The host of Sunday Showdown discusses the safety concerns in sports. They mention a recent incident in which a hockey player died due to a lack of safety measures. They also highlight the long-term dangers of football, such as brain damage. However, they acknowledge the popularity of football and the difficulty in changing the rules. The host wonders if there is a way to improve safety without compromising the game. They invite viewers to share their opinions and mention an upcoming interview with Tom Brady on the topic. Good morning, my fellow sports lovers! Welcome back to Sunday Showdown, your best outlet to find any news about sports. Last episode we talked about all of the Thanksgiving rivalry, football, bowl games, and also highlighted on what sports are recently rated as the hardest sports that you can play. I hope y'all got a warm cup of coffee with you this morning, because today we gonna be talking about a more serious topic. Which sports are the most unsafe? Recently an athlete died playing hockey in a game and many people called it a freak accident, but come on, this shouldn't have happened in the first place. We all love sports and we shouldn't be nervous about playing them or now have a fear of dying like this. Should someone be fixed regarding safety? Now hockey players don't have rules regarding their neck gear, which is why this happened. Even a skate cut his throat. Now y'all, football has also been known to cause death long term because of brain damage. Most people deck each other so hard that they end up getting CTE. CTE was studied by this research team and after studying 631 males who played football, only 28% of that number ended up being men without CTE. But y'all, football is a sport loved by so many. It would be so hard to change any of the rules about safety. It would have to be approved by so many people. I mean they can't get rid of football either. I think I would die if I couldn't watch my Sunday morning football games or watch my favorite NFL rivalries play. I mean come on, that's what I live for. But is there a way to fix these injuries so no players have to worry about their safety or health? I want to know what y'all think. Please comment your opinions and send them to me. In next episode I'm going to be interviewing Tom Brady on this exact topic. So tune in next Sunday for Sunday Showdown.
