments. Like if I don't make it I'm like shut the fuck up mom What are you saying? Like, why are you talking like that? But she She legitimately like she pulled through She took it like a champ. Actually the doctors and the nurse Told her that like most of his patients say that like they need a fuck ton of medicine to like Make sure that you know, she's Like she can handle, you know But she's just like I need some fucking tolerant now I'm feeling so much better than how I used to feel because before it was hard for her to turn Look around lift things because of her shoulder damage and now like that it's healing like she feels so much better So i'm happy that everything went well I'm happy. We're all back. Honestly, it's been a freaking minute. I miss you guys. Like I said, i'm gonna keep saying it But the shit that has happened, you know last time we did something especially in the music world. Uh, Yeah, it's been a fucking rollercoaster I know there's been You know, I've been doing a lot of stuff. I've been doing a lot of stuff But I've been doing a lot of stuff. I've been doing a lot of stuff. I've been doing a lot of stuff A fucking rollercoaster um I know there's been debates going on obviously and I mean I mean all three of us have been having debates about what's been going on recently and that's the The drake kendrick and cole debate all that um Do you guys want to head into that right now and just just to get it over with all the debates you guys? Do you guys want to get that over with right now? I'm down you guys go ahead. I mean you I know you guys are pretty knowledgeable the whole subject Teach me tell me what's going on. All right So go ahead. Go ahead. I'm just going back on their backstory, right? I got I learned some of this from the internet I learned some of this from sal from uh um Sorry, um, I learned some of this from sal at work. Shout out to sal. Hope you're listening to me, bro. Um good But uh, so kendrick a long time ago made Well, he started his career, right? Um J cole was the one who told dray about kendrick, which is a which is Shut the fuck up You're good, you're good Um They're talking about eating each other out that's just going on right now Go ahead jay anyways, anyways, um So kendrick started his music career Um, we found out in an ardoir interview a long while back with j cole that j cole was the one who told dr Dr. Dre about kendrick and that's kind of like how kendrick started coming up and up and up. Um He had a few hit or miss in the beginning and then it started taking off from there and then that's when he met drake drake begged his Uh, this i'm just giving you guys a brief history uh drake begged his um his record label to like his people To like bring kendrick with him on tour and like kind of give kendrick like a spotlight as an opener And that's how kendrick got his start fully. Um after that Uh there they did poetic justice together. I'm sure a lot of people know that song from I think it was good in that city Is that is it the? Is it that one? Okay, I didn't want to be wrong. Um But that song is a banger, uh, I love it so much We'll never get a collab from them together again after this shit but then there was another song that kendrick did with uh, big sean where he just went after like a fuck ton of rappers like All kinds of them just everyone he just went after all of them This isn't the first this is the first disc that kendrick ever did And then when he went and seen drake because drake was also on that list of people. Um He went and seen drake and he acted like nothing was wrong and this is what drake had said in an interview as well saying that Excuse me. Oh my god. I fucking needed that Um, but uh Drake in an interview said that kendrick was very like Like oh nothing's wrong You know like I didn't just diss you and talk shit to you in a song like calling you out Calling you out saying that you're a shit rapper, you know, everybody this is drake. I feel like everybody has at this point. Um But uh going forward from that Uh, that's when drake Uh, so this was like a whole one-sided beef for like a long long time kendrick for some reason just stopped liking drake Nobody knows why even drake doesn't know why um and then it kind of started delving into uh You know this whole beef that happened recently. Um, uh, as you know first person, uh first person shooter came out and the line where j cole says um I love them when people argue the big three Is it k dot is it aubrey or me aubrey referring to drake k dot referring referring to kendrick? um you know in a way giving him his flowers kind of saying that like In the top three, these are the people who I associate with and in recent in recent in that same song um J cole also says if I diss you i'm gonna make sure you're on my caller id um Uh, so he's basically saying like if I diss you it's because like you you're close to me, you know Like i'm i'm gonna diss you like i'm gonna name drop you if i'm gonna diss you but after he dropped that line Uh giving him his flowers Um or what we think might be giving kendrick his flowers Um for being such a good artist. He also says everybody steppers And i'm then i'm hungry i'm gonna clear off my plate something like that he says something like that and um, you can go look it up. I I don't know exactly