Nothing to say, yet
Jesus welcomes children and teaches that the kingdom of God belongs to those who have childlike hearts. Children can teach us about trust, curiosity, and joy. We should approach God with a carefree and trusting attitude, like a child running to their father. Reflect on how you come to God and what He may be saying to you. Welcome to Christ Church's Daily Devotion for October 27th, 2023. Today we will be reading from Luke, chapter 18, verses 15 through 17. People were also bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them, but Jesus called the children to him and said, Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it. The other day I was with my nephew and his children. He stepped out of the room for a few minutes. When he returned, his little boy's eyes lit up and went running to him, excitedly saying, Daddy, Daddy! It was a good reminder to me to cultivate the same heart toward my Abba, Father, God. Children are valuable in the kingdom of God. Jesus says they have a lot to teach us about what it takes to be part of it. He wants us to come as little children. What does it mean to become a little child? Carefree, joy-filled, playful, trusting, curious, excited, forget greatness, see littleness, ask more, strut less, make lots of requests and accept all good gifts. Come to God the way a child comes to Daddy. You are his child, and you are important to God. His arms are open to you, and he longs to bless and love you. Today's personal worship option. Reflect on your heart's position in coming to God. Are you running toward him? Running away from him? Excited to experience his presence? What is your Abba, Father, saying to you?
