The 11th episode of this Bible study focuses on managing unpleasant surprises. The speaker shares that unexpected challenges can be discouraging and hinder our progress, but we can learn valuable lessons from Jesus on how to handle these situations. He emphasizes that our true enemy is Satan, not the people who may discourage us. Living a clean and righteous life helps protect us from demonic influence. When faced with unpleasant surprises, we should rebuke the demons behind them and command them to leave. By following Jesus' example, we can overcome obstacles and enter into a place of blessings. The speaker concludes with a prayer for power over demons and encourages listeners to visit their website for more messages. Hello and welcome to join this chariot for a 5 minute Bible study. This 11th episode on A Step of Faith is titled Managing Surprises Part 3. My name is Greg Alabi and I'm inviting you to come let us study the Bible together. Unpleasant, unexpected surprises can indeed be unpleasant. Show spoilers, show stoppers, heartbreaking and can kill the spirit. Not after we tried all we can, we put in our very best, then one devil shows up to embarrass, spoil or cause setback. Not after all the prayers and preparations. You would think that after all we have invested and all we have gone through and considering the efforts so far plus the fasting and prayer, taking all necessary precautions, everything is supposed to go perfectly well and then life happens. One satanic unpleasant surprise comes out of nowhere blindsiding us and now we have to either give up or stop everything to fix the mess. Dear friend, does this remind you of a previous experience and maybe you are currently going through something similar. If not, thank God Almighty but let us learn some valuable lessons together in the event that we ever find ourselves in a similar situation or we get to meet with somebody going through something similar so we can help them to be equipped, to be better equipped in managing unpleasant situations. Now, let's continue from our previous episode and learn from Jesus himself how he dealt with an unforeseen unpleasant surprise. Matthew chapter 8 verse 23 to 34 After Jesus and his disciples survived the stormy weather that almost drowned them, verse 28, they finally arrived at the other side of the lake. Then out of nowhere two demon possessed men showed up from the grave. They live in the cemetery looking so fierce and scary. Talk about unpleasant surprise. After going through hell and high waters, what will you do if you were in a similar situation? Now, let us learn from Jesus himself. First lesson here is in verse 30 to 31 The demons inside both men requested to enter the pigs that were not far away. The lesson, demons inside the men. That means the men were not the demons and the demons are not the men. Two separate entities. My point, all those people making life miserable for you, discouraging you are not your real enemy. Satan was just operating through them. The devil was using them to discourage you. My advice, no use fighting against people. We know better that Satan was just using them all along to stop us from taking the step of faith. They used two methods, confrontation and destruction. Therefore, let us be wise. Second lesson is in verse 31 to 32 They requested to enter the pigs that were close by. Jesus commanded them to leave. The lesson, Satan or demons will always seek to enter any dirty sin around. My point, we must live a clean life, holy and righteous so demons that wander around will not enter into our lives. The third lesson here, Jesus rebuked the demons and ordered them to leave. He said, go. The lesson, whenever we find ourselves in any unpleasant, unforeseen situation, cast out and rebuke the demons behind it. Bind them and break their power and their influence. Command them to go away from your journey. That's the Jesus way of doing things. Notice the pigs all ran into the sea and perished. The lesson, for taking the step of faith, Satan was actually trying to drown Jesus and his disciples. The demons inside the pigs ran violently into the sea. My point, tables turn if we can pray. It will go back to sender. Fourth lesson in verse 34 Two things happened here. The whole city came out to welcome Jesus but some people asked him to leave. The lesson, the city is waiting for you. The world is waiting for you. For you to manifest. But few people may not like you. Doesn't matter. Nevertheless, if you know how to manage unpleasant surprises the Jesus way by rebuking the devil, you will break through into a bigger, broader territory with blessings where you will be celebrated. Even if few people don't want to see you, no need. You will break through. Let us pray. Father, thank you for the lessons we are learning. Father, give us power over demons to cast them out of our path. That we will break through into a broader place and be celebrated upon arrival. We will cross over. We will get over this. Thank you. In Jesus name. Amen. You may request for subsequent copies by sending an email to gregalabee at gmail.com. We want to invite you to visit our website, gregalabee.com. Look for the podcasts.
