The speaker welcomes the listeners to a morning devotion and prays for God's presence and guidance. They read a verse from Joshua and introduce the theme of undying hope. They then read passages from Romans and Psalms that talk about the hope believers have in God. They discuss the foundations of this hope, including belief in God's existence, His love, His ability to do the impossible, and His desire to do what is best for His children. They emphasize that placing hope in anything else leads to despair, but the believer's hope in God is unwavering. They give examples from the Bible, like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, to encourage listeners to trust in God's timing and plan. They conclude with a prayer for God's will to be established in their lives and for Him to do great things.
Shalom wonderful family and welcome to today's morning glory devotion. God bless you for being a part of the Just Ended Prayer Time. My name is Joshua from Harvest Chapel International Kumasi and it is a privilege to be facilitating today's morning glory devotion. Let us pray. Father we thank you for another wonderful day. Lord this morning we pray for your presence to be with us as we study your word. As we listen to your word reveal yourself to us more and more and let hope be renewed in us.
Let conviction O Lord be formed in our hearts and perfect our faith. In the name of Jesus we pray with thanksgiving. Amen. Let us take our confession from Joshua chapter 1 verse 8. Joshua chapter 1 verse 8. This book of the law shall not depart out of my mouth but I shall meditate in it day and night that I may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then I will make my way prosperous and then I will have good success.
Amen. The theme for today's devotion is Undying Hope and this is the final part of a 5 part series. Our scripture readings today will be from Romans chapter 5 verse 1 to 5 and from Psalms 27 verse 13. Romans chapter 5 verse 1 to 5. I will be reading from the Beroean Study Bible. Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
Not only that, but we also rejoice in our sufferings because we know that suffering produces perseverance, character, and character, hope, and hope does not disappoint us because God has poured out His love into our heart through the Holy Spirit whom He has given to us. Amen. Psalms 27 verse 13. Reading from the Amplified Version. I would have despaired had I not believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Amen. Over the course of our discussions on the undying hope of the believer, we have looked at the four foundations upon which this hope is built, which are 1. God is 2. God cares 3. God can 4. God will We have looked at the first foundation, the conscious, deliberate conviction of the existence of God and why it is essential. We have looked at the second foundation, which is the knowledge and understanding of the love of God.
As we mentioned that the knowledge and the assurance that God cares for you is an essential one, especially because we live in a fallen world filled with pain and suffering. We have also looked at the third foundation, the knowledge and understanding that nothing is impossible for God. We also mentioned that upon going through the scriptures, you will quickly realize that your situation is not an impossible one with God on your side, and no situation will ever be an impossible one as far as God is concerned.
We finally looked at the crowning foundation, which is the knowledge and understanding that God will do what is best for His children because He cares for them. We concluded that the undying hope built on these four foundations has been the faithful companion and comfort of every believer who has stood the test of time and entered into the hall of fame of faith. To conclude our discussion on hope, today we want to look at the opposite of hope, which is despair.
Despair is simply the complete loss or absence of hope. Placing your hope in anything or anyone else other than God would inevitably lead to despair. The good news for the believer is that the believer whose hope is built on these four foundations cannot fall to despair. As the Apostle Paul says in our first passage for today, this hope does not disappoint us. The believer does not despair even when what he or she expects or desires does not occur because he or she knows that the only reason why God will refrain from doing what He can obviously do is because He cares.
God knows that doing that particular thing at that particular time for His child would not be in that child's best interest. Because God cares for His children and desires the best for them, there are certain things He refrains from doing for His children even when they desire for and pray for them. This understanding makes the hope of the believer, the sure and eternal one, immune to despair. Like the Psalmist says in our second passage for today, I would have despaired had I not believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Without this understanding of the foundations of our hope, it would be all too easy for the enemy to deceive us into despairing and frustrating our walk with God. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did not despair even when they were thrown into the burning furnace. Maybe they expected God to have come to their aid sooner. Maybe they wished that they were never put in a position to oppose the Buccaneers. They knew God could deliver them, but they did not know whether God would do it or how He would do it.
But they believed that whatever God did would be the best, and God did what they could never have imagined. Beloved, what is frustrating you today? Is there something that is causing you to despair? Why don't you revisit the foundations of your hope in Christ Jesus? Remember that He is, He cares, He can, and He will at just the right time. Keep going before Him in confident assurance that He will do what is best for you. Things you could not have imagined for yourself.
It may not be when, how, or even what you expected, but you can trust Him that He will be the best for you. Amen. Let us take our memory verse from Psalms 27, verse 13, from the Amplified Version. Let us pray. Father, we thank You for Your Word that has come to us today. We pray that Your perfect will for our lives will be established, and that You will show us great and wondrous things we have not imagined.
We pray that Your perfect will for our lives will be established, and that You will show us great and wondrous things we have not imagined. We pray that Your perfect will for our lives will be established, and that You will show us great and wondrous things we have not imagined. Father, do exceedingly, abundantly, beyond all that we can ask, think, or imagine. In the name of Jesus, we pray with thanksgiving. Amen. Thank you for listening, and stay tuned for more Spirit-filled content on Radio HCI today.
Until we come Your way once again tomorrow morning at the same time, do stay blessed.
