What the hell Pat? You know what? Here's your stupid watch bag, said Ronnie, throwing the watch. Ronnie, please listen, I was going to tell you. Your mother took you and left, what was I supposed to do, asked Mr. Patterson. Oh, I don't know, maybe be a father all those years to me instead of, you know what, whatever alright. Mother told me you were a friend of my cousin and that you had good connections. I guess not so good, huh? She died with her lies while I was locked up. So that's why she told me about your little chef position and said California would be a fresh start. I only trusted you because I thought you were Cousin Vince's friend, said Ronnie. You paid for my plane ticket to California and you know what, I'll pay you back. You were too busy being a father to other people. Now you just wait a minute Ronnie, keep your freaking daddy issues to yourself, you're a grown man. Whatever decisions Pat makes, you leave me out of it, yelled Gabby. Okay princess, run on back to your daddy, said Ronnie in anger. Gabby turned around very slowly and punched Ronnie so hard that he blacked out. She KO'd and uppercutted him, the king of boxing. Voices echoed as she slowly woke up, his eye was huge, purple and swollen. Ronnie Diva, Ronnie Ronnie Diva, are you okay? asked Dominic. Gabby hit you so hard you took a nap. Do all humans sleep like that, when they get hit in the face? Forget it, let's just find Danielle, said Ronnie, still seeing stars. Ronnie was lying on dry land uphill in a different area of the waterhole. Ronnie walked toward Gabby, she had her back to him, she had a pail dipped into the water and then she tossed it into Ronnie's face. Geez, alright already, yelled Ronnie. Oh my bad, I didn't see you there, I'm just a dumb princess, said Gabby. I never said you were dumb, said Ronnie, but I think you need to cool off. Ronnie picked her up and tossed Gabby into the water. She quickly sprang up and grabbed the back of his shirt and they fell together. He flipped forward to face her, they were face to face, floating underwater. Gabby's hair flew up, their eyes met. Ronnie leaned toward Gabby with his bruised eye for a kiss, closing his other eye. Gabby grabbed a fish, Ronnie had his eyes closed as he puckered up, so did the fish. Gabby laughed hysterically underwater as Ronnie puckered up to the fish and gave it a big smooch. Ronnie was embarrassed when he opened his eyes as Ronnie and Gabby came out of the water. Alright, you got me, we're even, I'm sorry Gabby girl, said Ronnie. Gabby slightly smiled, Ronnie followed behind Gabby. Niu began to growl at Samuel and barked continuously, easy boy, easy. Samuel pushed Niu back with his telekinetic powers, Niu fearlessly growled even ferociously more. What the heck's going on, what are you doing, leave him alone, yelled Gabby. Looking over at Samuel, Gabby quickly ran toward Samuel as he lowered his hands, staring back at Gabby and calming his telekinetic windstorm towards Niu. Dominic walked towards Niu. Roderick and Niu could communicate through their own language. Roderick had been Dominic's pet since birth, so he was the only one who could understand Roderick. Niu began to bark and explain what he saw to Roderick in their language. Roderick translated for Dominic. Samuel began to slowly distance himself from the situation. Roderick says, Niu saw you put Mr. Patterson's watch in Ronnie's pocket on purpose so that they would stir up a fight. Niu said you read Mr. Patterson's thoughts and knew he was guilty. Shame on you, Prince Samuel, for getting involved in family matters that do not pertain to you, said Dominic. Well, I guess you're not getting rid of me so easily, you're a joke, said Ronnie, staring down at Samuel. He looked Samuel up and down, daring him to come close. Guys, please, that's enough. Let's get moving, said Gabby. After everything was said and done, they continued the journey to find the third key. Tensions were high. Everyone was on edge but silent. How about a sugarplum ha-ha, asked Samuel. He was trying to cheer everyone up. He was feeling bad about his actions. How about a knuckle sandwich, mumbled Mr. Patterson. Ronnie chuckled. I bet this kid's breath smells so bad he chips the paint from the kingdom's royal quarters, Ronnie told Mr. Patterson. They were clowning on Samuel. I bet his gas is so bad he turns the toilet paper to ashes, Mr. Patterson laughed. Samuel turned around. How about you both shut up, he asked. Samuel was very embarrassed. Served him right, mumbled Gabby. Gabby was riding near you like a horse. Oranges began to fall and sprint from the sky. They hit Gabby and everyone on the head. Everyone, please stay close. Those are smoke bombs. Try not to inhale, it's a trap. Samuel quickly tried to warn them, but they all began to pass out within seconds. Gabby woke up to the oversized, deformed, yellow and red bumblebees with black wings