In this episode, the hosts introduce a new segment where they set mini challenges related to their long-term goals. Alice's goal is to write a book, so her challenge for the week is to host a live stream on her TikTok account to talk about her book writing journey. She's a bit nervous but also excited to step out of her comfort zone. They discuss the length of the live stream and how Alice can engage with viewers through questions and teasers. They have two weeks to complete the challenge. Hi everyone and welcome to episode 5! We are the Accountability Coaches and this is our fourth episode and I'm here, Joanne, and we've got lovely Alice. Hi everyone. So, we're going to, we said on our last podcast that we, well, we talked a lot about failure and then we also shared that we were going to surprise you with something. So, Alice, do you want to share? Yeah. So, just to recap, so, yeah, this is, this podcast is called The Accountability Coaches and we are basically using it as a tool to kind of keep each other accountable to our goals or to help all of you listeners as well, if you also have goals, to listen to each week and it can help to motivate you. So, what we thought would be quite a fun little segment that we're going to introduce is that each week we're going to set ourselves a mini challenge to complete in the week, which is kind of related to our long-term goals to try and push us out of our comfort zone, make sure that we're, like, progressing each week because, as we know, like, the weeks can just fly by and then you get to the end of the year and I haven't achieved anything, so I've popped my vision board last year. Yeah, exactly. So, yeah, so for this, I'm going to set myself my own goal, is that right? Yeah. Yeah. I can't remember what we're going to do. Yeah, so what we're going to do, so we've talked a lot about our goals, how we started. We've both shared our longer-term goals, so we might just do that quick recap and then we will now start to set ourselves some challenges and just so we can go through that whole experience together and we can share the experience from start to finish. Yeah. And see if we're accountable, what, you know, obstacles we've come up against, what's worked, what's been successful, and hopefully sharing that so that we can all start to, you know, share this knowledge and make sure we're reaching for our goals and getting what we want and where we want to be. So, yeah, Alice, what would you like to start off with? Yeah, so my, like, main goal for this year to write my first book. Yeah. That is, like, my main, like, North Star, as they say at work. And so I thought this week a challenge I could set myself is that I have a TikTok account called Alice Book Talk, go follow, which I set up to try and make me accountable to my book writing. So I've been posting videos on there, not very consistently, about my journey, about And I thought as a challenge for this week coming, I could host a live stream on there about talking about my book writing journey so far. Yeah. So that's something I've never done before. I've never done a live stream. I've only got about 10 followers, so I don't think it'll be too much pressure. And I don't know if anyone will listen to it. Well, hopefully, Joanne will. I will. I will be there for sure. Holding you accountable. I was going to say my mom has a TikTok account. She won't even be on it. But, yeah, I thought, because this week I want to do a lot of book writing, and I think at the end of this coming week, yeah, I want to host a live stream on there and just talk about it. I think it'll be good to get myself out of my comfort zone. I've never done it before. Yep. Start building a community, because also when I launch the book, I feel like I need a sort of community to try and help me when I launch. So, yeah, I think that's what I'm going to do. I don't know when. I need to set a date and time. Yes. But obviously, we're going to record this podcast in our next episode in a week from today. Yeah. So I basically have to have done it by then, because it's going to be really awkward. Yeah. Well, we've got two weeks to do it and complete it. OK. Yeah. We've got a holiday break. Yeah. Yeah. We're on holiday next week. So it will be, yeah, it'll be two weeks. Yeah. So I've got time. And actually, it'll be good, because I haven't been consistently posting on that TikTok account that I have. So this will kind of help me to maybe start posting. Yeah. Maybe do like a little teaser video before, try and get people excited. It'll be quite funny if it's just me talking to you on the live stream. But yeah, we'll see. No. I'm excited. I think this is a really good one, because it's all aligned to your overarching goal. Yeah. But it's something new, a bit out of your comfort zone. Yeah. Yeah. And I feel like it'll just mean that I'm doing something which is progressing to my ultimate goal. Yeah. And yeah. Yeah. And a live's a new challenge. So you've never done a live before? No. I've never done a live on any social platform. So yeah. I think... First time. First time. Woo! How are you feeling about it? Tell me. Talk me through your feelings. Say it out loud. I'm going to be honest, because no one follows me on that TikTok profile. They don't feel that scared about it. If I was doing it on my Instagram profile, where all of my friends and family follow me, that would be really terrifying. Maybe I should do it. Yeah. OK. I think maybe... Yeah. I think we need something else in there to make you feel a little bit out of... I mean, I do. I definitely feel out of my comfort zone. OK. I don't know if I need to feel more out of my comfort zone. OK. Fine. OK. Stop trying to make me feel more out of my comfort zone. No. I do, because I like just the kind of mechanics of going live. Live. It's a bit daunting. Daunting. And like being in my bedroom alone. Yeah. Like sitting there and... But... Being live. Yeah. I mean, I probably shouldn't talk about Instagram things now. But that's going to be the next thing we're going to have to do. Well, you did put it out there. There's a reason that happened. No. Yeah. OK. So how long do you think you would want to go live for? OK. Yeah. I haven't really thought about that. So I feel probably not that long. Maybe like 30 minutes max. OK. That's quite long, I think. OK. Yeah. OK. Maybe 10. Yeah. No. No. I think 30's good, because... I don't know what I'm going to talk about. But I... Yeah. I think I can just go live, and then maybe just start speaking. And then if someone, like, comments as well, I can maybe try and get in the lead-up, like, post some more videos. Say, like, I'm doing this live stream. At what time? Or at what time? Yeah. And then if people are commenting about, like, you know, how did you start writing the book? Like, what have you found that's been helpful? Maybe you could write some questions. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
