Ignacy Krasicki

Ignacy Krasicki, born on February 3rd, 1735 and passed away on March 14th, 1801, was a notable figure in Poland's literary world during the Enlightenment period. He held important positions such as Prince-Bishop of Warmia and Archbishop of Gniezno, making him the Primate of Poland. Krasicki was known as "the Prince of Poets" and was highly regarded for his works that criticized the clergy. He was also a playwright, journalist, encyclopedist, and translator from French and Greek. Moreover, he authored the first ever Polish novel.
