John Milton

John Milton, born on December 9th, 1608 and died on November 8th, 1674, was a multifaceted English writer. He was a poet, polemicist, and a civil servant for the Commonwealth of England under Oliver Cromwell. His writings were produced during a time of religious and political turbulence. However, he is most famously known for his epic poem, Paradise Lost.
