The Daily Devotion for November 7th, 2023, emphasizes the importance of generosity and giving. It reminds us that when we give sparingly, we will also reap sparingly, but when we give generously, we will reap generously. God loves a cheerful giver and promises to bless us abundantly. We should give willingly, not reluctantly or under compulsion. By sharing our blessings with others, we will be enriched and have all that we need. The passage encourages us to use our resources to meet the needs of others and to glorify God through our generosity. We should not hoard our blessings but pass them on to experience the joy of a never-ending cycle of blessings. Welcome to Christchurch's Daily Devotion for November 7, 2023. Today we will be reading from 2 Corinthians 9, verses 6-11. Remember this, whosoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whosoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion. For God loves a cheerful giver, and God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times have all that you need. You will abound in every good work. As it is written, they have freely scattered their gifts to the poor. Their righteousness endures forever. Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. God's blessings to us are not meant to end with us. His desire is that they flow to others. The principle applies in all areas of life, including finances. Did you know that our Heavenly Father has plans for your money? The Lord graciously provides for our needs and even our wants. But he also wants us to use our money to achieve his plans, and one of his goals is that we share our resources with others. Just look at his extravagant promise in verse 8 of today's passage. And God is able to make all grace overflow to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed. Sharing blessings with others will never lead to deprivation. In fact, the Lord promises to increase the harvest of our righteousness and enrich us in everything in response to our generosity. We can never outgive God. A hoarded blessing won't ever be enjoyed as richly as a shared one. Using your gift to meet someone else's need glorifies God by demonstrating his grace at work in your life. Don't let his generous provisions end with you. Pass them on and discover the joy of a never-ending cycle of blessings. Today's personal worship option. Lord, thank you for your many blessings. Lay on my heart what I should be giving back to your kingdom. Help me to be a cheerful giver.
