John Dryden

John Dryden, a prominent figure in English literature, was a poet, literary critic, translator, and playwright. In 1668, he was appointed as Poet Laureate, a prestigious title. He had a significant influence on the literary scene during the Restoration period, so much so that it was referred to as the Age of Dryden in literary circles.
