Short podcast assignment with Maggie harper
In this podcast episode, Jacob Marmolehill interviews Maggie Harper about her experiences at USC. Maggie chose USC because she wanted to attend a big football school and felt a connection to Carolina. If cost wasn't a factor, she might have considered a school in Florida. She has found Carolina to be a resourceful and community-oriented place, with connections through the Catholic Center and her sorority. Overall, she feels like she always has familiar faces around her at such a big school. Hello there. Welcome to Jacob Marmolehill's podcast. I'm here with Maggie Harper. How are you doing, Maggie Harper? I'm doing very well, thank you. Okay, Maggie Harper, today we're here to interview you about your experiences at USC. And I would just like to ask you, why did you choose USC? So I chose USC because something that I was like really looking for in a school was I wanted to go to a big football school. And to shorten things up, out of state got cut out for me kind of because of expenses. And so then I had two options that it got narrowed down to, and that was Clemson and Carolina. And I liked Carolina more than I liked Clemson. And I also, I just felt at home at Carolina because I like grew up with Hancock my whole life. And I just felt like I'd be the happiest there. And if out of state wasn't an issue for you, would you have still gone with Carolina? Or do you think you would have chosen a different school? If finance was not an option, I probably would have tried to go to a school in Florida, maybe. But also, I just didn't apply to as many down there because of that. So I really don't know. Well, have you felt like your experience at Carolina has been resourceful to you? What kind of values did you come to got from Carolina? So I think that Carolina is really good about building community. And it's honestly, I didn't expect to like, get that experience as much in college. But like, I've been very privileged to like, meet so many great people at Carolina and instantly like feel a click with people. Like I go to the Catholic Center, I have a great community at Pillars for Carolina. And then also just like with my sorority, I feel like there's a great sense of like community. And I always know somebody wherever I go, even though it's such a big school, I feel like I have so many familiar faces that I'm never alone. Well, it was nice talking to you today, A. Harper. We appreciate your time. Thank you.
