The speaker discusses their two biggest stresses: upcoming finals and switching schools. They mention struggling with math and the need to pass classes to transfer schools. They find stress relief by being in the sun, doing yoga, and focusing on breathing. Yoga helps them stay present and calm their mind. Being outside and taking breaks from work or decision-making also helps. The speaker has narrowed down their school choices to two options in Colorado. They mention the stress of moving out of their apartment and the importance of taking time to breathe and clear their mind. Despite feeling some excitement about finals, the speaker values their ability to stay calm and manage stress. Distress Dissolvers, and I am Hazelton. I'll be talking about finals coming up and switching to another school, which is my two biggest stresses of the year. Coming up to finals, I've been struggling a lot with math, and I have to pass these classes so that I can be able to go to another school. Deciding that, that's another thing. And I have to decide whether by the time I graduate, basically. So in another week, and it's going to be interesting because I have a bunch of opportunities, but I don't know what to take. Now as with things called stress dissolvers, I have stresses and they are not the funnest. Things I do with stress is my biggest thing is just being out in the sun. I love being out in the sun. I think being out in the sun is the biggest thing to dealing with stress. So every day I go out, whether it's going on a walk, going on a hike, or just sitting there in the sun, going out and being in the sun is great for you. You can take your homework out, you can go work out, it's whatever you want to do. But being in the sun, that's a great stress dissolver for me. And especially this past week with my math finals coming up, I've been doing a lot of that. I go out at least once a day, go play volleyball with my teammates, we'll go sunbathe, or I'll just sit out there on steps and just enjoy the sun. I think that another thing that's been helping me is yoga. I do yoga about twice a week and it's been so nice. I just go into my yoga class and I can focus on what's happening. Because a lot of these moves, you can't focus on anything else besides the move or else you don't get a stretch or you just can't do the movement and it's just a flow of movements that you want to be doing. So when you're doing those yoga movements, you'll be so focused on the flow of the go and you just can't think of anything else. I realized it helped me. It's also helped me with breathing. I think that just doing yoga helps with breathing. I've realized that I've been getting a little stressful, getting really tight with everything I've been saying. Sometimes I say harsh tunes, you know, not the nicest things to people, but I've realized that, oh, I just need to take a deep breath. And with yoga, you'll realize that you breathe with your body. And I learned that whenever I need to breathe and like I'm getting stressed or something's just happening and I'm not liking it, I make my body breathe. I do that by bringing my hands up and like imitating breathing and bringing my hands down while taking in a deep breath through my nose and out my mouth. It's one of the nicest things that I think I've done and it's just changed my life a lot. And with this, I think it's been helping me with deciding schools. I've been doing this a lot and I've narrowed it down to two schools. They're both in Colorado and it's really helped me with the being outside and stuff like that, realizing what I really want. I think that a lot of your biggest life decisions is stressful and sometimes you just have little stress like a little stress for me right now is just moving out of my apartment. There's a lot going on. My roommates are trying to move out also. We have to make sure we clean everything, make sure nothing's damaged, the whole shebang so that we can make sure that we have, can get our deposit back that we put in. And that's just a small, you know, small thing. But when you, when they all just start building up, it's just hard to breathe, I think. So I think that using breathing exercises or yoga or just taking time off from work or whatever, like I figured out with these finals coming up, I like going hiking a lot. And sometimes when I'm going hiking, I don't take, you know, extravagant hikes, like 10 mile hikes, but I'll go outside and I'll just do something that's not with either math or deciding a school. And it's been helping me because when I come back, it opens me with a clear mind. I'm able to think better and I'm able to understand things better. That's how it's personally been affecting me. But another thing I wish I would do more is start out my days by breathing. Like as it talks, some days you, I realized my yoga instructor tells me that when I'm in yoga, it could be my first deep breaths of the day. And I've been realizing this and I've been focusing that some days I just take my one deep breath in and try and be able to take care of and think of everything that I'm going to do through the day, not in a stressful way, just like, Oh, I got this. I have everything going to go on. Take my deep breath. You can hold that breath forever long you want, but I recommend just being outside doing some yoga. Those are great ways to be able to de-stress and be able to prepare for what you have going on. I am excited that I have finals, not the most excited because you can't be too excited with finals. You know how it is, but I am just excited that I'm able to calm myself down so that whenever I'm going to be in a stressful situation, I'll be able to put myself and breathe and not being too stressed. I really like that. And this is Stress Dissolvers and welcome to Stress Dissolvers.
