Hello everybody, my name is Lucia Ochavez and welcome to my podcast. So, today's topic is going to be a question that I feel I get asked pretty often. And that question is, how did I get into riding horses? Well, let's take it back all the way to the day I was born. Just kidding, not really. But, pretty much I've always grown up around horses ever since I can remember. My dad, he's a very, very huge horse fanatic. His whole life has been, he's been surrounded by horses. So, he kind of put his hobbies, you know, and kind of showed them to me at a very young age. So, I grew up to really love riding horses as well. When I was probably about 4 or 5 years old, my dad was able to purchase, you know, a horse. Luckily, he got this amazing horse that I love and his name is Gerrante. He's the horse that I ride nowadays. He's very tame, very calm. He has a big heart. He's very noble. I love him, you know, and we've had him for so many years, already for more than 15 years. And, you know, literally the majority of my life. At this point, he's pretty much part of the family. He's like my brother, you know. So, yeah, I've always pretty much just grown up around horses. So, I remember I started riding horses at a very, very young age. And I fell in love with the adrenaline. I fell in love with horses. I fell in love with riding them and learning more about them day by day. And, you know, as time went by, obviously, I got better. I started getting more into it, more into Mexican Royo. And it's a huge, huge dream and a huge accomplishment for me, you know, to be able to say that I was part of Mexican Royo. I won many competitions. And that dream is still there for me. But obviously, you know, life gives you many obstacles and gives you many twists and turns. But, you know, hopefully one day I do aspire to go back into the Mexican Royo environment. I absolutely love it. And, yeah, I mean, that's pretty much how I started riding horses. Been exposed to them my whole entire life. Grew up around them. And hopefully I get to enjoy horses for many, many more years. And eventually, you know, my future fits as well.
