WHO IS THIS GOD?

It is impossible to worship a God that you don't know. It is very impossible. Jesus speaking to the Samaritan woman said, You worship God that you don't know. According to John chapter 4 verse 22, You worship He know not what. We worship what we worship. We know what we worship. For salvation is of the Jews. The question this morning deeply says, Who is He? Such a question is asked sometimes when someone despises you. Sometimes when you knock at the door, someone would ask, Who are you? Some other times you may be seated somewhere, and they ask, How is this one sitting here? Who is he? People actually in our times consider, Who is your father? David was faced with a similar challenge. One day when he was in the wilderness of a kind, in terms of experience, the Bible says He sent His people to the man that is today called foolish Nabal. According to 1 Samuel chapter 25 verse 10, when the servants of David approached Nabal asking for food, Nabal was so sarcastic. According to 1 Samuel chapter 17 verse 58, the Bible says, and Nabal answered David's servants and said, Who is David? And who is the son of Joseph? Because when they answered back, they said David is the son of Joseph. Unfortunately the father had no weight. So that is why Nabal continues to ask, challenging them, and who is the son of Joseph? There have been many servants nowadays, that break away every man from his master. Sometimes when people say, Who are you? The equation is so clear that you are a nobody. Sometimes when they ask the same question, it is when one has done something significant, when something out of the ordinary has been spotted about you. The Bible says when Israel was faced with a mammoth task, when Goliath stood up to despise the armies of God, the Bible says the same David, who was perceived to be a nobody by Nabal, emerged mightily and strong. That is why 1 Samuel chapter 17 verse 58 says, And Saul said to him, Whose son art thou? Young man. And David answered, I am the son of thy seven children, that beseech me. The Bible says, When Jesus arose, with an edge above the teachers of the time, people used to marvel at the authority that he had. Luke chapter 8 verse 24 to 25, The prophets arose and they came to him, and they woke him up saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose and repuked the winds, and the raging of the waters, and they seized, and there was a calv, and he said unto them, What is your faith? And they, being afraid, wondered, saying one to another, what manner of man is he? For he commanded even the winds, and water, and they obeyed. What manner of man is he? When we challenge one another to worship, you need to have a clear picture of who you are talking to. When we challenge you to pray, it is very difficult, if you don't understand what power he has. Nobody wants to worship a nobody. Nobody wants to be connected to a nobody. But it is very important that we have a clear picture of who our God is. The Bible says, in the book of Genesis, the Lord spoke the world into existence. He stood in the middle of nowhere, and he said, let there be, and it was so. The promises, the egg was formless and void, and darkness hovered upon the face of the deep, until the Lord spoke a word, and said, let there be, and it was so. Joshua 1 verse 8. The Bible admonishes us to meditate on the Word of God. In order for us to arise powerfully so, we need to know who this God is. The Bible says, Joshua meditates on the Word. This is how we assimilate the strength and the weight of the Word. That is how we access the power. When we eat the Word, we take time to meditate. The weight drops from our mind and God's Spirit, and then it becomes easy to get your inner man from work to worship. That's the question. Who is our God? From other times, when you emerge to break the stereotype, people get amazed. People begin to wonder over the grace that God has given to you. When Jesus silenced the stone, the disciples asked the question, by who is this man? That if in the will obey his command, allow me to go through Scripture and consider Biblical characters, so that we formulate a picture of who our God is. The Bible says, when man fell into sin, God began the salvation story. Then God called a man. His name is Abraham. Who is this God that we must exalt? Who is this God that we must worship? Abraham will tell you that God called me from what is known to the unknown. He called me from my point of comfort to a journey, a great journey indeed, that I myself, God promised Abraham, a land, a great land indeed. And God says to Abraham, I have made you a father, a father of many nations, but the God that we serve, the God that we ask to worship, there are times in life it will cause you to lose something in order to gain something. What kind of a God do we serve? When God gives you a promise, He paints the picture, but He may not tell you the trials, the testing, and the tribulation that you will go through. But nevertheless, we must know that through it all, the hope of God will take us through. Who is this God that men are afraid of? He is the Lord. The Bible says when Abraham left his comfort bedroom to greatness, he was faced with challenges. The God that we serve will not bless you unless you leave your space of comfort. And take a walk of faith and take a journey and journey of faith. Why should we worship He is the faithful God regardless of what you go through. His Word is sure. His Word is faithful regardless of what you go through. Regardless of the pain, regardless of the misunderstandings, regardless of the failings, regardless of the mountains, Abraham will tell you He is the faithful God. Abraham will assure you paradise will come, but paradise will go. Feminine will count, but feminine will show that He is wise to us. In the middle of nowhere we still worship. When we worship we don't worship because everything is ok. When we worship we don't worship because there is money. When we worship we don't worship because there is a promotion. Sometimes we arise into worship in the face of opposition. Sometimes you get a letter of termination terminating your strategy. But when you know that faithful is He that made a promise you shall worship in the name of Jesus. You sweep down the fence. I lift Him up. The barber sleeps in my bed. I lift up my eyes to the East and West. Come at my house. He is God. He is the right worshipper. When He makes sugar diabetes when He makes cancer when He makes HIV when He makes Hepatitis C when He makes 5% migraine when we worship in the name of Jesus. Marriage is not a marriage. God is the way to worship in joy we worship in summer we worship in winter we worship in abundance we worship when there is nothing we worship when the people that they touch we worship we worship we worship we worship we worship we worship He is a faithful child. In Him we move. In Him we live. In Him we have our custody. He is a faithful child. Abraham will tell you in order to see the hand of God lose something lose friends lose friends and a brother lose support lose your brother lose your sister lose your wife lose your husband lose your husband He may not understand when Jehovah moves upon you He may not understand when Jesus moves upon you when Jehovah moves upon you we worship we worship we worship we worship we worship we worship