what the line but Everyone missed that part and for me. I looked back at it and I was like, oh shit like, you know, every Him saying everybody steppers and kendrick's hole like big steppers, you know, like that's like him saying that like he's hung Like j cole's hungry. He doesn't give a fuck who you are and he's gonna go after you too. So I think And he also took um his I don't know hate for for drake and then he Went on to the most recent song um from by metro boomin And uh future, uh like that which was the best song in the entire album i'm not gonna lie Save the whole album in my opinion the whole album. Yeah, I agree with jovi. Um, we both have like Opinions on the on the whole beef in itself because obviously jovi like he loves drake um, I I like drake i'm not like a big fan, but um But i'll i'll ride with his classics and stuff like that and some of his new stuff is pretty good. Um But overall that album met the metro, uh, we don't trust you, uh Future fucking dragged those songs so hard so hard, I think my highlights were kendrick being unlike that and then going to um young metro with uh the weekend Because I was I wasn't expecting you're able and that shit that got me hyped and I was like, oh fuck About to be a bigger album and then it kind of got weary in between and then like that came out and I was like Fuck. Yeah, this is dope And then it kind of started just long and I was just like, all right, this is stupid But the beef you wanna you want to talk about that a little more joey? Yeah, um First first things first when I thought about uh, jim metro's album. Um I gave it a six out of ten I feel like it started off pretty strong, you know with with kendrick on there and the weekend or able being on there I thought it was very I gave a strong presence that this album was going to be like good, you know, and that's what all the hype was for, you know, and Like jay said future kind of just really dragged these beats kind of really showed his age and i'm not trying to be you know, um like complaining about it, but he really showed his age on some of these beats where it was just like He really does need help sometimes like Future songs are great to listen to but not repeatedly one after the other after the other after the other You need a feature or two in between there like 21 savage or like, you know You had kendrick in there and they had travis but travis I feel like had kind of had of a weak feature But yeah, I I don't know. I know travis can do better than that It just I don't know felt very weak for me, you know, I I love metro boomin and I think his beats are amazing. He's one of the best producers, you know as of right now And it just felt kind of sad to hear those beats get just dragged on by future I mean, hopefully the next thing they got coming out is that we still don't trust you It's coming out next week or something like that Hopefully that's a little bit better and I am still kind of excited for that because it's metro. Come on now But like jay said let's get into the beef of things, uh, the big three Um last episode we were talking with tyson about the big three about drake kendrick And jay cole And I said that I favor drake You know majority of the time Um, I do think kendrick is amazing. I think jay cole is amazing, but For me to stay unbiased and I know people are gonna like oh my god. Why are you talking about numbers? It's just It's not numbers. It's stats and I mean compared to other rappers drake has I feel like maybe accomplished the most As in accolades and stuff like that Um, I know kendrick has done great with stuff and same with jay cole but majority of artists And I just say artists right now because rappers Don't get enough attention sometimes but majority of artists haven't been able to Put up the same numbers As drake has in the past few years. I mean his 2010 to 2018 run Was fucking insane during the features. He was on and the amount of songs he did I mean It was insane and I honestly I feel like that still hasn't been topped yet by a rapper And he was putting out albums after albums after feature after feature and everything he put out was just fucking insane I mean sycamore was like the fucking theme song in high school for me Like in everybody pretty much and then when drake snapped on that beat everyone was like what the fuck? I I mean You get that same reaction from kendrick on like that, but I feel like since then Since drake, uh being on like astroworld There hasn't been that reaction of a rapper coming onto a song like that and then kendrick obviously was on like that And that was like the first time I felt that hype since I heard drake do that in astroworld. So I was like, oh fuck so it does show how good kendrick is but You gotta remember consistency is always key and it took kendrick almost like a good 10 years to respond to drake After drake had thrown some subliminals and stuff like that the same with jay cole. It's taken him a few years So the real question is like why was he holding back or you know? What was he up to because he was putting out music and the real question is was he I wouldn't say afraid But was he intimidated? By drake and cole's numbers because he dropped, uh, big maroon. I whatever the hell it's called steppers um And it was good for when I listened to it, but that