Canadian woollastonite is a new mining operation in Ontario that produces woollastonite products. Woollastonite is a calcium silicate with special properties that have environmental and economic benefits in many industries. It can be used for carbon sequestration and as a low CO2 raw material for cement production. There are also ongoing research projects exploring more applications for woollastonite. Canadian woollastonite is a recent addition to the mining community of Ontario and produces woollastonite material products and performance aggregates. Woollastonite is a high-grade mined calcium silicate with unique chemical and physical properties that delivers environmental and economic benefits on a wide range of industrial, ecological and agricultural applications. A number of environmental uses exist for woollastonite, from carbon sequestration to a low CO2 producing raw material for cement manufacture. The list of applications of woollastonite continues to grow and CW is proud to be involved in multiple ongoing research projects.
