In this Bible study episode, the speaker discusses the importance of taking a step of faith, even when we have doubts, fears, or lack resources and support. They emphasize that faith requires trusting in God's promises and seeing obstacles as gifts from Him. The speaker also discusses the lessons from the story of Joshua and Jericho, highlighting the need for wisdom, understanding, and patience when pursuing our goals. They encourage entering new territories with confidence and relying on God's plan for success. The episode concludes with a prayer and an invitation to request more copies and visit the speaker's website. Hello, we welcome you to join this chariot for a 5-minute Bible study. This eighth episode on A Step of Faith is titled, Crossing River Jordan, Part 5. My name is Greg Alabi and I'm inviting you to come let us study the Bible together. More often than not, in most occasions, some of the reasons why we do not take that step of faith may include doubts, fear, lack of resources, lack of encouragement and lack of support. But come to think of it, if we have all we need before we step out, then that is no longer faith. That is no longer a step of faith. Hebrews chapter 11 verse 1 says, Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. That therefore means, if we want to see everything we need first before we step out, that is no longer faith. My point, a step of faith requires that we trust God Almighty that He will do what He promised to do. In the previous episode, we learned from Joshua chapter 6 verse 2 that God Almighty told Joshua in the New International Version that, see, I have delivered Jericho into your hands. Along with its king and its mighty men, the lesson, the King James Version says, I have given. That means, if we combine the New International Version and the King James Version together, it gives this idea, I have delivered and I have given. That means, your Jericho is a gift from God to you, delivered like a parcel delivery by a courier service. Hallelujah. My point, we must stop seeing Jericho as a challenged, fenced-high, locked-up enemy territory. Let's start seeing Jericho as a gift delivered by and from God Almighty to us. The people inside were afraid of the Israelites. Their appearance should not make us afraid neither. Now, let's learn some more valuable lessons on how to possess our possessions, how to go in and claim our parcels. First lesson is in Ecclesiastes chapter 10 verse 15. It says, the labor of the foolish wearies every one of them because he knoweth not how to go into the city. Second lesson, it takes wisdom and understanding to enter a city, to plug in to the mainstream of activities and enjoy the blessings and the benefits of any bigger territory that we want to enter. Otherwise, we will just be laboring for by strength shall no man prevail. Those who do not know how to enter a city and plug in to the blessings therein, they start seeing the blessings as locked up in restricted areas with fences that keeps them away. But if you know how to go into the city, that is home for you. Notice that Adam and Eve started their life in a garden of Eden. But we will end up in a city, the new Jerusalem, the city of God. That means God has destined that you enter this city. Second lesson is in verse 3. It says, ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Then shall you do six days. Second lesson, when you go around whatever you want to possess and you are taking the time to know better, take your time, do it once a day like God told you, don't rush. Take the time to know it better, study the subject matter, say nothing yet, just make your presence felt, observing and learning and obeying the Lord. Do it once a day, meaning ensure each day is spent to accomplish something that is directly relevant to whatever you want to achieve. No rush to launch out yet. Go round about Jericho once a day for six days, encompass it, march round about it, no running, take the time to cover every spot, don't jump in so you don't miss anything out. Third lesson here is in verse 4 to 5. Seven priests, ministers of God, carrying the ark of covenant, shall lead the Israelites and march past. On the seventh day they shall blow the trumpet, then everybody should shout out loud, shout loud as possible. This will collapse the wall of the city. The lesson, even if the gates are locked up against you, God has a different route of entry for you. His plan is to bring down the walls for you to go through. My point, stop focusing on just one method of walk, one method of possession, one method of doing things. God has a different plan. Secondly, let God go ahead of you in prayers and thirdly, if you are entering a city, enter with a big bang, with a loud shout of hallelujah, come in grand style, in a big way, not timid, not afraid. Deuteronomy chapter 28 verse 3 says, blessed shalt thou be in the city. My point, Jericho is yours. Go for it. I pray that the Lord will give us the faith and boldness to do it in Jesus' name. Amen.