replay value when I went to go back to it, I mean I could only really listen to n95 again and the rest of it kind of just felt So meh Not it didn't feel like kendrick for me. I jay. I don't know how you feel about that one I I I agree with you on that like when I first listened to it It didn't feel like a kendrick but I can go back and listen to a couple more songs than just nn4 That's just me though because i've always been a kendrick fan though Well, yeah, but yeah, and then poor jay cole, man. He got caught in this fucking crossfire I think he he's not one to throw shots At at points. I know he's not a rapper that gets into it, but he did throw that shot like jay said So, I mean obviously it was coming but i'm gonna say it I I I think Kendrick's verse right there was kind of like a A desperate kind of cry out like Like oh i'm still here guys So i'm gonna go ahead and diss everybody and it's kind of what eminem did And it you know sparked his career again for a few years, but I mean it didn't do much at the end of the day because you know I mean he he did some gk and that was that and then he just like a few other rappers obviously, but It just felt like uh, like i'm kind of falling off So i'm just gonna do a bunch of people and see how it goes And it usually goes well because it catches people's attention. I mean look at megan With nikki megan hasn't made a good song until she made hits and then everyone loved her and now Now megan not megan not megan Now nikki is kind of catching all the strays, which is deservedly so she fucking freaked out but You know what? I mean? I feel like when rappers are an artist in general trying to diss somebody Sometimes it's kind of just like a oh fuck it. I'm kind of falling off. So i'm going to start some drama, you know I feel like that's just most of the genre now. It's just a lot of them calling each other out and kind of Pointing fingers just waiting for a response so that that also goes back to their first comment So, I mean it always goes back to them and like the advertising through it all but I mean I don't know. So that's just like the constant you're always seeing that kind of um Just pointing fingers and throwing each other under the bus kind of talking smack just kind of waiting for that response Because people like that. I mean you guys love it. You guys aged it up when you guys found out. Oh, yeah Uh, what do you feel about all that jay? What I what I just said I mean for me like i'm gonna say like how I posted it on my instagram story man. I feel like Drake is the call of duty of rappers like overall I understand the hype behind both genres. I love call of duty. I love the games. I'll always play him um, just like how I like some of drake's beats and I like some of his Like I think I think the best term of it is like fuck shit like his fuck shit where he's like on his hype shit where it's like hype beast like I can bob my head and like You know like like when when I went to vegas when I went to vegas and fucking um Uh rich baby daddy came on in the club Everyone was singing that shit dude. And oh my god. It was so much fun just to do that shit but but I think the type of consistency that drake has Is that he's the same rapper? and It's not going to change and it's the same thing with call of duty like it's the same formula same type of like Same type of flow same type of genre Whether it's sad calling people out being horny, you know that kind of shit at least with Like I have respect for j cole and at least like he can put out, you know Albums that tell stories that have more kind of like how adam Likes when artists have like more lyrics that have more meaning in a song and they tell stories and they You know if you be something that you can learn from in a way That's the kind of rap that I like which is why it pertains to eminem a lot I mean, maybe not his most recent stuff, especially because what's been about is just calling people out and Like killing people I mean music to be murdered by was fucking good and his lyricism is great Um Music to be murdered by was really good and his lyricism is great But overall like it's it's just the same like eminem after kamikaze Like I feel like kamikaze is a whole different genre of eminem And ever since that it's been the same thing over and over and over and that's what I don't like I like artists that can go back and forth which kind of draws me into like You know some of the other people that i've been kind of getting into recently but Yeah, I mean that's just you know, what what I feel about that whole situation I mean before I like before we end this little little debate here, I guess um Uh, it's not really a debate. Um but um when you said like, um That drake just has they stayed the same. Um Um As a drake fan, I don't think he has I think he kind of has like evolved with the times a bit, you know, he's been able to kind of Stay up with these younger rappers and keep going with them and not kind of fade away into the backseat You know and just let like shit ride um He's done like a shit ton. I mean Since his album take care and stuff like that and scorpion. I feel like he has really changed and grown with the times Um his rmb shit, you know, he man His like everyone says oh that old drake shit. We missed that shit He still does that