Terrorist Attack

On September 11, 2001, a series of airline hijacks and suicide attacks occurred in the United States. The attacks were carried out by 19 militants associated with Al-Qaeda, an Islamic extremist group. The targets included New York City and Manhattan, resulting in a significant loss of life and destruction. This event, known as 9/11, was one of the deadliest terrorist attacks on American soil and led to a major U.S. response to combat terrorism. Approximately 2,996 people lost their lives in the attack.