and mutated fingers similar to the scaly skeleton fingers. They stared hard at Gabby along with her crew. Everyone sat in steel cages. Let us out. Do you know who I am? I'm a prince, yelled Samuel angrily. What prince ego? How are you going to get us out of this one, huh? Yelled Ronnie. Poor Ne-Yo was chained to a large boulder. Roderick was in a separate cage about four feet from Dominic. Who are you? What do you want, yelled Gabby. They are bleed bees. They were banished years ago for terrorizing our colony. They should have been extinct, explained Samuel. The bees chanted their evil celebration chant. They planned to feast on Gabby and her friends. Samuel struggled to get free from the ropes. He attempted to use his telekinetic powers to pull the keys off the head bee, whose name was Fourleech. He had the keys dangling on his hip. Oh, no, no, no, Samuel. You see, I knew you would try that, so I took the liberty of draining your power while you were napping, said Fourleech. He was the head bee in charge. His yellow and red body chuckled. He was organizing his bees for their traditional harvest. Queen Knox had released them from the land of Tabrinas, unfortunately. The traditional harvest meant Gabby and her crew were on the menu. Your Majesty, oh, my goodness, one of my idiot soldiers must have put you in there. They didn't know. Forgive me, said Fourleech, looking at Gabby. He quickly unlocked a steel cage. He let Gabby out of the cage. Samuel leaned toward the bars of the cage. Psst, he thinks you're Queen Knox. Just go with it. They're kind of stupid. They have bee brains. Just go with it and get us out, said Samuel. Why would he think I'm the queen, she started to ask. She turned around. Nine rows of oversized bees began to bow submissively in fear. Fourleech bowed humbly in front of Gabby. He thought she was Queen Knox. Gabby quickly tried to get into the character to save her friend. We await your first orders, oh, great and mighty highness, Fourleech said, bowing humbly. Um, yes, for my first orders, I, um, Gabby started to speak, looking up at the cobwebs in the trees. Uh, fetch me those webs and let the prisoners free from their cages, Gabby demanded, trying her best to sound like a queen. But your highness, Fourleech began, question me not, oh bumblebee peasant, Gabby said, trying to sound superior in some ways, she was just too nice, well, until you piss her off. The buzzing oversized bees and their stingers flew by and opened the cages for the one they thought was their queen. As soon as Samuel was released, he leapt toward Fourleech. Samuel struck Fourleech in his furry bee cheek, give me back my power, you buffoon, said Samuel, punching the bee continuously. No, no, no, Samuel, you gotta reach, you gotta aim for the stomach, knock out the air, give them bees, give them the bees knees, said Ronnie. Gabby unlocked Ronnie's cage, he was showing Samuel effective boxing techniques. Samuel and Ronnie began punching Fourleech in the stomach, double teaming him. Samuel smiled, grabbed Fourleech by his scrawny bee legs and spun him up into a windmill above his head. Samuel's forehead shot out a curved green spiral flame of Gemini symbols in a fire-based tide-like ocean motion, blanketing Fourleech's entire body and reducing him to pure ash. Dominic and Roderick used Roderick's strawberry splat sludge to hogtie some of the other bee members as the evil bee colony tried to gang up and use their stingers to assault Dominic and Roderick. Gabby was surrounded, she pulled her 9mm gun from her back pocket, she began to fire bullets at the bees. The bullets were eliminated with the Bleed Bees' acid-like red blood venom they shot from their stingers. She remembered getting into the situation with the Sabretooth monster and how she handled it. Gabby closed her eyes, flashes of her mother and many other memories bolted through Gabby's mind. Gabby began to break a heavy sweat, the Bleed Bees quickly realized Gabby was not the queen. She heard a sweet, whispering, raspy whispering voice say, Focus. Deep in her mind, focus child. She had a vision of a fatherly figure, bulky with a beard, teaching her to battle a shadow figure with a katana sword. The words made her soul rattle, focus. The words touched her mind once more. She opened her eyes and let out a scream so piercing it rattled the forest floor once more. Gabby's eyes rolled to the back of her head, they were now eggshell white. Gabby focused hard and built up a force field the shape of a fishnet, crystal ball of golden and blue streams, lightning voltage that surrounded her, but then the Bleed Bees began to seep through the force field with their sharpened bladed thorn stingers. Niyu finally broke free from his chain. Niyu finally ran and quickly assisted Gabby. Niyu jumped in the air and he swung his giant paw, tearing the bees apart like chew toys. Niyu somehow had a