on his music, but he'll involve like his rap into it It's his way of staying keeping up with the times. I mean his rmb shit back in like 2010 2011 was It was fucking awesome, dude I mean the songs he had with rihanna and like everything he did was just picture perfect and then obviously music changes And I mean we've all been around long enough to see how much the rap game has changed and How it can be influenced just by one person And it's just it's insane to see that and it I mean, I feel like drake has kind of grown with like time changing um he can't really say the same for other rappers, it's like sadly, I I mean like j I love eminem, but sadly he just hasn't been able to find that like Find that notch to where he can like change his voice up a bit or change something else that's going on with his beats and stuff because It's been the same since kamikaze and I liked when he changed it up with kamikaze, but it's been the same so I think drake yeah, drake has found a good way to Like put like different pieces of workout like um, his most recent song with four bats. I forget what it's called um shit was fucking amazing and it was his R&b shit because that was what um, the song was pertaining to was r&b and When drake flies on the feature You you cannot tell me like you hear his voice and you're like, oh shit. This is gonna be a banger and it's it's it's sadly true like If I even if I wasn't a drake fan I heard his voice come on a song like like a low-key rapper and like drake came out. I'll be like, oh wow Okay, this can be this can be something Because every time drake does slide on the feature, it's a hit. I mean am I am I wrong? I mean you sent me a tiktok the other day showing me like all the features and I was like, yeah I get it when he's a feature. I just know like that's pretty good, you know Yeah, but you know I'm gonna say like all three of them are fucking great. They've all done so much good shit with rap. They've all been very big anchors for rap is and especially for me they've been big anchors for rap is and growing up on it and Being able to watch them like all three of them grow as rappers has been insane like getting to see drake and cole collab and getting to see um kendrick and his cousin baby keem collab as well the fucking amazing songs dude like Kendrick just elevates Whoever raps with them. I think all three of them have that effect whenever they're featuring with somebody they have that way of like elevating how they rap especially with um My life with j cole 21 savage I didn't get into 21 savage till I heard him with j cole on my life and I was like, holy fuck J cole can really elevate the way someone raps and I became a bigger fan of j cole after that It's just I don't know they all three of them bring something different to the table So at times it is really hard just to compare all three of them. You get me jack Yeah, I get I get that 100 but I mean that's all I really have to say on that I mean, I know it's dwindled down a bit and everyone's waiting on drake and cole's response but um We'll see if they even do because at the end of the day It could be a lose-lose situation you lose if you respond and you lose if you do respond because everyone's already Kind of glazing kendrick. So like at this point if you do put something out, it's going to be considered as a flop you know, I was going to ask you adam as a As someone doesn't really listen to rap. What do you think of like all this beef going on? Like, how'd you feel about it? I don't know. I just felt like there's too much to keep track of. I mean I've heard of all the artists before but never really kept up with them like in the way to that I would understand what was going on like You guys had to like Let me know that there was something going on. Like I had no idea So, I mean it's not really something I keep in touch with but I mean it's interesting to know there's stuff going on like I don't know why everything has to be escalated and Everybody kind of responds and I don't know. It's just an interesting cycle to see But I mean it works for their like advertising and getting their audience interested so, I mean It could just be a tactic. But either way, it's interesting to watch how it plays out That's true. I never thought about it like that being like a stage tactic or a way to way to market your music I mean, that'd be pretty fucking crazy if they all came out with a song together like oh, we're just kidding We just want to market this for you guys. I'd be like, what the fuck? But it's cool and today we're also dropping on a thursday, which is new, uh, we're recording on a thursday, by the way So when you guys hear this, we have Recorded this like a day before or earlier or whatever um A lot of stuff coming out tonight. I know, um kalita's dropping tonight. I have not heard a song from him in a fucking minute So it's good to hear that. He's coming back. Um Adam, I know you're a big fan of kalita. Would you want to speak on that a little bit? Yeah, I think that'll be a cool one to come out. Um I know he had one song that came out recently. Um, I think it was just like a snippet that he advertised through tiktok But um, I mean it sounded cool it sounded promising um, a lot of the comments very positive to people who liked it so far but um I don't know. I