Keyword_search: learning, mind, calm, steady, reeducate, sitting practice, tecniques, unified, integrated, one-pointed, self-conscious Question_content: Questioner: How can learning happen? Larry: How can learning happen. The mind doesn't want to learn. It's not in the mood to learn, unless it's reasonably calm, reasonably steady. And that's why we have to do this practice. So, I'm suggesting that we can reeducate ourselves, and learn how to live. But practically speaking, we need equipment. We need to be fit, to do that. And one very important aid in that, is the sitting practice, working with the breath, and the slow walking. And there are many other techniques, which help us slow down, become more steady, become more unified, integrated, one pointed. Then the whole notion of being able to educate ourselves or reeducate ourselves, is a possibility. If the mind is just wacky going like that, it's fanciful. There's no real learning going to come from that, because the instrument is defective, the learner. End_time: 00:48:30