strong bond with Gabby and began to howl a yearning howl that collapsed the bees into a parallel frozen vegetation. Along with Gabby's scream, it was enough to just shred them to ashes. While some of them, some of them were still at it, at a full on war with the crew. Ready boys, now! yelled Mr. Patterson. Ronnie and Samuel swung from opposite sides of the trees, they swung and crisscrossed the cobwebs into pattern like forms. Roderick swung his strawberry like taffy red rope jam goo around another group of bees. He stood above their antenna and skipped high into the air, clicking Roderick's tiny ankles and he torpedoed the taffy around the bees' antennas, making sure they were well gripped and tied up. Niyu barked, warning him of more bees coming his way. Samuel had his telekinetic powers back. He was ready for a refresher course after learning to hogtie some bees. Focusing his mind, he controlled the bees that were flying towards Roderick. He somehow made the bleed bees start to sting each other. Ah stupid, what was that for? One bleed bee said to the other, you stung me first! The three bees argued, they looked like the three stooges. It's the kid, he's doing it! yelled another bleed bee. Samuel's eyes lit up like fireworks. He flew faster than the speed of light toward the group of bees in midair, only about six feet from Roderick. Samuel sucker punched one of the bees in his demonic black eyes. He grabbed the other bee and tossed him deep into the ground. The last bee sprayed his blood venom in Samuel's face. Samuel swiftly blocked the blood venom with his hands. He snatched the bee by the throat. With his other hand, Samuel retained the red ball of blood venom and it warped into a circular venomous weapon. Samuel leaned towards the bees left side. Samuel whispered, I am not no kid punk. I am a prince, yelled Samuel. He felt his own anger rising and he melted away the bleed bees flesh with his own blood venom. Mr. Patterson stared in amazement. He leaned toward Ronnie and said, remind me never to call him a kid, kid. Mr. Patterson chuckled. As the crystal ball that surrounded Gabby faded, Ronnie ran to her aid. Are you okay? Ronnie asked. He started panting, holding Gabby by the shoulders. Ronnie stared deeply into her eyes lovingly. Gabby stared back at Ronnie and their faces grew close. Niu with his gigantic paws came trotting over. He used his enormous slobbery puppy tongue to pick up Ronnie and give him a gigantic puppy kiss. Everyone laughed. Gabby, let's wrap this up and send those stinging bastards back to hell, yelled Samuel. Gabby focused her energy. Hoops of rosevine beams circled her hips. Her body rose up off the ground. She soared like a lioness with hands clenched upward. Sparrows formed from the yak rosevine circled beams around her waist. She raised the bundles of sparrows higher and higher. Gabby tossed the sparrows toward the webs of bleed bees. The sparrows began circling the bleed bees. They opened their beaks, drifting a snowflake shower of scolding spheres as the bleed bees kept struggling to get out of the webs. The bleed bees disintegrated into pure ash wrapped in the cobwebs. The lightning from Gabby's force field electrocuted the rest of the bleed bees as they remained as the remaining bees scrambled. The bleed bees had finally been defeated after 15 centuries of their epidemic coming and going, causing torture in the land of Duktu. The bleed bees' ashes drifted away in the wind. They were disintegrated and no more. Samuel dropped to his knees in a state of shock. His purple hair fell over his face. He began to weep. Gabby ran to his side. Samuel, what's wrong? For so many years, for so many years, even the bravest soldiers died trying to defeat the bleed bees. We were always able to block them out temporarily from Duktu, but we were never able to fully defeat them. They come and destroy families and they killed thousands of us. And you did it. You did it, Gabby. You defeated them for good, said Samuel. He choked on his words. No, Samuel, we did it, said Gabby. Me, you gave Ronnie a big slobbery puppy kiss as well as Samuel. I think he likes you, said Dominic, chuckling. At you next, pal, said Ronnie, tossing some puppy slobber toward Dominic. Ew, I'm allergic, shouted Dominic, jumping playfully back. Okay, I want to say one thing, Mr. Patterson started to say proudly. You all freaking kicked butt. Now let's go show this queen how badass we are as a team. They all formed a circle and put their hands, paws, and tiny strawberry fingers on top of each other. No matter what, we never give up. On three, survival is strength. We are one, yelled Gabby. One, two, three, survival is strength and we are one, yelled everyone. Even Niu and Roderick in their own language. They headed upward toward the colorful forest hillside and continued their journey to find the third key and to get to Blaylock Cave.