just I hope he kind of goes toward to that like His older stuff. He had a really nice vibe that he kind of stuck with But um, he kind of lost his touch for a bit. So i'm hoping he's able to come back around from that I mean, I think he kind of felt the same. He said he kind of Probably in your words fell off a little bit Yeah, um after his album I forget what it's called. But the one with uh Dumb young dumb and broke and i'm 18 and coaster. I love all those songs. They're fucking amazing. I mean Really? I don't majority of those songs. Yeah Especially coaster fucking no Yeah Ah, man He's such a talented artist as well. Very young when that first album of his came out I mean, I remember him stepping onto the scene and everyone was like who the fuck is this guy and Kelly was just blowing up everywhere. I mean he was he was everywhere at the time everyone's listening to his songs vibing and it's honestly like the perfect vibe music his voice is very I'll say unique and it's just really nice to just kind of sit down and listen to Even like, you know at our age now to sit down and pop a beer Start drinking and just vibe to his music play video games and stuff like that. Just take a drive to it. I mean It's good music and I miss that I miss that like that music You can just vibe to and I really haven't had a chance to Do that in a while. So i'm excited for this song to come out and see You know how he's done with that big time gap, you know, i'm I am a little nervous for it but I I think he'll handle it nicely and Be able to step right back into that because like I said, he's a very unique artist and I His voice is just fucking amazing Yeah, he's good at really Passing that That feeling that it's nostalgic when you listen to it. Just kind of feel good kind of nice. Yeah, I agree with that. Um Yeah Very very high school vibes. Like jay said like the nostalgia that he just hit me right now. I was like dang That music was always like in my headphones and it was always a good time with with kelly playing the trips. We would take with um With all of us together jay and then i'm pretty sure you guys, you know, obviously we take trips together have kelly blasting in the radio Ah, man, i'm excited for him dropping as well. Um Is any anyone else dropping saying that you guys are excited about? Um, at least on my end, I know there's another one, um willis they're coming out with the album They've been talking about it for a bit. But um, it sounds pretty cool. They released one of the songs already Um lay low That's pretty cool. It's very chill. Um It looks like it's gonna be like a laid back kind of album, but it should be pretty good I haven't listened to them too much adam. How much how would you describe their music? You know, what would be their their vibe for you? What would you describe them as? Um, Well, I mean indie is definitely the genre to just kind of put out there so you get the idea of What they are but um, I don't know. I don't want to say kind of soulful almost. I mean, I mean I'm, not sure how to explain it. Well, I mean, I think a really good phrase probably like road trip vibes kind of That kind of idea so it's really nice like freeing like yeah, I can't explain it Sorry, I didn't mean to put you on this spot there No You're good Um, i've heard a few songs from them Like like out of set they're very soulful um This fucking chat i'm gonna keep this in here. Anyways, who did put this song on here? Was it me? It's so sad The sad one I do a few of them, dude Was tuna I remember that somebody okay, so So somebody decided to draw Bob's burgers like playing that playing this song because the person Alex sounds like, you know when he's singing and it was like Tina singing at bob's funeral that shit was fucking sad. I was like, what the hell is this shit? We've been watching bob's burgers a lot more too recently and made it even worse for me One person i'm gonna say that job inside and i'm pretty excited for i'm gonna give him a listen I haven't listened that much but um Ureli's, uh, brother leo. He loves listening to it. Um, conan gray. He dropped an album tonight Especially if you guys have heard of him, but um, i've listened to a few songs by him But i'm going to give him a listen tonight Um, do you guys listen to conan at all? Um, i've i've i think i've heard a couple songs only because of natalie and adela shout out to you, too um Uh, they they're gonna go actually go see a concert. Um sometime this year Um, and they they've been that's all they talk about sometimes like their music tastes and how superior the music is Compared to everyone else's um adela's playlist She sent it to me and her caption is literally dad rock or nothing else and I was like, I agree Because I got into her playlist too. So it was fun Uh, but yeah, i've heard i've heard a little talk of conan gray um and then I want to get into the music a little more because You know if natalie and adela like certain music that I like and they recommend me stuff that I can get into I'll probably get a listen. Yeah, he's a good artist. Uh, You know, I haven't dived into him too much. But um, the songs I have heard he's a fucking great artist You know the way he sings and the stories he tells in his lyrics. It felt more inclusive for the fans. Uh, how do you guys feel about