George William Foote

George William Foote was a renowned British secularist and editor of a journal. He was born in Plymouth, England, and raised as an Anglican. After relocating to London in 1868, he became actively involved in the secularism, freethought, and republicanism movements. He joined the Young Men's Secular Association and the National Secular Society, and also contributed to Charles Bradlaugh's National Reformer.
