The speaker explains that they will read a story as a class using the Reading Writing Companion. They usually do a group reading or a modified version of popcorn reading where they stop at certain parts and the students read together. They will also answer questions and discuss how the story connects to their central question about culture and tradition. The next three slides are the story that we would read as a class in the Reading Writing Companion. What I use for reading is most of the time we will coral read as a class or I will do a different version of popcorn reading where I will read at a certain part and I will stop randomly and then the kids have to coral read as a class wherever I stop, they pick up and they read as a class. So these next three slides, we would stop and occasionally answer the questions that are on the side of the Reading Writing Companion. We're marking it up with the information from the last slide and then going over how this connects to our central question about culture and tradition.