that? Like as a marketing, so how do you guys feel about that? Um, I think it's pretty cool maybe she might be going into like the whole thing where like You know, she might be like teasing an album on her close friends like type shit. I don't know Yeah, it's something so small like just to Switch to toggle and make everyone like your close friend and like add one post But I mean, I think it's cool. It's personal. It's been more or less like pop or Indie, how do you guys feel about like? Indie and pop and any other like stuff going on r&b Kind of taking over the scene from rap and do you guys think rap will make a comeback? I don't feel like a loaded question um but um adam, I know you're big into indie and stuff like that, so how do you feel about indie becoming more of like a Like more like being listened to more as a genre I think it's been cool. I mean, I don't know if it's more of that like more is dropping like recently, but um, I think just It's been more broad like uh, you're asking which is more. Um, Um, I feel like indie has taken like a step up recently. They um There has been more available recently like more artists are dropping and I feel like more artists are kind of stepping out of the shadows So there's more to listen to and like discover but um I feel like there's more of like you asked me which one or like what genre is starting to be more popular I feel like country is really Getting out there, especially like beyonce and all that but um I mean not exactly country, but I feel like no khan. He's also kind of has that influence. Oh, yeah Like that folky sound I feel like that's also really popular right now So, um, I feel like it's a good time for music right now I mean stuff that i've been liking I feel like i'm finding more or um There's artists that are making stuff that kind of tends more to my side my taste. That's been cool. I feel like More stuff for me to listen to and yeah I feel like indies really been better than it has so that's exciting I mean i'm really hyped about i'm not like i've said before i'm an average country listener, but uh, what's been coming out recently and then I think noah kahan has been like a A good escalate into country like adam said like he has that like folky Vibe, he brings it, you know the way he sings even the even his vibe in general is fucking awesome, so he's one of my favorite artists right now and I can't wait to see like how much he does with his music because he's been on a fucking awesome run and I think he's gonna just keep making great songs, but um Jan I know you're a really big avid rap listener and then yeah, honestly, we all listen to everything but how do you feel about rap seeking kind of like a backseat to The newer genres that are starting to come more into the light Honestly, i'm kind of glad. Um I think that like I I I like rap for listening to it when I'm playing video games only I can listen to it occasionally like when i'm in the car But when i'm in the car, I like folk music I like Country, I like r&b. I like, you know rock. I like heavy rock. I like alternative rock alternative indie Indie like I like all this stuff. So i'm excited In terms of the country that's coming out. I'm more excited for lana del rey's country album Than beyonce's because beyonce's cowboy carter was kind of like a meh thing to me. I wasn't a huge fan um I was joking with marlene the other day in the car. I was like, I really think that uh, Everyone's switching over to country because taylor dominated country when she was a country artist and now she's a pop artist And I everybody can't do pop and all that. So They're moving over Taylor doing a rap album with ed sheeran Oh, no fucking ed sheeran He's great, but he's great. He can't rap He can't rap for shit He does his best. I forgot about ed. Sheeran. Holy shit, dude, like, huh? Let's see. We got a fucking choke hold on there like 2010s and stuff with all this All the albums get going out I remember like Yeah, yeah, it's been it's been a while since he's dropped anything Yeah music's changing, you know, it's cool to see these brand new artists coming out. I mean You know, these older artists are trying to kind of fade away and take a different direction, you know with um Whatever they got going on in these new artists coming out like olivia. Rodrigo Sabrina carpenter and oca hon Uh, stephen sanchez. I mean they've all really made some big strides in these recent like years, especially with tiktok Tiktok has been like a huge helper for some of these artists And it's not necessarily a bad thing. It's just a good way to promote your music and that's business at the end of the day So you use whatever you got? but um, yeah, i'm excited for whatever is coming and It's weird to say but i'm excited to see What these older artists do to kind of stay in the game like beyonce see the whole country album and like jay said it was It's all right, you know, it wasn't bad. It wasn't good, but It's beyonce. So it's gonna get numbers um To be gonna speak in the country. Um, I know we brought him up a few times already in the past episodes But um, i'm gonna since he's playing right now in our little music thing I'm excited for post malone to drop his album, which i'm hearing it's a country album Seeing he's been working with morgan wall a lot lately too.
