Jeanne Marie Bouvier de la Motte Guyon

Madame Guyon, also known as Jeanne-Marie Bouvier de la Motte-Guyon, was a renowned French mystic and an influential figure in the Quietism movement. Although her beliefs were regarded as heretical by the Roman Catholic Church, Madame Guyon fearlessly expressed her ideas and faced the consequences. Notably, she was imprisoned from 1695 to 1703 after the publication of her book, A Short and Easy Method of Prayer, which delved into the topic of Quietism.
