Georg Ebers

Georg Moritz Ebers was a German Egyptologist and novelist born on March 1, 1837, in Berlin. In the winter of 1873-74, he discovered the Ebers Papyrus, an Egyptian medical papyrus from around 1550 BCE, named in his honor. The discovery was made in Luxor (Thebes). This papyrus is now located in the Library of the University of Leipzig and is considered one of the most significant ancient Egyptian medical papyri.
